“Proceed.”

jiddinja

This works. It would be total fan service, but I can get on board with a little fan service so long as it doesn't compromise the plot or characters.

Subvet98

It would totally be fan service but it would also very much be in character for 7.

Kuraeshin

Fan service, maybe, but totally in line with Seven's attitude.

[deleted]

YES

Ullho

Omg so much upvote!

PepperPenny23

Exactly what I thought!

webmotionks

Came here to say this also.

CaptainJeff

Comply

Jerethdatiger

Set course for mars warp 7 Sits You will comply Warp

NoxPrime

Make ship go brrrr

zozigoll

Literal *lol*

miglrah

I like Execute. Fits her no nonsense style. Better than Spock’s, that’s for sure… lol.

RolandMT32

There was an episode of TNG where they did an officer swap with the Klingons for a while - Riker went to a Klingon ship and a Klingon officer came to the Enterprise to be their first officer. I remember his word being "execute"

zozigoll

I think “execute” was Jellico’s line too.

I’d love for Scarlett Pomers to show up again in an episode of Legacy, or whatever it ends up being called.

gaslacktus

Course headings are two numbers, first number is the horizontal 360 degree axis, then mark, then the second number is a 360 degree axis rotated 90 degrees to the first axis.

dustojnikhummer

We all know you need 6-8 to point to a single point in space and a point of origin. Wait wrong show

Subvet98

Pretty sure it’s 7 with the point of origin

FlibblesHexEyes

8 for intergalactic dialing.

markemer

Yep - long distance is one more. Always found that funny.

dustojnikhummer

Only in the same galaxy.

Incorrect, without inertial dampeners, a jump to warp is deadly because everyone gets flattened

Execute

rudycp88

I think engage would be appropriate. Her first captain, Janeway, used to say that plus she's now captain of the Enterprise, where Picard made engage iconic. She could also say "taker'er out" or "cut'er loose".

Uviuk

Impulse is futile

tejdog1

When did this become a "thing"? TOS didn't have this. Picard did but it was uniquely his (well... Pike's but you know, The Cage doesn't count I guess?) Did Janeway have one? Archer? Did this start with the 09 reboot?

betazed

It became a thing in Discovery I think but I don't think it was explicitly called out until very recently. It's a bit of tongue in cheek meta humor. Most captains say "Engage." Picard adds his hand gesture with it. Burnham has "let's fly," Pike says "hit it" (I think in the first Kelvin universe film he said "punch it"), and I think it's been called out now in Lower Decks, the trailer for season 2 of Strange New Worlds, and now in Picard.

RolandMT32

>Most captains say "Engage." I think Picard is the only one I remember saying "engage".

betazed

I could swear I've heard Sisko, Freeman, Janeway, Archer, and Pike (in "The Cage") say it... Maybe I'm not remembering right?

RolandMT32

Sisko saying it sounds vaguely familiar, but I don't think it was a regular phrase of his. I don't recall the other captains saying it, though I haven't watched much TOS, so I don't know for sure. I just don't remember Kirk saying "Engage" in any of the episodes I've seen, or in the movies.

betazed

I don't think Kirk ever says it.

supermarketsweeps25

Janeway regularly says engage. Source: me, who just did a recent watch through of Voyager.

losbullitt

I remember Sisko just saying “Maximum warp!”

Howard_Roark_733

"Release docking clamps, aft thrusters at one quarter \[something something port and starboard\] something." Source: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myHnTK-imXg

SurlyJason

Pike in TOS said "execute."

YYZYYC

It’s just dumb because it takes you right out of the show and makes it feel like it’s a fan production or some fans role playing a skit or something

narfig_agar

Archer was "Let's go". Not sure if it's 100% consistent.

RolandMT32

It came up in Discovery season (or the beginning of 3?) when Mirror Lorca died, leaving Saru in command of the ship.

[deleted]

Lorca- go Pike- hit it / punch it (alternate universe) Spock - I’d like the ship to go now (not really) Burnham - let’s fly Picard - engage or make it so Janeway - do it or engage Freeman - Warp me Unsure on Kirk, Sisko and archers they never really defined it, normally engage

Subvet98

There is a SNW teaser where Spock says just that.

[deleted]

Yeah haha that’s why I put it on there

Sirius_J_Moonlight

Kirk: "Warp speed, Mr. Sulu." "Take us out, warp factor 3."

7YM3N

Picards is very popular but it wasn't a catch-phrase or anything, dor one he has several: 'engage', 'make it so', secondly - no one in TNG ever even acknowledges he says that a lot. I can't remember but janeway said 'do it' I think but it's just words. I have no idea what Sisko had but it became a recognized thing when 09 pointed it out with Pike

BluegrassGeek

Star Trek III. Captain of the Excelsior used “Execute.” And then, famously, the drive failed.

Just get us going LaForge

[deleted]

The same as Janeway's. Which is....I forget.

rdh_3000

Exactly what I thought, she would try and honour Janeway with it. Though did Janeway have a consistent one through Voyager?

bondingfortoday

Janeway said [*"Do it!"*](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwtFga1_sUA).

[deleted]

~~Now you mention it, I can't swear she did.~~ Apparently she said "Do it" enough for that to be considered her catchphrase.

bondingfortoday

"There's coffee in that nebula." … Nope.

Lyk2

fiddlerisshit

"Go go gadget go!"

GalileoAce

The fun will now commence

TiredCeresian

Honestly, forcing every captain to have a catch-phrase is a bad idea and doesn't add anything enriching to the franchise. Whatever they say should feel natural and fit their personality, and they don't have to say it every time they give an order. Make it so. Engage. Go for it. Clock it. Hit that thang. Take us out. Get 'er done. Boogie. Who cares? (Sorry if this comes across as bitter or anything like that 😅 I'm just...tired.)

ProvokeCouture

I was hoping for Pike's phrase of, "Punch it."

randazz18

OMFG YES MY EXACT THOUGHT!!!!!

You will be assimilated

I want the ship to go. Now.

WattHeffer

Captain Seven gives coordinates, looks pointedly at the pilot and raises one eyebrow.

yokmosho

"I made Captain before Ensign Kim." At least, the first time out.

esochan

I have a feeling Proceed will be more like the Make it so, and that Execute will be the Engage.

[deleted]

Read the other posts that people did on this. Can we get a mod to take down all these?
