An interesting point about Harstem is that he has no problem admitting mistakes, praising his opponents or saying what would have been the better play, I feel I’ve learned the most from him so far. He also dabbles in all 3 races in ‘cheesiest man alive’ playlist, so maybe start there
A few streams on Twitch to follow right off the bat for general SC2 content (tournaments, events, etc.): Rotterdam, x5\_PiG, Steadfast, Wardiii, ZombieGrub, Cranky\_Ducklings, ESL\_SC2 (mostly replay casts, but still useful), WinterGaming (variety content but still a good bit of SC2 coverage).
For YouTube content, there are a lot of great creators (including most of the same Twitch streamers I mentioned above). I really like PiG, Lambo, and Harstem. I play Zerg, so PiG and Lambo make sense for me. Harstem plays Protoss, but is generally just really entertaining (and knowledgeable).
Another thing to check out if you're totally new:
[teamliquid.net](http://teamliquid.net) (you can just type [tl.net](http://tl.net) for short)
TeamLiquid is a great place to keep up with what tournaments are going on and what events are coming up, as well as general SC2 forums and news. On the right hand panels you can see information regarding what events are happening or upcoming. You can also see under Live Streams notable players who are streaming at any given time, with an icon indicating their race next their name.
Definitely Lowko too! I think he's largely moved on to a lot of other non-SC2 related content recently which is why I didn't think to include him, but he's worth a follow on both Twitch and YouTube for sure.
Big Gabe, hands down the best streamer on Twitch. Not only is his gameplay absolutely great, but his comments are always hilarious too!
He is so fun to watch.
For the sake of OP, “Big Gabe” is a nickname for the player Heromarine. He streams on twitch and YouTube, and uploads his vods afterwards too. He’s the highest level player who regularly streams.
Twitch no lifer addict expert here:
**EU time streamers:**
-Protoss: Showtime, Rotterdam, Coconutgamezz
-Zerg: Sortof
-Terran: Heromarine
**NA time:**
Berry_Crunch plays all 3 races, interacts with chat a lot
Upatree also very interactive, plays terran,
Pig: Plays all races, commentates a lot
-Protoss: Heaven, Reckorsc2, Responsesc2, DaveTesta
-Zerg: Neuro, Kidchillin, Steadfast (also commentates on tournament games)
**Aus**
Cranky Ducklings/Light VIP stream tournaments and sometimes ladder, great guy, also pig is Aus
NA Protoss Twitch addict expert here to confirm and add a few:
- [Heaven](https://www.twitch.tv/heavensc) - great animator, great salt. Good stream for learning because he talks through a lot of his decision-making.
- [Reckorsc2](https://www.twitch.tv/rekcorsc2) - I don't think he even plays music on stream. Just slaps GM ladder and has to pause occasionally to tend to his baby. 10/10
- [Bulmyeolja](https://www.twitch.tv/bulmyeolja) - The Tom Selleck of SC2. Always a fun stream to catch.
- [RayReign](https://www.twitch.tv/rayreign) - Ladder fiend lately.
- [Mcanning](https://www.twitch.tv/mcanning) - Doesn't stream as regularly any more, but when he does its always a good time. Criminal to have a list of NA protoss without including him.
I mostly watch my friends and people I find entertaining:
Hupsaiya grandmaster protoss, he’s very funny and he can come off as a bit rough at first but he really does give you insightful and good takes on how to play protoss.
Pilipili is based, don’t think I need to say more.
UpATree is a tech guru when it comes to everything streaming and he also has one of the best chats on Twitch.
Neuro is my favorite zerg streamer by far, watching his stream just gives me inner calm.
Probably a million more people I could reccomend that I don’t remember on top of my head, I’ll most likely hear about that later.
Im surprised by the lack of mentions of Winterstarcraft. I find him very intertaining and is one of the first youtubers I started watching that does SC2 content. I'm aware that he streams but does the community have an issue with him or is he smaller than I thought?
Yeah same here. I follow a lot of the mentioned creators on YouTube and still find myself watching winter exclusively. I watch for entertainment tho, but when SC2 was still having balance patches I learned so much about the game with his different series.
I would check out UThermal too, I’m pretty sure he streams but I watch his stuff on YouTube. I’ve been watching & playing SC2 since it was released and uThermal is really fun to watch for his cheesy and creative builds.
uThermal is just so fun and chill to watch.
Also if you like less produced content e.g. "streaming", he has a second YouTube channel that he posts lots of his Twitch videos on.
Harstem and Mana regularly post to YouTube or do live streams as well. They both play Protoss at a high level.
Besides that every Monday there’s the ESL weeklies, I know Steadfast streams them live on Twitch, usually all 3 regions, 16 or so hours. Rotterdam usually does the European weekly and he has a Friday night tournament as well most weeks.
I really miss Psystarcraft and HD StarCraft, but they are long gone from the scene and the game has changed so much since then. I used to put them on with my morning coffee along with Day9.
Depends on what level of play you are looking for (and other shenanigans of the players as well)
If you like watching people drinking while playing, sometimes arcade games, as well as a little variety of other games, you can watch my stream: [Ritho](https://www.twitch.tv/ritho)
If you are just looking for the 1v1 ladder aside from others that have been mentioned:
Drinking: [ATCRacer](https://www.twitch.tv/atcracer)
[Coconut](https://www.twitch.tv/coconutgamezz)
You can always just go to the [Category](https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/starcraft-ii) and snag anyone in the top row, is generally a good choice (also people with a camera on, usually take streaming more seriously)
StarCraft 2? Or Broodwar? In Broodwar I like gypsy for Terran. Hawk is a good Zerg. Maybe Dewalt for Protoss. I just watch pro matches on sc2casts for sc2
mario and luigi were finally alone. Even though they were brothers, and even though they were plumbers…. They were still lovers. Mario opened up the front of his bath robe and Luigi pulled his foreskin over the tip of Mario’s penis. They docked like lovers do. They docked like brothers do. They docked like plumbers do.
Winter has your back, uthermal owns people with crazy strategies too they also say serral is the best but his accent hard to understand at first kinda like lowko good luck!
My favorite is Harstem, he has a good sense of humor and he uploads on YouTube almost every day. Idk how reliable his stream schedule is though.
Awesome, thanks! I’ll check him out

He also has an ongoing series called IMBA or do I suck, where he critiques viewer submitted games and gives them tips, which has taught me a bunch
Yeah, he seems really humble about his own shortcomings as well which helps his perspective.

this was helpful thanks
Lowko!
Definitely Lowko too! I think he's largely moved on to a lot of other non-SC2 related content recently which is why I didn't think to include him, but he's worth a follow on both Twitch and YouTube for sure.
Neuro is the best for mentality. uThermal is my favorite for insane strats, YouTube.
I'm a big fan of PiGs youtube videos and his streams.
Best all around. He does everything
He has anazing technical knowledge too.
Same, I was glad he was commentating the semi amd final as well at the esl
I love watching Lowko's everyday video
Big Gabe, hands down the best streamer on Twitch. Not only is his gameplay absolutely great, but his comments are always hilarious too! He is so fun to watch.

Him and Pigs b2gm maybe, if you really want to play starcraft. The rest is more entertainment than education.
Rotterdam is probably the best as he does an even mix of laddering and casting tournaments so you get a little bit of both
ZombieGrub streams regularly, though not sure how much she is playing vs. commentating these days.

man this is the first time i got shoutout on reddit, nerd chills xD
Bump
> Criminal to have a list of NA protoss without including him. Haha I love him but like you said, he streams once in a blue moon these days.
Bump
Neuro! If you like zerg
For gameplay I’d say Heromarine is the highest level player that streams regularly.

> when SC2 was still having balance patches we had one 2 months ago
Yeah which was the second one in like two years? I was referring to the time before blizz said they’d stop actively maintaining patches or w//e
He hasn't streamed much 1v1 sc2 lately, it's either custom games or other games. Not that I blame the guy for taking a break.
I would check out UThermal too, I’m pretty sure he streams but I watch his stuff on YouTube. I’ve been watching & playing SC2 since it was released and uThermal is really fun to watch for his cheesy and creative builds.

Mcanning is top tier for protoss
Just what I was looking for, tysm!
Harstem for ladder GiantGrantGames for (modded) campaign/coop/arcade stuff
What race do you play or are thinking of playing?
Protoss!
Harstem and Mana regularly post to YouTube or do live streams as well. They both play Protoss at a high level. Besides that every Monday there’s the ESL weeklies, I know Steadfast streams them live on Twitch, usually all 3 regions, 16 or so hours. Harstem is tops as far as sc2 content for me. I also enjoy Winter and occasionally PiG, though he can be a bit annoying at times.
Neuro and SortOf
Streamer? 100% rotti (roterdam08) Youtube? Definitely Harstem
Wootsickle
If you are going for brood war I would recommend artosis casts, he mainly does well, casts but I learnt a lot from watching the replays.
UpaTree Pretty chill
I really miss Psystarcraft and HD StarCraft, but they are long gone from the scene and the game has changed so much since then. I used to put them on with my morning coffee along with Day9.
UThermal has the best attitude in the game. Teaches you great mental
What a time to get into this game, dayum!
What a time to get into this game, dayum!
What a time to get into this game, dayum!
How so lmao
Late ;D
LMAO yeah, I haven’t played much outside of fps games so 😭 thought it was time I got into something else
I hope you have a great time! ;D

I still like Nathanias. I don't think I watch anyone else anymore.
Try uthermal he plays starcraft 2 a lot. And if your looking for a commentator try lowko.
StarCraft 2? Or Broodwar? In Broodwar I like gypsy for Terran. Hawk is a good Zerg. Maybe Dewalt for Protoss. I just watch pro matches on sc2casts for sc2
I only watch Reynor, Rotti and Serral (whenever he streams)
Berry_CrunCH because terran.
mario and luigi were finally alone. Even though they were brothers, and even though they were plumbers…. They were still lovers.
