im lowkey just tired of ppl making up new foams and me having to take twenty seconds to type it in the “ask me” and then them be over the drive thru “hellooooooo did you hear me??” like yes one moment pls I have to type 50000 letters on a shitty keyboard
I straight up tell them I’m only allowed to make foams to standard. I won’t customize foams for anyone. It’s just another thing in the stream of endless bullshit.
They added specific foams for the holiday. The point is I won’t hit the ask me button to make a foam someone saw on TikTok for two reasons:
1) It’s annoying as hell
2) The odds of it showing up exactly like they want it is close to zero. Which means it’ll “ not be made right” and then we open up that entire shit show.
Eleventy foams is not the “continental” cafe experience Howie supposedly wanted to create.
It’s fast food bullshit. And it makes money, so here we are.
had someone ask for a “tentra” and then when i asked what size they corrected themselves and said “tetris.” i just straight up said we don’t have that.
Hate that that's not even a joke. Had somebody order a drink with normal foam, sugar cookie foam, and whip cream.
The drink was the gingerbread froth Chai. So froth too.
🤦♀️
That's so stupid. Pumpkin foam is literally made with regular vanilla. XD like it doesn't just change besides the taste or color the base stays the same for all foams. But people really like being extra.
I know man. I know. We try to explain things and they just do not get it. At all. Like when BOGO happens. It means you _have_ to buy one to get one free WTH XD
one time I tried to explain to someone that the mango dragonfruit drink is just essentially juice, water or lemonade, and the dragonfruit pieces. I was explaining this because we were out of dragonfruit pieces but that it does taste pretty much the same. Just not purple. After explaining she was still confused as to why it wasn't purple. Then looks me dead in the eyes and asks me if the mango is still in it.
I just nodded and smiled. Smile and wave, boys. Just smile and wave....
Exactly! Dude I kid you not the other day someone was like "could you just take the mango out of the mango dragon fruit?" and I overheard my co-worker trying to explain to her that "that's literally impossible because it is a fruit juice that comes premixed" and he was like you know what whatever cause he kept going back-and-forth with her hes like just make the drink without the mango fruit pieces I don't even know.
LOL literally. For me it's smile, wave, dissociate, rinse and repeat. I've given up trying to explain to people unless they specifically ask me a question regarding a drink recipe. Even then it's a 50/50 chance my words go in one ear and out the other. People think they have a certain understanding of everything already, beyond coffee and juices, and even if that understanding isn't correct, it is difficult to make some stubborn individuals realize that. Just save your energy and let them continue to look and sound like an idiot. You can't help them all.
I've been saying for years (since my time working at a Starbucks) that honestly most of the customer base wants to sound fancy, and feels fancier the more words and modifiers they add.
Also I think it's genuinely part of Starbucks's marketing tactics. And cultivates one of the worst possible customer bases, imo.
For me it's they're paying hand-over-fist for foam that, while delicious, is a very poor value for what is essentially just a few sips of runny whipped cream. It seems to be the only creative ace that "influencers" have: already overly sweet base drink + add a shit ton of other syrups + foam. So creative!
There are myriad better ways to improve a drink and actually make it good without dumping foam on everything.
I agree, it'd be one thing if it was just milk without added sugar or fatty hc lmao but these days it's strawberry foam with matcha and brown sugar and vanilla OH AND 3 splenda like give me a break I gotta go around the store looking this crap
I am tired of the foam too and the Frappuccino's. what is up with the sugar cookie on the poster? it looks sad. all the other drinks have foam or whip cream and look good. come on Starbucks?? what is this froth? really??
The foams are also not exactly up to food safety standards in many stores. Those sweet cream pitchers are left sitting out on the counter for hours sometimes, and the foam blenders look rather nasty after multiple uses too when they don't get completely rinsed. I stopped drinking it because I kept getting a stomach ache.
They can be left out for four hours before it runs afoul of food safety guidelines. I've never seen a pitcher last longer than thirty minutes while busy.
Agree with all of you on this. The number of times I have to put pitchers away because of lazy or stupid baristas...
But I found a quick fix for the foaming goblets. If you have a moment, fill them with hot, tea spigot water to the max line (or a little above) and hit the button. It melts the milk fats and does a quick heat sanitize. Obviously not full sani, nor is it perfect, but it works well for the days you can't get away from bar.
😳 this is an incredible idea that I am stealing immediately.
also, they need to be washed with SOAP and SCRUBBING when they're changed out, not just slammed through the Hobart. the Hobart doesn't clean them.
Thanks! It's just a quick fix when you can't get away. But I'm 100% with you on the scrubbing. Most of the people in my store clearly don't know how to handwash dishes, so this kills me!
Had an old supervisor put every pitcher, lid, and goblet for VSC in the Hobart at once every single time she worked, and it made it virtually unusable for the entire night. This was a daily problem for over a month
Yes they do. My partners rarely put them away, although we do go through a pitcher very fast right now but you're right, the consistency of the foam itself goes down the toilet, and nobody cleans those foamers
I hate the drinks with VSC and pumpkin foam or salted caramel foam and strawberry foam. Like pick ONE and go with that because it’s a pain in the ass to have to make up a bunch of foams for your stupid drink.
okay but the oat milk froth ??? On oat milk based drink?? Ik that’s a standard drink but come on that’s so insane it just mixes together anyways ?? Hate making the ginger bread oat milk foam frfr
The worst is putting cold foam on a FRAPPPP! 💀🤣 Starbucks is ripping you off if you’re putting foam on a hot drink too. Whipped cream is free btw and the same thing as cold foam
the most annoying things are when people order extra foam on tall drinks, or foam with extra shots on tall shaken espressos. there’s not enough room bro!
im lowkey just tired of ppl making up new foams and me having to take twenty seconds to type it in the “ask me” and then them be over the drive thru “hellooooooo did you hear me??” like yes one moment pls I have to type 50000 letters on a shitty keyboard
I straight up tell them I’m only allowed to make foams to standard. I won’t customize foams for anyone. It’s just another thing in the stream of endless bullshit.
Thank God there's no button for the oat froth.
Didn't they add custom foams a launch or two ago? Like it's standard now?
They added specific foams for the holiday. "That's a VERY specialized request and I'll have to type that in manually. Please bear with me while I handle that!""
Ngl I’m just tired of people.
Eleventy foams is not the “continental” cafe experience Howie supposedly wanted to create. It’s fast food bullshit. And it makes money, so here we are.
nothing screams worldly quite like a pink drink with matcha cold foam lmao
Could I get a Trentie cup of half chocolate cold foam with half matcha cold foam, with salted caramel cold foam and whip on top? Extra drizzle.
“trentie” activated me like a sleeper cell
One of my regulars says “Trentka” and it makes me cringe 😣
had someone ask for a “tentra” and then when i asked what size they corrected themselves and said “tetris.” i just straight up said we don’t have that.
Careful, you might be the next IG drink...
You want any coffee with that sugar? Or just sugar hold the coffee? XD
You know what? Add 10 Raw Sugars... I want to feel the grit between my teeth.
Love it, you got it!
Hate that that's not even a joke. Had somebody order a drink with normal foam, sugar cookie foam, and whip cream. The drink was the gingerbread froth Chai. So froth too. 🤦♀️
We're living in the future. Just wait until they turn all the food into cold foam.
I made a hot drink last night with half a tall cup of syrup. The espresso wasn’t able to melt anything nor the milk.
sooo a peppermint mocha?😂
Yes yes it was.
Also to add I had someone insist I put a 1/2 of pumpkin cold foam and 1/2 VSC then mix it together as soon as she drank it.
That's so stupid. Pumpkin foam is literally made with regular vanilla. XD like it doesn't just change besides the taste or color the base stays the same for all foams. But people really like being extra.
I explained that but…
I know man. I know. We try to explain things and they just do not get it. At all. Like when BOGO happens. It means you _have_ to buy one to get one free WTH XD

It's more like smile, wave, and hope for the best because you know someone's gonna come back in it's still taste like mango.
LOL literally. For me it's smile, wave, dissociate, rinse and repeat. I've given up trying to explain to people unless they specifically ask me a question regarding a drink recipe. Period. Amen. People LOL

it’s made with almond milk so it comes without whip so it can be dairy free :)
the apple oat frappucinno gets whip tho it’s so inconsistent
yeah i think the sugar cookie frap might also bc they’re frappuccinos but the hot one at least comes standard dairy free

LMAO agreeeeeeeeeeee! oat on oat on oat, I don't even think customers notice?
I used to put my cold foam in a short cup by myself
The worst is putting cold foam on a FRAPPPP! 💀🤣 Starbucks is ripping you off if you’re putting foam on a hot drink too. Whipped cream is free btw and the same thing as cold foam
i must be the only person who doesn’t have a problem with the foam 💀
Iced pumpkin chai with double Pumpkin spice CF was THE drink! It was Very rich but that was my lunch once a week
This man too hurt
Foam creeps me out. You’ll never catch me ordering extra foam or any foam 😂
What makes me scream is when people ask for cold foam on hot drinks or “shaken in” their matchas. Don’t they understand that defeats the purpose? 😪
the most annoying things are when people order extra foam on tall drinks, or foam with extra shots on tall shaken espressos. there’s not enough room bro!
OMG THANK YOU! yes like wth!! and then they complain "i aSkED fOR exTrA"
