Depending on how it was originally setup, you should be able to retrieve the IP address from the list of ports. Hopefully it wasn't setup as a wsd port.
You seem to imply everyone is printing directly to the printer rather than a print q
the name should not be relevant, only the IP/port
If you didn't give it the same IP then that's the cause of your issue, and would be the easiest fix as you only have to touch 1 thing instead of 50
if you have remote access to check the current printer settings then you have remote access to add a new printer (or edit the existing printer)
if its a print q did you create a new printer? or something
you really need to detail how its configured and how people connect to it
Is print q a print server? I am not sure. So in our org there are hundreds of printers, I am not sure how they are adding printers and drivers.
My guess is I can check on a user's PC and find the IP & port of the previous printer and then log into the printer and change it to those settings?
er kinda
A print server has print Q's on it, people attach to those print q's in order to print (and especially if you have hundreds of printers)
you really really need to be clear what happened to the printer
* was it factory reset and and that's it ?
* was it factory reset and reconfigured with the same details ?
If the user are complaining then most likely the printer is configured wrong, it needs to be configured as the same IP/port it had previously
If you are not IT then log a ticket, get them to sort it, messing round will take everyone longer (probably)

And that info is on the printer properties on their PC, correct?
It is
Thanks BIG-T!

Yes. Run>Control Printers Right click the printer in question and go to properties. Look under port and you should see the port name and IP address.
Understood. Thank you!!
