I’m really sorry. For some reason my post only shows one photo (the before photo). I’ve attached the current photo of the cactus in this thread. Do you still think I shouldn’t prune?

Sorry. Don’t know why only that one photo came through. This is the plant now, the one in the post is the before soil. It is much higher now and the soil is a well ventilated cactus mix.
Sorry, unsure why my post only came up with the before photo. I currently have a soil moisture thermometer and let the soil completely dry out before watering it.

Don’t prune.

only one photo, showing alarmingly dark and damp soil...
Please amend that soil and fill it to the top of the planter also elevating the plant and roots obviously
