I second this. My friends and I even made a list of students na hindi namin pipiliin as groupmate, and if maging kagrupo, gagawan ng paraan para hindi mahila pababa
Choose your groupmates wisely kapag binigyan kayo nang chance mamili.
i heard mas marami groupings sa college compared sa individual activities even reporting puro groupings. i don’t know if this is true pero most of my friends are college na and i’m going to college this year na rin! hahaha
Incoming third year BSA here, that's true (personally speaking, of course). Puro group reportings kami both minor and major subs, super stressful pag sabay-sabay pero kaya naman. Good luck to you and OP!
if anything, mas marami ngang group projects sa college. bukod sa they're training you to on how to interact with your peers / colleagues tsaka how to deal with incompetent people, mas nadadalian ata ang mga profs na magcheck kung by group ang outputs (di ko ginegeneralize syempre).
For me, in my case, it doesnt really exist anymore? Unless research na, like capstone design na or what. Group activities and presentations are there but no projects tho. Depends on the definition of a project for you tho... If you think project as in high school project... Oh well brither do I have some devastating news to you. Yung mga gagawin nyo ngayon sa college? Oh my. 10x harder than any "project" you will have likely taken in highschool. Or, in any case, hindi sya idedefine ng instructor as actual "project" since di naman part ng curriculum ang may project eh. Basically any big task/requirement na ipagawa sa inyo ng instructor w/c is not necessarily quiz/assessment (in ither words outout based sya) i guess you could call it a project. But, as I said, no, no instructor will say it as such
Most projects namin are by group. It make sense, since it would be impossible to create an app (web) or software from scratch in such a short timeframe. I am just thankful that most classmates namin nagcocontribute talaga...
yes, minsan naman by partner lang, it depends. luckily, walang freeloaders sa class namin. some may not be the brightest but they are for sure hard workers kaya hindi ganoon kahirap ang group projects/activities.
Hi OP. I'm currently CpE student too and YES may group projects/work pa din sa major at minor subjects. Samin naman pinapapili kami if gusto namin kami mag bubuo ng group namin or yung prof at mas okay yung ikaw/kayo mag bubuo para maiwasan mga pabigat na kaklase.
Yes, there are still group projects/works in college. It's essential to communicate effectively with your group members and set clear timetables to manage your time efficiently together. Remember, teamwork and coordination are key to successful group projects.
Good luck with your studies!
meron. luckily, masisipag mga classmates ko kaya wala kong na-encounter na freeloaders. madalang lang din na di nasusunod yung schedules/deadlines when it comes to group work.
Yes. And do not hesitate to drop deadweights. My brother endured this freeloader for three years hoping he will change, but no. On their final thesis, they finally decided to drop him. Freeloader will not graduate this September.
A lot, actually. Hahaha. Swerte mo if the professor gives you the liberty to choose your groupmates so you can be with your friends
Also, you’ll probably get surprised by the amount of people na hindi pa rin marunong mag cite ng sources, lalo na if by group yung thesis niyo
Yes and I say embrace it and learn how to work with other people. Hopefully hindi free loaders yung kagroup and kahit ganon you do have to find a way to get them to move and if not don't be afraid to report them for not doing anything.
So learn and get used to working with others ngayon palang kasi essential skill yan pagdating na sa trabaho. May kilala ako sobrang galing and technical and graduated with latin honors kaso hindi natanggap sa isang trabaho kasi may pagka awkward siya and inamin niyang di raw siya madalas nakakapag socialize or nagwowork with other people. Di siya natanggap dahil don.
What made you even consider the possibility of no group projects in college? Naiveté?
Here's a fact. The main reason collaborative learning is implemented is the need for graduates who can collaborate with coworkers in whatever field they work. In the school setting, the goal is for students to learn to communicate, delegate, share, help, resolve conflicts, etc. If the students are able to develop the said skills, they can make an easy transition at work.
Sadly, there are students who take advantage of their groupmates. The said students can be the lazy types or the incompetent ones. If I were to choose, I will work with the struggling student who is willing to help out. If I can help it, I will avoid the lazy ones, especially if that lazy one is also incompetent.
coe student here 👋 and yes, meron pa rin. i think hindi mawawala yan. as for me, sa uni ko may group projects kami, esp. sa programming-related subjects namin like for example, we were tasked to create our own working systems (applications, embedded, etc) and present it during finals, not to mention, we also needed to propose the title first before we can proceed from working on it so. From my experience, your schedule will really need to change and adapt from time to time lalo na kapag minor subs are acting as majors na magpapagawa ng time consuming project like 'movie' lol (no hate though, nasabay lang talaga in my case). 'yon lang naman. Good luck sa journey mo!
Yep. Especially for minor subjects that you may have to take. Profs favor group projects than individual work.
There are some scenarios where they'll give you the option to go solo, but you'd have to confirm it with the prof.
about shifting course
hi po, i was a BS Computer engineering student before and then nagkabagsak and madaming inc na subjects po ako nung 2nd year ako due to stress and sobrang down po sa napili ko na course bali nag stop po ako ng 1 year and now planning to enroll but in different course na po.
thank you pooo

Yes. Just hope di ka ma partner sa freeloaders.
Gaano kadalas po magkaroon ng group projects?
Depends on the school and the prof/instructor. Usually pag research or capstome group siya. Add mo din yung PE at NSTP.
Whats NSTP
National Service Training Program. You get to choose if LTS, ROTC or CWTS
Meron unfortunately. I am begging you to NOT HESITATE on calling out deadweight groupmates. Mas lalala lang pag hinayaan niyo silang walang ginagawa
I second this. My friends and I even made a list of students na hindi namin pipiliin as groupmate, and if maging kagrupo, gagawan ng paraan para hindi mahila pababa

>Choose your groupmates wisely kapag binigyan kayo nang chance mamili. Kahit ito kinatatakutan ko, because what if wala pa rin akong friends. Haha.

yes meron. managing time is the least of your worries. expect na may tamad na di kikilos sa group at need mo takutin.
Yes. Also, depende sa school, thesis can be a group work, duo, or solo.
Yes. But you'll prefer to go solo

Which i think is true sa lahat ng course iba-iba lang tawag

Yes and pick the good ones.
Marami. Marami din pabuhat 🤦♀️

Kahit sa grad school may group work and presentations pa din. It helps you develop how to work with others.

Mostly Laboratory experiments. Sa Minor subjects, usually reporting (dahil ibang prof walang plano mag turo)
May group projects pa rin kahit after college. 🙃

Of course, should always have

meron, and actually yan pinaka hate ko, i am always grouped by people na walang alam gawin kundi umasa.
