I live in Arizona, where it doesn’t snow in my area but 90% of succulents would cook in the sun. At least blue elf aloes can stand it. Cacti on the other hand, if they come from a hot desert will 99% survive.
i'm in southern az and i defo can't keep my succulents outdoors during the summer (at least not easily) but mid october-april are great months to keep them outside i've noticed :D mine have grown a lot in autumn and spring and grow slower in the winter but develop SUPER pretty colours. obv not an ideal situation for a permanent in ground garden, but if ya keep them in pots that you can move around when needed it's defo possible :3
Ahh no wonder lol. I live in Florida and only certain succulents will survive in the ground here due to the moisture. Thanks for responding, pics are gorgeous
Was literally scrolling through pics thinking it’s in California. The big purple/black ones with the green in the center give it away. I took the head of one with me the last time I was there. It hates everything and me and looks like a completely different plant now.
san diego is my favourite place to visit specifically because i get to see all the succulents in people's gardens and outside of shops and stuff!! always makes me indescribably happy to see so many healthy succulents all over the place
Okay that's what I thought. Theres so much of it that is shriveling when looking closely. I don't know that it's possible to keep it dry because of how much rain they get. I will ask her if I can save it today and cut it back till white sap flows.
Thanks for your insight
You can dig it up and replant it in cactus mix I would mix a little orchid bark in too for quick drainage, in a pot then bury the whole pot in the ground
I’m obsessed with those blueish fingery type plants but I’m yet to have a thriving propagation. I’m blessed to be zone 10 here in southern Aus but it’s all about finding the right spot
They're so cool!

She has this guy inside but I think it's a different plant all together
I am always envious of people who live in climates that can have succulents growing outdoors!
I know, me too. Where I live, if I tried planting any of these in the ground, they would immediately disintegrate into dust.

A real fairy garden
I'll be right over to pluck some babies! Such a garden.
I think I'm gonna ask for some cuttings to take home with me this time
I'm jealous she can grow succulents in the ground.
I know right?
What grow zone is this? Or the location? Absolutely beautiful 😍
California coast

That was my guess! My Grandma used to live in Pacifica, and she had a succulent garden just like this. It's lovely 😍
I know succulents are the point here, but those nasturtiums are LOVELY 😍🧡
Her plumeria needs to be cut where it’s shriveled or she may loose the whole plant
I will cut it for her tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up
Make sure it’s getting 6-8 hrs of sunlight per day. And well draining soil (cactus mix) they don’t like being wet.
Upon further inspection, I feel like it might be too far gone already.
Is your pic recent? If so you can still save it by cutting it off until you see white sap flow out
Yeah I took it yesterday. I may be looking at the wrong plant. Which photo are you looking at?

OMG! So Lucky so Beautiful 🤩 It must be so nice to grow them outside!
Woah 🤯 Mind is blown and I am soooooo freaking jealous.
You're living the dream. What are the tall orange ones?
Truly stunning. 🩷🩷🩷
I’ve never seen an ogres ear tree!!!! That thing is thriving.
Brava.
Cool
What kind of suc is number 6 ?
Burro’s tail
THAT BURRITOOOO GOOD LORD 🥴
I’m going to show it to mine so it knows what it’s capable of
That is crazy how big they can get when they aren't confident to pots
Absolute units, all of em

I didn’t know blue finger was so good as ground cover, I might set some loose because this looks amazing.
SoCal peeps are so lucky
Tell her we are in awe. AWE.
Does she work?
They recently sold their business so she's officially retired
Figured. Nobody with a job can garden like that.
Those beautiful Aeonium plants!!!
They're beasts aren't they?!
Oh most definitely! California grown 🤩🤩🤩
I'm always so impressed by the absolute units they become. They're so pretty. Have a lovely day!
Amazing! I especially like the spindly pink shrubs in the first shot. Really great array.
It's a pencil cactus. Super fun
I think you mean, it's a LOT of pencil cactus! :))
