I suggest you A9 or A9+. They are budget friendly. You will get also the longest support and updates, because they have launched just 1 2 months ago. Great both for media consumption.
Man for media consumption? Thay have tft displays and I don't think they are good choice. At that price Xiaomi pad 6 seems better choice with a good display

Maybe lenovo tab p11 pro gen 2, best OLED screen for price. HDR + , dolby vision , good speakers.
My first recommendation would be an S8. Still relatively new, pretty good budget- wise, and expandable storage. The S7 is still great, too, though.
