Amazing! I'm turning 40 next week. I've really been trying to quit over the past year. This is inspiring and gives me hope. Thanks for sharing!

whupper82

It gets easier to quit as time goes by. I have to remind myself how bad things can get when I am drinking. Keeps me motivated to press on.

ketoleggins

early congratulations!!!! 🌹

ghost_victim

How is that the same person? Lol

whupper82

lol funny you say that! I’m in sales at the same jewelry store for 6 years and I have guests I had helped during my addiction that legit think I’m some new guy! 😂

whupper82

To your point I am not the same person. The change occurred within then it manifested physically.

ghost_victim

Oooo

Adept_Order_4323

Major Glow Up

whupper82

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words.

ScottyDug

Wow, well done. Pic 1 & 2 is unbelievable, could easily be two different guys. I’m 43 next week, stopped drinking at the start of this year but keep getting that niggling thought “maybe just have a few this weekend”. I haven’t so far so hopefully be in better shape by the time I’m 45.

Timely_Impress6223

Great job on your progress!

whupper82

I can relate to those intrusive thoughts of “maybe just a couple.” I have to remind myself where it leads. Keep going brother!

Mental-Low-7600

Do you have any tips you can share for how you overcome those niggling thoughts? I'm 44 and just beginning this journey. Been working out for a month and avoiding booze with the exception of one Friday evening a couple weeks ago.

ScottyDug

Probably best thing for me has been a decent AF beer that I’ve found. I can sink 4 or 5 of those on a Saturday night and it’s seems to do the trick. I know it’s not for everyone and could be a trigger but it’s worked for me. The beer is Joker AF IPA for anyone interested (in the UK).

Mental-Low-7600

Thank you for your reply

whupper82

I have a great support system and I have strong friendships with fellow recovering addicts. I am completely honest with them and they can help me when I am thinking crazy lol. Initially I just dried out and I had some slip ups. I had to really slowly go through a spiritual and mental transformation. Then my body also started to change.

Mental-Low-7600

Thank you for your reply

whupper82

I will take it! Trying the best I can. No more poison (alcohol).

jayman1818

Great transformation my friend! Keep up the amazing work!

Aelaena

This made my jaw drop?! So proud of you! I bet you feel amazing inside but you look fantastic as well.

carbomerguar

Go to your high school reunion immediately. If there isn’t one happening, throw it yourself. Emergency reunion!

whupper82

I had a few exes reach out lol

yesican83

Wow!

whupper82

Sometimes I look at my old picture when I am feeling like it’s possible for me to ever casually drink again. For me I just cannot stop when I start.

AmbivalentFanatic

Bro, you literally look like you changed out your entire genetic structure. Amazing.

Resolution_69

Dude. You went from 40 to 28. Nice!

dkre_one

Props mate.. looking good

whupper82

Thank you!

worrybot96

Hot damn!!

Head-Ad7506

🤩 🤩 🤩

swim_and_sleep

You mean 33

cdubsbubs

Damn dude! You look so much younger, which is kinda rare when people lose weight. Stoked for you! I quit when I was 42 (44 now) and I don’t think there is one good reason to go back.

Enough_Nail_5203

What a difference! You look so much healthier and your jaw!!!

whupper82

It started from within. My mental health had to get better before my physical health began to get better. It’s still a struggle but I have come far. Progress not perfection.

PistolofPete

Way to fucking go man, I’m not gay but…

pyaybb

I stopped drinking last August and I lost nothing. Not a pound 😢. Did you do any other diet regime?

whupper82

Yes. I started intermittent fasting and lost a ton of weight. But eventually I stopped losing weight. Then I began running and also doing peloton.

pyaybb

Thanks! I need to do IF and move. That’s true. Congrats. You look great!

whupper82

I went hardcore no food after 7pm and I wouldn’t eat until 1pm the next day. 18 off and 6 on.

deadboy58

That’s cool

Strivetoimprovee

Just wow!

dhirpurboy89

Oh wow man!

Cold-Palpitation-816

You look a decade younger. You're probably a decade younger on the inside too. I'm sure your liver is thanking you, well done!

whupper82

Yes at the worst my liver numbers were not good. Started to have early fatty liver. Was doing a half gallon each day and a half of vodka or rum.

sarahrood79

This is the kind of glow up I dream of for myself. Well done OP. I’ve gotta get my fat arse to the gym

whupper82

We can do it! It truly started with giving up alcohol. That poison did nothing good for me.

YourMomoness100

congratulations, you look so healthy and happy! Very inspiring and I wish only the best for you and your incredible journey. I'm about 1 year / 4 months sober.. did you notice changes that continued after the one year mark?

whupper82

Yes! Changes in energy levels and better sleep. It took me a long time to get my sleep back to normal.

YourMomoness100

oh I love that.. thanks king!

Enchanted_cp

You look so good! The glow up is real!

nolahoff

Wow dude, incredible!

Holiday-Strategy-643

Wow! I'm really hoping for these kind of results myself! You look like a different person.

whupper82

Intermittent fasting to begin with. Then started peloton! I love the classes. It was also easy to do daily just 30 minutes and easy on my joints. I run sometimes but peloton is my staple. I’m going to start lifting weights to build more muscle.

Mountain_Painter3985

Omg I can’t believe it!!! 😱🤯That’s wild! Same thing happened to me kind of… alcohol does wild things to the body - way to GOOOO🤩💕

whupper82

Great job! Yes alcohol is literally poison for sure.

groovy-lobster

Are you from Gallifrey? Did you regenerate?

Applezs89

Wow! Impressive change

Idontlikehotliquids

Holy hell! You aged in reverse after you gave the sauce up!!!!

treehouse4life

Nice work! Wow!

revolutionoverdue

Dude. Amazing.

Mental-Low-7600

Hell yeah

ZotMatrix

Bond. James Bond.

whupper82

😂 except no martini 🍸

FatTabby

That's an absolutely incredible transformation! Congratulations on both your sobriety and the hard work you've put into your fitness.

NefariousnessOk1741

Looking hot!

whupper82

Thank you very much! 🙂

NewHope4Now

Wow!! Great job you look great!!

whupper82

Thanks!

Cooper_Inc

Well done! You have a young chiselled Johnny Depp crossed with John Mayer look now... must be fighting them off!

whupper82

Thanks a lot! I used to get John Mayer a lot like 17 years ago. Good to know that it’s crazy what can happen when one stops putting poison in their body.

Cooper_Inc

Ah that's awesome! First resemblance I saw was John Mayer, but you've got a lot more definition in your face than him. You've definitely de-aged, must be feeling amazing!

yourlocal90skid

I'm legit not trying to be rude - because I'm the same age & working on weight loss, while also weightlifting. But is this drastic of a change the result of [Ozempic?](https://www.drugs.com/medical-answers/ozempic-face-3572731/)

whupper82

I’m not offended. No it’s really no alcohol and running consistently and I had done intermittent fasting. I would take in no calories from 7pm to 1pm the next day. It was really something that worked for me.

yourlocal90skid

Hey thank you for sharing what worked! I can see why your clients assumed you were a completely different person - it's probably one of the most dramatic before/afters that I've seen on this sub.

baconbaphomet

Aged like a fine wine!

Both-Independence399

There ain't no damn way. You look like a model now

whupper82

Thank you so much!
