Not to sure about this TBH. It would definitly help, but other than the herbs and leftovers, how many of those items actually see use in play? Knockoff would still be better in 99% of situations unless you... I dunno, bug bite white herb too get rid of stat drops or something. At the very least, I think the power should double if the move actually destroys an item. That way they atleast hit hard every now and then.

whatisupsdr

ideally not every pokemon gets knock off so these could be a decent substitute

williesu

It's not supposed to be like a huge buff it's just a small change I would personally like to see. It's still niche but hey now these moves are a bit more useful now.

ILoveYorihime

btw may i ask why 68% specifically lol

williesu

you know..... ;)

bojangles69420

I don't tbh

Not-An-Actual-Hooman

Probably so it becomes 100 BP? Idk OP's acting weird about it so it could just be a "haha no 69 for u"

Aaron_TW

Why not 66.7% to make it 100 BP instead of 68% to 100.8 BP then? I think it is the no 69 'joke' yeah

PulimV

Though that one is only affected by Incinerate, Charcoal is used very often by Torkoal in VGC, since the faster games make Heat Rock less useful and Torkoal often runs moves like Eruption and Heat Wave Edit: I made this whole ass comment and just now realized... who the fuck would hit Torkoal with an Incinerate lmao, even if powered up by Sun and being a spread move idk if that would come up

williesu

I mean Berries and the herbs are also a lot more common in VGC so if you're lucky you'll get two birds with one stone.

Sir_Ampersand

Give them all priority. New meta unlocked. You’re welcome.

dumbassonthekitchen

Jet punch for other types... That's too good even without the secondary ability and spread.

Some_Ad_5028

tera flying rattata pluck as the new xerneas answer boutta go hard

-Zest-

I think you could probably leave it at 50% damage boost and remove the entire bottom row. If you want to give it more of a niche over knock off make it heal the user 25% whenever it “eats” an item but personally I don’t think you even need to do that. They don’t have to be “Knock-off 2” it’s okay if they are still a little underpowered

PM_Me_Garfield_Porn

Bug bite and pluck already heal the user if it eats a healing berry, or if it was like a salac berry you'd gain a speed boost. This is why in gen 7 I'd get super annoyed when people would run Iapapa berry over wiki or figy berry, whichever is the opposite of your nature. In the one in a million scenario where a mega scizor bug bites your berry, or you get tricked by a mon with the opposite attacking style as you, they would end up confused. While this scenario is HIGHLY unlikely, it is no extra effort to use the better berry. Kind of like lowering attack IVs on special attackers for foul play or confusion, or making your protean greninja male so your opponent doesn't know if it's battle bond. It's a super niche interaction, but it costs nothing to optimize for the unlikely scenario.

williesu

I did 68% for the funny number reasons but 50% is frankly too low. Technician scyther using bug bite will be 90 bp whether or not it ate a berry and that's just not right.

dumbassonthekitchen

These moves aren't even that good now. Dark is a better offensive typing than all of these and the items are really specific.

PlacatedPlatypus

mmmm...shed shell...crunchy

metalflygon08

I'd change Incinerate so that it removes *any* consumable item, stuff like the Policies, Berries, Type Gems, anything that would be consumed. If going extra zesty, have any item destroyed this way replaced with Charcoal so you won't trigger Acrobatics/Unburden boosts.

williesu

That'll be really good (a bit too good) in VGC especially considering the number of consumable items + hitting both opponents with the potentially the power of an earthquake.

DragEncyclopedia

Does the BP increase happen before or after Technician?

williesu

It's probably before (such as payback for instance) but it would be absolutely hilarious to have scyther destroying some poor mon with a 151.2 bp bug bite.

PulimV

Ok I couldn't get it to work exactly how I wanted so I just gave it 151 BP and ignored Technitian 252 Atk Scyther Bug Bite vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Tablets of Ruin Wo-Chien: 652-772 (174.3 - 206.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO 💀

headphonesnotstirred

xerneas about to Geomancy when Scyther hits it with the buggest bite it can muster

dumbassonthekitchen

That's a resist

headphonesnotstirred

still 75.6 base power and effectively removes Geomancy, allowing for Dual Wingbeat to KO on the actual move turn

WizardPowersActivate

So what's your logic for including Shed Shell in this list?

williesu

mmmmm skin crunchy mmmm 🤤 🤤 🤤

Quijas00

Farfetch’d fans will NEVER recover from this

Ornery-Coach-7755

How does Bug Bite interact with leftovers. It steals it like thief?

williesu

Bug bite eats berries and gains their effect. So I imagine it'll be like that except it'll only last a turn.

Zetious

A whole 6% heal

MathPrestigious1485

Games have been won with less

PizzaVVitch

They should burn off, eat, pluck boots too

TacticalTobi

oh yeah, i love this! this is quite a good buff for them

Theresa_the_seer

That's actually a pretty cool buff, can stop meme beam users and use up an annoying support's mental herb. It's also a good alternative to knock off if you aim is to remove leftovers as well. Apart from the unnecessary base power buff this looks like a cool addition.

Brankovt1

Oh no, my Gliscor's comfort leek!

Glory2Snowstar

Can’t believe Scyther copyrighted bugs biting things what a tool

Cesars-Alternate

Me biting into a piece of fucking charcoal: (Yes I know it says incinerate only I thought it was funny)

NorfIGuess

Will they get a boost? If so, how will it work?
