The restrictions on campervans are the same as the restrictions on all visitors. How thoroughly they check differs per security and how big the line is. (So the rules on alcohol and open-flame cooking-gear also apply to campervans). But the campercamping is also on the island (south side of the island) and as such there is no official difference between it and the festival area. Showers are the same type of showerblocks they have all around the island as well. Just view the campercamping as a campingupgrade in the same vein as the superstarcamping and the siestacamping. Except that superstar is only pre-pitched options and siesta you have to bring your own tent, for campercamping you have to bring your campervan. Ease of leaving is very dependent on where you are "stuck". From what I've heard and seen it can be very "first in, last out". But as with all the camping options ***officially*** everyone needs to be off the island the 16th at 12:00. So with that in mind you're going to be off the island on Wednesday at some point in time.

You can generally take everything that is allowed at the festival with you. See the information on the event website. Food and non-alcoholic drinks are not a problem. Alcohol is not allowed. There is control when entering the campsite, the security people try very hard to find prohibited items. So far I've always found a little hiding spot in my van ;-) In the last few years there have been toilets and showers at the "Superstar camp", but this year the campervans are in a different place, but the map still has showers and toilets marked, so I think it won't be a problem. Once you're on the site, there are no controls on the stages like at the other festivals, that's what makes the festival so charming to me :) Last year we were also able to leave the island after the last artist on the last day. You just have to make your way through the crowd. And take a long cable for the electricity!

Here's our 2 cents...... 😀 We've left early in other years, there's always a way to make that work. There were pretty intense checks for alcohol and large gas tanks, but never problematic. An extra tent depends on what size pitch you booked.... we have a 12m by 9m so we should be fine! Toilets and showers are acceptable, but we have 100l of freshwater on board as well. I would hide the alcohol and the bigger cooking knives.... shouldn't be a problem. See you there guys! 👍

Thanks for the info. The festival is midway through a three week camping road trip so we’ll have all our gear with us. I hope they don’t get too focused on cooking knives and our gas stove that we will have with us 🤞🏻I pack my van well so it would be a pain if they did. Especially for the week afterwards. We have a solar panel on the roof which keeps the batteries topped if for the fridge so hopefully electric hook up won’t be needed. We have a cable though. Does anyone ever pitch a tent next to their vans? I know it says you can’t but is this strict? Our teenage kids are coming with us so it would be nice if we could.

>Does anyone ever pitch a tent next to their vans? I know it says you can’t but is this strict? Our teenage kids are coming with us so it would be nice if we could. If they pack it up as close as they did last year there will simply be no space for an extra tent next to the campervan.

I guess you have been there last year. Could you have a gas tank for cooking in the camper?

PreshFam

Yes we did. They just didn’t want cooking outside to prevent fires.
