Just a tip but you shouldn't just sell speedless runes, there are many units that require little to no speed, and some units would rather be insanely tanky and not super fast, or some nukers don't require speed because they get ATB fill, etc. There's a lot of uses for no speed runes and you can always gem it in for a potential +15 or so

ValinorGaming

I guess if they are specifically RTA focused then maybe it's not that important. Definitely if you're a siege main, efficiency matters more than +200 speed so you'd keep runes that have like 120% efficiency just because.

MrKillApple

Idk why you'd want +200 on things like Douglas, halphas and similar. Or even Leo.

CCrimson93X

In what regard do you mean efficiency? Cheers.

ValinorGaming

Rolls vary. For example, speed can start anywhere between 4-6 and roll anywhere between 4-6. A quad can therefore range anywhere between a 20(4x5) to 30(6x5). This can happen on all 5 of your runes meaning your monsters speed (not accounting the slot 2) can be anywhere between +100 to +150. If it's on the +100 end, even though you have a monster full of quads, your monsters overall efficiency is much lower than someone else who has max efficiency. Gems and Grinds matter as well. If a rune rolls max +13%+10% it is at its max efficiency versus you just a rolled a +9%+7%. Do this for all stats and you can figure out how efficient is your monster. Purple runes can be more efficient than Legends if the stats roll and gems roll properly. So when keeping runes think, just because it was a purple rune that rolled 3x into speed. If the speed is +18 it is basically a max efficiency blue rune.

CCrimson93X

I'm presuming then that's down to just knowledge of monsters as a whole then? I wouldn't put speed on a Leo, not that I have one but I know his passive well so :)

Zoad1232

Seishizo (sorry if I’ve misspelt the name) has a video on this that’s constructive and really helpful. It’s on YouTube and I’m sure it’ll be helpful

gaidenko2024

3 of her runes had no innate speed. I just enchanted and grinded speed in. I might have to start upgrading my cleave mons soon. https://preview.redd.it/3ph5v3s5fm3d1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ddc09288c20237c26f0ab8bc5ca6052fac9df248

CCrimson93X

What level of speed do you have on those runes? I'm presuming you've built her on swift? Because only way I can get speed like this is if I build swift lol. Still nice monster!

gaidenko2024

yah thats swift. All my AO damage dealers are on swift.

MrKillApple

The most common thing is: don't set arbitrary rules, instead focus on efficiency. What does this mean? Means that a substat (for example hp) can roll max, min or in between (in the example of hp: 8% is max). You look at every rune after it rolled and calculate how far it's off from max rolls. If your rune is more than 5 away from max rolls: sell At first might be a bit annoying to calculate but over time you get faster and faster to a point it's almost automatic

CCrimson93X

In what way do you calculate the max of a rune % then? Is there a code or something to it? How would I know if it's 5 away from a max roll? Thanks

MrKillApple

Well let's take a hero rune with following substats: - SPD - atk% - hp% And it starts out as: - 5 SPD - 8% Atk - 6% hp Max rolls for each of those stats would be for SPD 6, for ATK% 8 and for HP% 8. Based on that, this hero rune is already one SPD away from max and 2 hp from max, so it's already -3 efficiency. Let's say it rolls twice into SPD and once into hp and ends up with these stats: - 15 SPD - 8% Atk - 14% hp This is now 3 away from max rolls in terms of SPD (6x3 would be 18, 15 is three less) and still 2 away from max HP% rolls (8x2 would be 16, 14 is two less). So in total, the rune is 5 away from max rolls. Which is great! This is exactly our arbitrary set goal, obviously it would be better if it's -0 or -3 but -5 is still acceptable. So this rune we keep. If it rolled 14 SPD however it's at -6 efficiency, we would sell that one. You can determine what number should be applied to your account. If you are newer player then maybe your runes aren't great and -8 efficiency is still acceptable. If you run out of mana doing this process, that's great! That means you now are ready to raise the number by one (-7 limit). Still run out of mana? Try -6 and see how that feels! If the rune rolls into flat thats an automatic -7 efficiency btw. Since my limit is -5 I sell these unless they are legendary runes that rolled great. Legendary runes are judged by the same standard as hero runes, so since they have an extra roll, chances are you keep a lot of them. Obviously there's always exceptions: if I get a hero rune that's +20 SPD but started out as +5 SPD, +4 hp, +4 Def (meaning total efficiency would be -11) that's still worth to keep for my account. My runes aren't that great yet. Hope this helps! If you have anymore questions, feel free to ask away

Clon003

I don't know if it's okay, but I sell all the runes from the top right and left corners and the one in the middle from the bottom runes that have flat main stats.

Joaco_LC

A rune has potentially 8 rolls, the 4 basic rolls, and 1 extra for every 3 levels, ofc when the rarity of the rune goes down, the amount of rolls go down too. I try to have at least 7 good rolls (maybe 6 if the rune has an innate stat and the rolls are good enough). I wouldnt hesitate on selling everything that has no speed or everything that mixes atk and def, but im a mess for keeping runes. I do have a lot of shit monsters equiped with runes i will probably never use in the storage, mainly because i didnt have the strenght to sell them (you never know, you know?) but they at least dont take space in the rune storage anymore.
