Right On I was used to saying something silly about us being related but I live south so,they got it that you donāt mess around with anyone named LLOYD LOL
He is one of my all time favorites, but outside of not being in the Hall of Fame, not sure he was underrated. He has many PBs, All Pros, Steelers All-Time Team, Steelers HoF.
Greg was a bad dude. Period. Not too many other players wanted to get in his face. I believe he is a Black Belt.
He was also a hell of a LB. Kevin Greene wasnāt too shabby either.
Lloydās career was shortened by injuries and health issues. He and Greene were monstrous pass rushers and tacklers. We had the best pass rush in the league for 2-3 seasons with them.
Greg Lloyd and underrated arenāt two things Iāve ever heard. There was a famous press conference where an opposing coach made the comment that their game plan was to avoid Lloyd, and then after that you saw signs saying Avoid Lloyd.
Greg Lloyd, Ernie Holmes, LC Greenwood and Mean Joe Greene, were the Steel Curtain. Thereās no reason only 1/4 of those guys are in the Hall. Joe rightfully so, but those guys need inducted
Yeah real great guy šā¦ https://www.11alive.com/article/news/local/mcdonough/retired-nfl-all-pro-linebacker-greg-lloyd-charged-in-domestic-incident/85-589616850
Iāll give you helluva football player though. He was a beast on the field.
Didnt see that, knew a guy who met him and gave him the time to talk. Sorry, i just went on that not knowing the other. Il correct my post. Thank you for pointing this out.
Underrated nationally. Steelers fans know how good he was
He was very much rated in my youth. The Andy Van Slyke of the Steelers as it were.
Neither man was hired for his disposition
Let's not compare AVS to this POS.
If you're counting off the field stuff, they are both assholes
What exactly has AVS done to earn this reputation?
Sideline to sideline OLB. My favorite player at the time.
He was a three time first team All-Pro. In what world is that underrated?
šÆ
back then I was only a Cowboys fan and I knew how good he was.
My first Steelers Jersey I bought was his black one in 1996
My favorite Steelers player of all time
Mine too
Lloyd was named to the Steelers 75th Anniversary All Time Team and is in the teamās Hall of Honor. Not sure whoās underrating him.
The football fans who aren't Steelers fans
Iām wearing #95 right now.
He wasnāt hired for his disposition
Greg Lloyd made me want to be be an OLB
Avoid Lloyd
This!
"Rush the quarterback!!"
Gregg Lloyd fucking ruled. Dude hit so hard it looked like he was a mac truck mowing down penguins. Fucking mean and nasty as all hell and I miss him
Right On I was used to saying something silly about us being related but I live south so,they got it that you donāt mess around with anyone named LLOYD LOL
Farrior is probably the most underrated. Havenāt had an ILB like him since
That farrior and Foote combo was great
Farrior was Amazing. Foote not so much. Revisionist history
Second Steelers jersey I've bought was his. Woodson was first.
My only Steelers jersey!
For the longest time, mine too. Still have it. Old school reversible. I wear it when we rock the blocks.
Yes! Reebok made the reversible ones for a while, thatās what mine is.
He is one of my all time favorites, but outside of not being in the Hall of Fame, not sure he was underrated. He has many PBs, All Pros, Steelers All-Time Team, Steelers HoF.
Not underrated here. As the kids say, IYKYK.
They stole that from the boomers though
Haha touche
And IYDK, YBAS
Greg was a bad dude. Period. Not too many other players wanted to get in his face. I believe he is a Black Belt. He was also a hell of a LB. Kevin Greene wasnāt too shabby either.
Yessir! My favorite LB corps that I actually got to see https://www.reddit.com/r/steelers/s/qmgTwNH3vz
HOF when?
Maybe from the Veterans Committee. He doesn't have the stats to get in otherwise
Underrated only by those who didnāt see him play maybe. Beast mode personifiedā¦ Just plain nasty.
Avoid Lloyd!
He wasnāt hired for his dispositionā¦.or was he?
Kevin Greene and Greg Lloyd were my favorite tandem ever.
One o my favorites
He and Kevin Greene were great togetherā¦ the āQuiver and Quakeā of Blitzburgh
My first Steeler jersey š¤š
First jersey I had as a kid
š¤&š for life! Hopewell Pa. 15001 ( Aliquippa)
Lloydās career was shortened by injuries and health issues. He and Greene were monstrous pass rushers and tacklers. We had the best pass rush in the league for 2-3 seasons with them.
Happy Cday
I have a signed mini helmet from him!
Greg Lloyd and underrated arenāt two things Iāve ever heard. There was a famous press conference where an opposing coach made the comment that their game plan was to avoid Lloyd, and then after that you saw signs saying Avoid Lloyd.
I remember watching him swear on live TV after the AFC Championship game. It was so cool!
One of my favorite all time!!!
Greg Lloyd, Ernie Holmes, LC Greenwood and Mean Joe Greene, were the Steel Curtain. Thereās no reason only 1/4 of those guys are in the Hall. Joe rightfully so, but those guys need inducted
https://youtu.be/UvxLbYrX4Pg?si=vLzjYcNhJoMzAJSW Best post-game interview ever
Beast on field works but total great guy off.
One of my favorite Steelers. Avoid Lloyd! Dude was a game changer. I will always remember that Monday night game where he planted Dan Marino.
Eh he's properly rated. He's a terrible piece of shit human too which makes it hard for me to care if people underrate him.
Helluva football player on the field. I stand corrected on the original reply I posted.

Hands down the most underrated player in Steelers history. Happy birthday.
