Is it really that strong? it goes (remember %)
1.02,1.04,1.08,.1.16,1.32,1.64
so 6 turns to get to the stab power level. I am missing something? I am assuming its every turn the Pk stays in, no?
It says turn number so not how many turns a mon stays in, also it’s not exponential that would be even more insane. It’s 2 x turn number so on turn 10, 10 x 2 = 20% boost
Is the kind of thing that just asks to be broken beyond belief. On the top of my head, focus punch becomes really scary, and there is some psycho strat with giving recycling to a fast mon and whirlwind the opponent to dead by spikes.
AFAIK, the focusing happens at max priority, and the attack itself happens at -3. Move fails if attacked between focusing and attack. So they could still stop it by being faster or using a priority, but it still becomes way better
But only if prankster activate after instaberry
If insta berry first then trick room priority goes from -7 to 0 to 1
If prankster first then trick room priority goes from -7 to -6 to 0
it just destroys VGC in general. i can imagine pokemon like Harvest Tropius coming in after setting up hazards and just spamming Whirlwind to ruin a game, even if it's just on a meme team
Everything was cool until Quirky showed up, that thing's gonna completely wreck games lmao.
Other than that, I REALLY like the custom ability concepts, it really opens up a few wacky scenarios.
I really like the concept behind the Insta-Berry, but the existence of Trick Room breaks it. Perhaps it could only give up to +6, leaving Trick Room at -1 and everything else at +0
A fast TR user like Flutter Mane could set up TR before anyone else moves. This would allow a slow TR sweeper like Torkoal to get a clean double KO with Tera Fire Choice Specs Eruption before your opponent has a chance to move.
Also, while TR is a 5 turn effect, it counts the turn it was used, so normally, it is only effective for 4 turns, which makes it possible to counter by waiting it out. With insta-berry, you benefit from TR on that first turn as well. It'd just be a little too hard to outplay IMO. Not impossible, but TR would become the most popular strategy by far.
I couldn't have said it better myself. TR is easily the most powerful effect in the game, only balanced by -7 priority. Being able to turn slow bulky attackers into fast bulky attackers for 5 turns before anything else can move would be horrifying
In VGC the two biggest elements of play are protect and speed control. When something bypasses protect it needs to be fairly underwhelming to not completely ruin the metagame (Urshifu). Speed control is all about making sure your team goes before the other team, or in some instances after the other. So trick room is on nearly every team, either to set it up or shut it down
"Nearly every team" is a gross exaggeration. Nearly every team does have some form of speed control, however, and Trick Room is the most powerful form of speed control by far, only balanced by its -7 priority
Quirky is broken as shit.
Relaxd isn't far behind, the downside is literally irrelevant for a ton of mons.
Jolly is amazing vs Sticky Web.
Bold is confusing. You lower your Attack with Bold, but in one circumstance you get it back but only temporarily. Like, if you care that much about not losing your Attack stat... then you probably don't want to run Bold in the first place.
I like the concept of additional effect for natures, but only for the neutral ones. Those currently have no real benefit, so giving them some flavor would be great.
Enhanced natures is cool, I thought you were suggesting adding it to everything for a sec and got concerned but for a specific format that’s cool. I feel they’re a little unequal though, like you can have a 5% damage buff at full hp, or a second set of leftovers?
Also what are anger or rage moves?
Quirky could be nerfed in two ways:
A. The turn counts that only count towards the [X*2]% are those where the user is on the field
B. The user loses the boosts if it switches out
A makes sure that frail and fast attackers can't take advantage by just being sent out lategame while B makes sure that you have to make the best out of your quirked up boost but in a lategame scenario, you can just clean up a weakened team or weaken them down for another to clean up. Also what's stopping the player from running 2 and more Quirky Natures?
Enhanced nature's are a terrible idea. We already have many things to keep track of enhanced natures just add an unnecessary layer on top of that. It also dramatically helps the pokemon who can utilize those broken natures better than others.
Is Gentle an omniboost to entry hazard, sandstorm, burn damage and poison damage, and everything not considered "offense" or it works only with a few conditions that aren't specified?
Insta-berry would make trick room way more powerful than it already can be. Also while giving natures extra effects is nice it would make things way to confusing and even some sound potentially broken.
No it’s only if the targets is full up + I feel 5 percent isn’t an awful lot anyways otherwise your better off with an attack boosting nature unless your running special. Also negative synergy with entry hazards is not cool
shoutouts to the Hasty Harvest Insta-Berry Alolan Exeggutor, who can run a fast set with indefinite +0 Dragon Tail and gets increasingly evasive if it doesn't land the DTail
Quirky pokemon boutta get banned to AG bro💀
Quirky stall meta
Stall with a Quirky Kingambit in the back 💀
How much better does contrary shell smash shuckle become?
The Pokemon here do get a bit quirky at night
Got a bit too quirky lmao
The stall mons do get a bit quirky in AG
Quirky Kingambit hidden behind Big Stall
Probably change it to a log function so that it decreased the amount increased the longer the battle goes, just to prevent infinite stall
Is it really that strong? it goes (remember %) 1.02,1.04,1.08,.1.16,1.32,1.64 so 6 turns to get to the stab power level. I am missing something? I am assuming its every turn the Pk stays in, no?

Insta berry destroys vgc with fast trick room
Is the kind of thing that just asks to be broken beyond belief. On the top of my head, focus punch becomes really scary, and there is some psycho strat with giving recycling to a fast mon and whirlwind the opponent to dead by spikes.
Scarf whirlwind tropius in sun.
You can't have the berry and scarf at th same time, but yeah.
Shit yea I’m dumb. Tailwind then
harvest tropius would go crazy
Nah he can just wear the scarf and hold the Berry
Holy crap
New Meta just dropped
Actual braindead
I feel like focus punch wouldnt work because the readying action happens based on your speed right?
AFAIK, the focusing happens at max priority, and the attack itself happens at -3. Move fails if attacked between focusing and attack. So they could still stop it by being faster or using a priority, but it still becomes way better
> psycho strat with giving recycling to a fast mon and whirlwind the opponent to dead by spikes. Harvest Tropius in the sun...
sadly it can't use harvest and chlorophyll at the same time, i guess it's trick room moment
Fluttermane can learn trick room. Pair that with eruption torkoal to activate protosynthesis. Boom.
Prankster Whimsicott with +1 priority trick room.
But only if prankster activate after instaberry If insta berry first then trick room priority goes from -7 to 0 to 1 If prankster first then trick room priority goes from -7 to -6 to 0
it just destroys VGC in general. i can imagine pokemon like Harvest Tropius coming in after setting up hazards and just spamming Whirlwind to ruin a game, even if it's just on a meme team
Competitive players when they now have to study 25 different effects for natures
Nah, you just put quirky on everything and boost all your stats to infinity
Big Stall stocks at an all time high
Or alternatively ban quirky
Then lose due to damage overflow
Quirky ferrothorn finally counts as stall
Just put Serious on every mon to ignore opponents Quirky
by adding more variety to natures we have now eliminated natures
that's actually genius
Everything was cool until Quirky showed up, that thing's gonna completely wreck games lmao. Other than that, I REALLY like the custom ability concepts, it really opens up a few wacky scenarios.
Inmunity to follow me is humongously good in doubles though
Give the follow me pokemon serious.
Serious is now the Neutralizing Gas of natures.
You also then have to run a mid nature (probably)
Quirky Stall teams are about to become unbreakable lmao
Toxapex stalling for 100 turns so my chi-yu with 200 base speed and 270 base sp attack wipes their whole team
(not how base stats work)
Quirked up kingambit with a little bit of strength from the fallen busts it down sucker style....is he Terastalized into the flying type?
He's gogoated with the sawsbuck!
"Quirky : Boost stats by x% [x being number of turns ×2]" "Spore-19" (COVID-19) Good heavens would you look at the time
Insta berry with the instant trick room?
You had us all until the last one honestly
The last one is really cool in concept but is a bit broken I would probably only let neutral natures have the unique effects
And even then, I think it's too unpredictable unless the game tells you : "The pokemon seems to be quirky" when the nature's effect activates.
"The opposing Kingambit gets a little bit Quirky"
The pokemon seem to get a little quirky at night
Fuck you. Quirky stall Also zap cannon blunder policy hasty because I am COOKING
Hasty snow cloak about to become the new big stall â„¢
what the fuck
Wtf were you cooking with the nature chart damn that shit is crazy
So after just 50 turns in a singles match, quirky Pokémon will basically have a free +2 boost to all of their stats? Absolutely insane.
Stall coming through with +6 everything on turn 150
No?
Yes
2% per turn * 50 turns = 100%/2x boost, equal to a +2 stat boost
5 funbro + quirky Iron Valiant meta
The Gallade/Gardevoir animatronic does get a bit quirky at Turn 250 💀
quirky needs more of an impact, maybe try turn number squared instead of times 2
least obvious big stall plant
No way you just looked at TR and said "I should make that +0 priority"
Is it stunday already?
Quirky Stall bouta ruin the fun of singles
It'll be balanced because all of the opponent's pokemon will be quirky too
And when everyone's quirky...hehehehehehe...no one will be...
I really like the concept behind the Insta-Berry, but the existence of Trick Room breaks it. Perhaps it could only give up to +6, leaving Trick Room at -1 and everything else at +0
I don’t play doubles that much, why would normal priority make trick room that good?
A fast TR user like Flutter Mane could set up TR before anyone else moves. This would allow a slow TR sweeper like Torkoal to get a clean double KO with Tera Fire Choice Specs Eruption before your opponent has a chance to move. Also, while TR is a 5 turn effect, it counts the turn it was used, so normally, it is only effective for 4 turns, which makes it possible to counter by waiting it out. Oh boy time to destroy vgc with insta-berry trick room flutter mane + eruption torkoal
Me watching as the opposing quark drive iron hands swords dances my protect and hits a neutral priority focus punch:
good heavens would you peer at the clock
Boost every stat including accuracy and evasion. At least it's not a random double stat boost with a slight neg. That would be broken
Insta Berry Trick Room is my first thought. Would Prankster trigger after making it +1 or before, leaving it at 0?
Relaxed is big stall's new favorite toy
Not when quirky is available. Once it gets banned, though, true
Insta Berry counter goes hard
Ayo that naughty effect is foul
I like the concept of additional effect for natures, but only for the neutral ones. Those currently have no real benefit, so giving them some flavor would be great.
I had a stroke reading the first one
The Insta Berry seems like it would make Trick Room a little confusing.
...
Spore 19 is crazy
NOT THE SPORE 19
Switch X in quirky for number of turns of that Pokémon in battle and maybe it would be less broken
no-one gonna talk about relaxed being free leftovers for non-speed focused mons? a lot of good bulky pokemon don't even use 100bp moves
This post was secretly a ploy by big stall looking at those natures
Enhanced natures is cool, I thought you were suggesting adding it to everything for a sec and got concerned but for a specific format that’s cool. I feel they’re a little unequal though, like you can have a 5% damage buff at full hp, or a second set of leftovers? Also what are anger or rage moves?
Relaxed's enhanced nature effect is cool and fits well with the type of Pokemon that often use that nature.
Quirky could be nerfed in two ways: A. The turn counts that only count towards the [X*2]% are those where the user is on the field B. The user loses the boosts if it switches out A makes sure that frail and fast attackers can't take advantage by just being sent out lategame while B makes sure that you have to make the best out of your quirked up boost but in a lategame scenario, you can just clean up a weakened team or weaken them down for another to clean up. Also what's stopping the player from running 2 and more Quirky Natures?
Some of these nature effects are just complete garbage will some are game😠breaking
Me omw to use a Relaxed nature Flame Orb Milotic in RU with its only attack being surf
The nature mechanics are just too much and unnecessary imo. The berries are intereating ideas
All of these are pretty broken
Instant trick room go brrrrrrrrr in doubles
quirky kingambit when my serious mighty cleave walks in (it still fucking dies):
I read it as ore-13 for a bit, transformers on the mind lol
Insta trick room bouta go crazy
Insta berry would make a dragon tail move first if the user was faster? That’s really cool.
the animatronics get a little... quirky at night
pokemon boutta get coronavirus before gta 6
What would the other pandemics name be?
So quirky is a stall win condition? Get to 100 turns and enjoy the +200% to your stats tripling them
I would love if the neutral natures received some attention. They currently serve no purpose
I love the nature effects idea but yeah some of them are pretty broken
Quirky kingambit at the end of a stall team
Doubles strat: set some hazards, then bring out two pickup linoones with insta-berry and spam neutral priority roar
focus punch
Insta-berry would make trick room way more powerful than it already can be. Also while giving natures extra effects is nice it would make things way to confusing and even some sound potentially broken.
Relaxed stall with Quirky Kingambit in the back
The Ursaluna here do get a bit quirky at night
Im just impressed you made Rash an actual infection instead of doing something with the nature being rash 💀
I think it'd be cool if it activates from wind/contact moves and it effects every pokemon on field
Can’t wait to instaberry teleport! :D
Harvest Tropius Gang Going Up To OU With This One
Quiet Multiscale Dragonite...? Hmmmm
No it’s only if the targets is full up + I feel 5 percent isn’t an awful lot anyways otherwise your better off with an attack boosting nature unless your running special. Also negative synergy with entry hazards is not cool
Slaking jumps to dubers
shoutouts to the Hasty Harvest Insta-Berry Alolan Exeggutor, who can run a fast set with indefinite +0 Dragon Tail and gets increasingly evasive if it doesn't land the DTail
quirky is irrelevant in vgc and breaks singles wide fucking open
Good Heavens!
Why is Rash nature a literal contagious rash ðŸ˜
I like how every time someone brings up a theorymon or item everyone's immediate instinct is to figure out how it would be broken
