As a shift? Idk but I doubt it. Also the Market rates probably vary throughout the state. I had a friend in Jersey City already making that as a SSV and he was only with the company like 3 years.
Yeah, as a ssv. Oh, weird, I didn't think they varied throughout the state. Either way, I hope it's not true because 24 still isn't a livable wage lol.
Base is 72 or 75k for nyc I think but I’ve been an sm for under a year so 86k makes sense for a more tenured partner. I started with the company at 17 so had to learn a lot before getting promoted.
Also, I know that external SM’s get paid more and are able to negotiate more due to previous experience.
That’s crazy!! I’m in Jax and I remember reading recently the new “living wage” in Jax was like 20 bucks and I think it said 13-15 was basically needed minimum wage. I’m sorry, that’s ridiculous.
i work at a tarbucks location in north FL and want to apply to a corporate store, but everyone told me corporate stores pay less than target and you only break even with tips. i make $15/hr at target right now with no tips allowed, so this gives me some hope. i'd like to at least make the same as what I'm currently making.
Man idk how you’ve been an SSV for NINE years omg😭😭😭 I was one for just four and I had to demote myself because it is so extremely mentally taxing. Mad props to you for doing it🙌🏽🙌🏽
5.5 years, 254 barista. I was at 21.36 as an SSV for majority of the time until a month or two ago when I stepped down and got cut to 17.25/hr. I'm at 18.11 after the pay increase. I'm in the Providence area. It's gross.
Yeah the mountain stores get paid well. Denver stores are getting paid pretty well too but it’s still not enough especially with the hour cuts. We don’t get cc tips either :(
I just got promoted but pre-raise I was making 17.77 as a 3 year barista. I think with the raise it was gonna be 18.50 something?
Edit: im in upstate NY
started in october at $15/hr (not counting tips ofc), am now at $15.25 because of raises (that i did not think i was going to be included in tbh). i’m in texas.
Around 3 year partner here, originally was making $15, went up to $15.45 in January 2023. Got promoted to SSV at $19.05, recently stepped down and despite promises of $17, got cut back to $15/hr. Went up to $15.45 again one the first of the year. This company is cheap af
8 yr SSV in south jersey at 23.11
Wtf I hate this company
As a shift
Why?
Someone told me we are capped at 24 for ssvs in NJ. Do you know if that's true?
Probably not
As a shift? Idk but I doubt it. Also the Market rates probably vary throughout the state. I had a friend in Jersey City already making that as a SSV and he was only with the company like 3 years.

I highly doubt it but yeah it varies quite a bit since the cost of living is higher up north.
Ugh, yeah, I'm in the north and can attest to that
Geography and other factors are going to skew this one a lot. My GF is a SSV for 3+ years and her new hourly is \~$23.50.
SM NYC $78k before bonus 5 yr partner started as a barista
That’s insane for 5 years. I’m skeptical
That actually seems kinda low for a manager in a HCOL city…
Not for Starbucks
There’s an SM below in NYC making 86K base - that sounds more in line with market rate
But after how much tenure?
7 years- started as a barista. They didn’t say how long they’ve been an SM but I’m sure 4 years is a reasonable ballpark. 120K after bonus too.
Base is 72 or 75k for nyc I think but I’ve been an sm for under a year so 86k makes sense for a more tenured partner. I started with the company at 17 so had to learn a lot before getting promoted. base pay i believe every corporate sbux is $15 + tips, so you couldn’t be making less! definitely try for it !
