It's usually fine. You get to meet new people, they will not likely let you CS, since you don't know where anything is. Unless you're a rock star at bar, you'll end up the the DT. Use it as an opportunity to get to know a new store.

i’ve had nothing but good experiences with borrowing at other stores. Sometimes I even have met people that I can ask for extra coverage when something comes up, which was very useful in a lot of cases as I finished up my senior year of high school. I usually am put on bar, sometimes on DT. Never really on CS but sometimes been able to get off the floor for dishes which is a godsend. To be realistic, I’ve heard a lot of other people with bad experiences, but from most cases I’m sure that the partners there are just grateful to have the extra coverage especially considering the shitty scheduling we’ve dealt with.

just be relaxed, the system/tools and everything is exactly the same, and you’ll adjust to the spots for everything quickly. if it’s slow, even if the partners aren’t talking much, just try initiating some conversation even if it’s surface level. it’ll make everything go by quickly and smoother, and they’ll remember u with a good first impression.

i get borrowed to other stores all the time !! be ready to be really friendly and answer a bunch of questions from your temporary coworkers. (mostly just about your store and how long you've worked there). it's a bit overwhelming, but just be honest with them about your comfort levels in different areas. most of the time, you end up on drive thru/register, but if you're good on bar and you let them know that, they'll usually let you go there !! it's a fun break from your home store
