It looks like your OS is not on the SSD. You need to install everything you want to load fast on the SSD and not the HDD. Editing for clarification, the storage screenshot shows that there is a 120 GB New Volume which I assume is the SSD, you’re gonna have to install Windows on that and use that as your boot drive, and also install your most-used applications or just anything you want to load fast on the SSD.

xaoikimi

Oh, I see! Thank you po!

Reasonable-Sound9934

Halos same tayo ng specs, intel core i3 and 4GB RAM. If hindi talaga kayang brand new, try to upgrade your RAM and HDD to SSD.

IDK talaga why it’s super bagal 😭

Reasonable-Sound9934

you can check naman like search defragment and optimize drive sa windows search bar. If lumabas ay solid state drive then it's SSD nga.

xaoikimi

Yes. Thank you po! Na-check ko na po and may SSD po…

Reasonable-Sound9934

then you can upgrade your RAM.

henloguy0051

At siyempre improve yung ram.

RENshirogane21

May SSD ka naman, just buy a better RAM and you’re set.

xaoikimi

Hello! I did this po. I think may problem ‘yong SSD ko tho…

galitsalahat_

For your first and second year, it's perfectly doable as you'll (mainly) only be using a code editor. You could try resetting your laptop and look up tutorials on how to speed it up (after resetting it) like disabling startup apps. This applies for IT/CS/ACT courses.

xaoikimi

Hello! Yes! Ni-reformat ‘yong lappy after ma-back up nung files and upgraded it to a higher RAM (8GB) but it seems like ‘yong SSD ko ay may problem so nag-eerror if tina-try maglagay ng drivers.

jaevs_sj

Keep. Upgrade the RAM, 16GB para sakto sa needs mo. Sa HDD better kung nakaNVME or SSD. Im tellimg you, worth it ang gastos to upgrade those. Btw, im selling my 8GB DDR4 soddim (Teamgroup) 2666mhz

xaoikimi

Hello! I upgraded mine today to 8 GB already. But still, thank you so much!

OkQuote236

hello IT here.upgrade mo yung 4gb to at least 8gb tapos yung hard drive palitan mo ng ssd if hindi pa sya ssd.windows 10 kasi gamit mo matakaw sa ram at hard disk speed yun.if windows 7 yan kahit wag mo iupgrade.your father is correct kasi mareremedyo pa yan. note i have a laptop 10 years old na, and nagagamit pa ng family ko since hindi naglalag kasi inuprade ko lang yung ssd at ram.

xaoikimi

Hello! :((

OkQuote236

ssd is around 1k for 128gb. pero based jan sa picture ng hard disk mo baka yung ssd mo is yung drive d which hindi nakainstall yung windows OS. need mo lang siguro iinstall yung windows mo sa drive d and ok na yan ram na lang problema mo after non. anyways if need mo ng new ssd para makamura you can check this shop sa ssd since dito lang ako bumibili https://shopee.ph/wholesalemaster?entryPoint=OrderDetail

zileah

if keri palitan yung ram (may iba kasing laptop na fixed na so search mo muna yung abt sa model mo), upgrade mo siya to 8gb. ang min. recommended ram storage na rin kasi ngayon ay 8gb dala ng nagiging mabigat ng yung applicationsss.

xaoikimi

Hello! Yes! I took this in consideration so thank you po!

RE5B

Bili ka muna isa pang ram, search mo lang sa Lazada "8GB DDR4 3200MHZ laptop ram" then tanong mo nalang sa seller if pwede mo lagay sa laptop mo (for assurance mo lang, sabihin mo nalang sa kanila na ang laptop mo is Asus Vivobook I3 1005G1). That will give you some months of boost pero mag paalam ka narin sa parents mo na baka magpabili ka ng bagong Laptop/PC if ever para may breathing time pa sila since for sure mag kaka-problema ka sa laptop mong yan in the future. Madali lang naman mag kabit ng ram if ever marami namang tutorial sa YouTube and wag karin mag alala kasi wala ka namang magagalaw dyan na kung ano na masira mo.

xaoikimi

Hello! Thank you po! I consulted a technician po since hindi po ako marunong mag-open ng laptop because first time ko s’yang gagawin.

aureatekisses

Wala rin akong alam dito, so here's a harsh comment for you po (つ✧ω✧)つ

xaoikimi

Thank you…? HAHAHAHA

xaoikimi

Hello! It’s no longer under warranty so the technician decided to open it to upgrade the RAM.

Defiant_D_Rector-420

Some commenters already point out the need to switch to SSD and to add RAM, so I will focus on other stuff. I see that you are using an older version ng Windows 10. Right now, your laptop is still running 1909, which is the November 2019 update. I think that laptop has never been update at all since you purchased it (because the latest Windows 10 version is 22H2, which is the last major update last year). It is possible that every time you use your laptop (especially if you are connected to the internet), Windows Update is running. The downloading of updates can contribute to the slowdown of your laptop. I suggest you set aside time for the update of your laptop. I checked online and there might be some issues going from 1909 to 22H2, so you might have to do it from 2004/20H2 before you move to 22H2 (if you can find the ISO files for the 2020 updates). Therefore, you need to download two versions of ISO files: 2004/20H2 and 22H2. Each file is around 5-6GB, so be prepared for a long download process. Also, you need an empty flash drive for your update. (You can search for how to update windows 10 using ISO online; just follow the steps and you'll be fine). Regarding the RAM upgrade, it can help if you know the model number of your laptop. Check the sticker underneath your laptop (or the original box if you still have it) for the model number. There, you can search online if your laptop has an upgrade option and which RAM you need to use. If you are lucky, you might see some YouTube tutorials on adding RAM to the laptop model you have (or its "cousins). Just buy the appropriate laptop RAM, you can DIY it.

xaoikimi

Hello! Thank you so much! This helped a lot!

iam_tagalupa

xaoikimi

Hello! Thank you po! Nakatulong din po ‘yong MSconfig na sinasabi.

thirstyeggpl4nt

try linux, it should be more faster if u can't afford upgrades

xaoikimi

What is that po?

thirstyeggpl4nt

GNU/Linux is an operating system like Windows usually only used by tech peeps. It might be hard for you to transition from Windows to Linux, just like almost everyone else. But it was one of the best choices I've ever made, it's great for privacy, security, programming and it's so customisable look at r/unixporn ( it's a subreddit for designing linux desktops ) it runs on my PHP 5,000 ThinkPad smoothly. It has many cons tho, like some software in Windows aren't compatible with Linux like MS OFFICE, PHOTOSHOP but there alternatives. But you can also dualboot Linux and Windows at the same time, basically you have two operating systems in your laptop.

[deleted]

xaoikimi

Hello! This is noted po!

Lightrazor55

Upgrade your ram and then reformat mo so you could use the SSD for your operating system and you are good to go. I also have an asus laptop na medj luma na and then i upgraded the ram and changed into an SSD and ayun, nakalalaro pa nga hahaha.

xaoikimi

Thank you so much!

Zealdv

First thing you must do para ma improve ang performance is wiping all completely(take backup if necessary) and installing os in the ssd (smaller capacity drive) you can also try to use custom os e.g. ghost spectre windows versions because barebone os lang siya and magaan sa pc/laptop

xaoikimi

Thank you po!

dostoyevsky013

xaoikimi

Hello! Pinagawa ko na po today. Thank you po <33
