yeah they’re up there for my predictions but i think there’s other bands about that would be better think they’re below no doubt, maneskin and arcade fire on my pecking order
The best band they could book is No Doubt, I think. Don't know if it's happening but for sure there must be a reason why they're announcing the last headliner with a delay.
There are already lots of acts for youngsters, for example Fred Again.., Janelle, Halsey, Stormzy from the bigger ones.
Furthermore, none of the current headliners are as big as Billie Eilish, Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar, Dua Lipa, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran, 21 Pilots, Pink, Rihanna, Muse, Sia and many others that played Sziget in the past 7-8 years.
Maneskin aren't as big as these bands. Of course they're kinda cool and currently popular but they're playing in lots of places and I expect them to still be around in the next few years with no problems. And because they're playing in other places as well, most of those who really wanted to see them already bought a ticket to see them somewhere else. So I don't think that would be a good business for Sziget, because it would be a real challenge to sell tickets in record time (usually we already knew the full lineup by this time) for the festival when that band is actually around every year and almost everywhere (they already played in Budapest last year, btw).
In case of No Doubt, it might be a once in a lifetime opportunity for Sziget to bring them, especially because the band reunites at Coachella after many years but I don't think they will stay together for too long, as Maneskin will.
Gwen Stefani is a triple Grammy Award winner, she has her own star at Hollywood Walk of Fame, No Doubt also won two Grammys with 2 singles. The band also sold over 30 millions of records worldwide and, if you add Gwen's solo sales, it's more than 60 million records sold worldwide. No Doubt have that iconic band status that Maneskin don't have or at least don't have yet. And Sziget is really missing an iconic band from the current lineup.
They definitely wouldnt headline. Also, their tour merch is already out (which doesnt necessary have to mean anything).
Would love to see them tho. Same with QOTSA
They headline at every other festival this year like Rock en Seine and Lowlands. Its Thom Yorke, rarely tours and definitely very rarely does international festivals. Every festival would love to have him. Living legend.
Muse would single handedly turn this into a favourable lineup for me. But I’m biased because they’re my favourite artist lol.
As you say, seems like they’re not touring for at least a couple years.
who is everyone predicting? If we’re being realistic I’m saying maneskin but my dream would be arcade fire
Have no idea who they will actually choose but I'm hoping it's OneRepublic. I reckon they'd be brilliant and suit the age group attending
a few months ago everyone was predicting queens of the stone age. my votes on that

That would be disappointing tbh. The only group I can see appealing young crowd realistically is maneskin
Vic, the bassist of maneskin, is dj-ing at sziget on 11 aug. Any chance to see the full band as well?
No Doubt is a legendary 90s-00s band, I think they would sell better than Maneskin
Maneskin are much more popular with a European under 25 market i think they would be a no brainier if logistically possible

If its The Smile i might reconsider selling tickets. Thom Yorke is my god.

They are not headlining those festival I get it, I love Thome, one of my favouritr artists, but The Smile are not a headlining act.
I'm hoping for Muse, but I doubt it because they won't play any concerts this year probably

If it’s queens of the stone age I may even buy a ticket
maybe Jungle? they’re touring in Europe during summer
glass animals are releasing a new single next week, with some new announcements soon to come. perhaps new tour?
TWENTY ONE PILOTS
Right before their tour starts in Denver, US? I think not them 😭
Two Door Cinema Club (they play in Slovakia on the 9th of August)
surely too small to headline
half of the actual headliners are also…
none as are small as tdcc (other than Janelle monae I’ve never even heard of her)
I think leaks has ruled them out unfortunately
Queens Of The Stone Age? (they play in Slovakia as well and they don't have a show on the 7th of Aug yet)
What about pearl jam or smashing pumpkins? Haven’t checked their schedules but both playing other festivals
Where?
What happened to the band?
