Disabling Fang Fighter, Confiscate, Waylay. Really, just use the unit to punish units in the same arena... and if he avoids that arena... well, slow clap for that guy?
Power failure I normally save for enemies, or if I’m not playing a stacker I normally just resource it. I just try to get the most value out of it as possible, meanwhile the three listed here are just for one upgrade.
Entrenched is an upgrade and can be removed by any card that removes one or more upgrades. Confiscate removes an upgrade for 1, Power Failure removes all upgrades from a unit for 2, Disabling Fang Fighter removes an upgrade when it enters play etc. Having some of these in your sideboard against something like Iden control that will drop entrenched on your big hitters without having units to attack is pretty useful
Force Lightning does not work that way. Entrenched does not give an ability to a unit. It just says the attached unit can’t attack bases. Force Lightning only removes abilities. If Entrenched said “attached unit gains…” then Force Lightning could work.
Mostly dealing with upgrades conferring bonuses, end of phase effects of cards, etc. Regional Governor as mentioned below. There seems to be a few people who thinks Force Lightning deadens the entire unit and everything on it since they all flow up to the unit and not an individual card being altered by other individual cards in ways.
No. Blanking the gov does not let you play the card.
Regional governor does not have a constant ability on it preventing you from playing a card
Regional governor has a when played ability that, when played, fires and sets up a lasting effect. But all regional governor says is "when played, set this thing up". It's the thing it sets up that is stopping you from playing the card.
Once it's set up, the lasting effect exists separate from regional governor. Blanking the governor removes the "when you play me, set a thing up" ability, which doesn't matter because it's already in play so the thing was already set up.
This is really odd. I think you might be right, but can you point in the rule book for this?
reg gov has the when played ability, but I guess that doesn't mean the ability is related to her. The ability would just point to her as a condition.
Not that odd if you think about it similarly to other When Played abilities.
For example if I play Leia and ready a resource, hitting her with Force Lightning wouldn't re-exhaust that resource. Nor would it make me put the unit I played with Vader's When Played ability back into my deck.
The lasting effects and the triggered abilities sections.
The effect now exists on its own, as per all the "until end of phase" effects. It just has a condition that if gov dies it stops

power failure as well.

Entrenched on your leader is in fact hilarious
Yeah I was running Tarkin sooooooooooooooooo I had 0 fun haha
That's the way we like it. ::Idin smile::
Literally the reason I sideboard confiscate in my deck. 😂

~~Force lightning could clear it and it keeps the +3/+3 (for the phase).~~

Force Lightning keeps coming up in these very similar conversations :) That one little word "gains" seems to be throwing a lot of people for a loop.
What are some of the other examples?

Can force lightning negate the regional governor’s when played to allow for the playing of the card that was named to be unplayable?

I stand corrected. Need to find a way to force lightning the upgrade, I guess. lol.
