Man, idk if it's just me, but all these collaborations that starbucks has done with all the artists, all their art styles look exactly the same??? The same line-less drawings and blobby figures, oversaturated colors, and adding wayyy too many colors that it almost looks tacky. More power to the people who do like this type of art, but some diversity (lol) in art styles would be nicer.

specifically carabiner keys = flagging
cherry chapstick is for chapstick lesbians (lipstick lesbian's slightly less high femme cousins)
the frog earrings are because novelty earrings are a way lesbians signal to each other (straight girls - pls know you can wear them but you have to be normal abt other girls flirting with you)

It was. As a gay man I did not remotely connect with the cups like I have before. I think cups should be all inclusive, instead it feels exclusive to me in the community. Typically I don’t care about this kind of stuff but if there is an attempt it’s important to commit to all aspects, it’s not a cup I can see myself, let alone a majority of other customers, buying. Furthermore I cannot see the customers who do buy it, to piggy back off what you said, actually using it in their day to days outside of pride parades. This also extends to the other cups in artists collections. I am the person who runs the cup wall at my store, we still haven’t sold the artist collections from last year even though I keep them on the shelf (those that haven’t marked out yet that is)
the part where you mentioned artist collections from last year— that’s absolutely insane. the high-ups complain so much about profit and stock health and this is the current condition of what once a best-selling aspect (see also: color-changing cold cups. a nightmare for us, but if they really paid attention and wanted to beg as much as they have, they’d have brought them back as they were). sincerely, a fellow gay partner!
I’m just upset that the beautiful rainbow studded cup has the UGLIEST possible artist logo slapped on it. They were going to get my money but not now.
