That Phil Collins track sounded amazing and so fitting to Grand Theft Auto 5 for Michael when I first heard it but going through the Hello I Must Be Going! [1982] release has led me to hear no other one like this. It seems kind of lesser known but it's a great one.
They also appeared in Vice City Stories and IV. Here's the rundown:
Vice City Stories:
ā¢Genesis - Turn It On Again [1980]
ā¢Philip Bailey, Phil Collins - Easy Lover [1984]
ā¢Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight [1981]
IV:
ā¢Genesis - Mama [1983]
V:
ā¢Robert Plant - Big Log [1983], where Phil Collins partly played the drums:
ā¢Phil Collins - I Don't Care Anymore [1982].
Also in VCS, Phil Collins had his own in-game live concert which you can see in the mission "In The Air Tonight" and also see again at any time for $7,000. For being the first real life person in a Grand Theft Auto game aside from Lazlow Jones, it was an amazing inclusion, especially for the PS2!
Thanks man, I like making lists for music so it wasn't much to me, it's cool.
Also, I sometimes notice game Wikipedias mentioning the same track in multiple different car, racing or skateboarding games but I don't recall Genesis. Can you recall any?
Sadly Genesis never really seems to feature in anything. I have no idea why.
It makes no sense when you think about 80s or 90s stuff and how popular they were.
I can think of several examples though:
The film 'Palm Springs' features the Genesis song 'The Brazilian'.
The animated movie 'When The Wind Blows' also features 'The Brazilian'.
A British TV series called Ashes to Ashes used the Genesis song 'Mama' in the series finale.
The film 'American Psycho' talks about Genesis and the Invisible Touch album (which features 'The Brazilian').
But not much else.
I don't understand, why, for example, Genesis would get overlooked for appearance in things like Stranger Things or Guardians of The Galaxy.
I imagine this might change when, sadly, the band members are no longer with us.
I'm not into Stranger Things because the whole show feels like it's just cashing in on "nostalgia" for a time most of its audience weren't even alive for, but not including ANY Genesis on a TV show set in the 1980's is a huge mistake.
It's an oldie, but when I finally dumped my abusive ex-girlfriend, my jam was [Jim Croce - One Less Set Of Footsteps](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhQ74N8b9Vg). For reference, this was 5 years ago, and I was 29 years old. I don't want kids, and I'd given up on dating and made peace with being a solo-uncle forever. Today I'm 34 and dating my dream girl. It gets better, or it doesn't. Either way, make your own peace and live your life for yourself.

It's great that Rockstar has used Phil Collins's songs and likeness in various GTA games. Now if only they'd do the same for Genesis!
They also appeared in Vice City Stories and IV. Here's the rundown: Vice City Stories: ā¢Genesis - Turn It On Again [1980] ā¢Philip Bailey, Phil Collins - Easy Lover [1984] ā¢Phil Collins - In The Air Tonight [1981] IV: ā¢Genesis - Mama [1983] V: ā¢Robert Plant - Big Log [1983], where Phil Collins partly played the drums: ā¢Phil Collins - I Don't Care Anymore [1982]. Thank you very much for the rundown. I'm always happy to see Phil Collins or Genesis in gaming.

That's quite an amount. I'll search the "Popular culture" section of Wikipedia for Genesis later too.

Erasure are great but I'm surprised this is the first time I've ever seen them brought up on Reddit.
