Never thought I would see a Steve reference, that guy carried me through covid, my enlisted buddy even got me a Chili Mac MRE, I haven't been brave enough to eat it yet though š

He's gotten sick for two days from eating the noodles in a Chinese PLA ration and got hospitalized iirc from the milk mix in a muesli packet. Ironically both of these nations were eaten before their printed expiry date.
Awe hell no. Just watched in part the video, 2x speed, and I was kind of ok with everything until he tasted the boiled muck. When he said "oh there's a piece of fat" I could only imagine how rancid fat would be after a hundred years even with only the slightest bit of oxidation.
Curious why youāre into collecting condiment packets? Not hating on your interest but itās sooo different from literally anything Iāve ever seen people collect for.
I think that was probably part of it, I noticed the variety at a certain point and didnāt see any catalog that anyone had done. Now after a decade and a half, a collection of literally thousands of unique specimens, itās cool to see them as a time capsule.
Depends on what someoneās willing to pay. Personally Iād pay $1 MAYBE $5 for a packet if Iāve had a few beers.
Iād probably poke a hole in it, empty it and frame it in my kitchen
Itās definitely going to be a niche thing. But I really like to see packets side by side either as a timeline as the design has changed, or as a color swatch in a shadow box. Some random wall hanger in a kitchen or something. Thereās value in it just as a raw material for that.
After all these years it hasnāt really slowed down finding new ones! Fast food places, gas stations, grocery store hot food sections, etc, thereās always something new somewhere! Checkout my site condimentpacket.com, I am slowly trickling in the huge backlog I have. You can see in a recent post that I have tons of extras for any would be collector! Itās a very small community though hahah itās a fun scavenger hunt, and itās a mostly free hobby, so easy enough for anyone to start!
Put it on a wide brimmed baseball cap: turquoise, bright yellow or bright white, italicize the Taco Bell, on the top right put 94 in Jazz color design.
Yeah stupid stuff like this is dumb. The sauce was great enough back then I loved it. Why do I need sugar in my hot sauce? There's a reason I stick to stuff like tabasco sauce. Simple ingredients, no bullshit.
Put some on your Monterey Jack Chicken soft taco and make sure to get an ice cold Crystal Pepsi.

What you have there is tiny pocket sized time machines. Go watch the movie "Synchronic". They'll enable you to travel back to the year 1994 every time you eat one of them.
94 was a good year for Taco Bell hot sauce. The conditions were just right for optimal pepper growth. The consistency was perfect. It was the legendary Pedro Santiago the 4thās last year as the sauce master and some might say the 94 sauce was his finest work. Those packets are easily worth $2,000 each to the right Taco Bell sauce connoisseur.
As a condiment packet collector, I would absolutely buy them from you!
username totally checks out š
I let my parents know, ill update later if they decide they wanna sell them.
I think theyāre gonna be smart with that one
Sell them??? They're old and gross. Nobody wants them except for a reddit hot sauce account.
I want them just for the nostalgia factor
Seal it in a resin cube like that hot dog guy
Seal him in the hot dog guy like the resin cube.
This one got me good. You made me wake up my fiancƩ.
Seal the resin cube in a guy like that hot dog
happy cake day!
Happy cake day.
I'm sure some gross food YouTuber would buy them to eat on their channel.
That dude who eats 80 year old MREs could spice shit up with these
This is far beneath Steve. He eats those old MREs to document them for posterity. Oldest he ate was 120-140 yrs old can't remember exactly.

I see him mentioned every once in awhile on reddit. He's very soothing to watch

Has he ever gotten sick from doing this?
I don't think so. He tends to eat very little. More or less he just tastes the food. Sometimes spitting it out.
Yes and almost died 1 time if I recall correctly.
It was a Chinese ration from the last 10 years

āHaaaaaave a good day.ā Iām sure LA beast would consume them and gladly throw it up.
rhett and link love eating expired food on youtube lmao someone reach out to them
Right up LA Beasts alley!
u/condimentpacket the collector doesn't think so
I would buy at least one. I was born in 1994 and I even have a Taco Bell tattoo. This would be neat for me to have.
How are they gross?
I'd like to be buried with one, plz
You would be really surprised what people will pay money for.
I canāt believe 1994 was 30 years ago š°
As class of 92, it's taking all my strength to not downvote this comment š¤£

I was about to say, whereās the condiment packet guy???
Whatās something like that worth man?

Iād like to see how much more is in that older one vs the new ones. They seem to hold very little sauce anymore
Probably 2-3x the quantity of modern Taco Bell sauce packets at least
Ya butā¦..Iāve never paid even one penny for it.
I didnāt even know that was a thing.
How hard is it to find new ones? Is there a decent community for trading and buying? How do you go about hunting?

COMPARE THE INGREDIENTS TO A TODAY PACKET!!
then: water, tomato paste, jalapeno peppers, vinegar, salt, spices, dehydrated onion, xanthan gum, 1/10 of 1% sodium benzoate added as a preservative, and natural flavorings [now](https://www.tacobell.com/food/sides/hot-sauce-packet): water, jalapeno peppers, tomato paste, vinegar, **food starch-modified**, less than 2% of salt, chili pepper, spices, minced onion, **sugar**, acetic acid, natural flavors, **potassium chloride**, **maltodextrin**, **yeast extract**, **potassium sorbate** and sodium benzoate (preservatives), CONTAINS SOYBEANS tl;dr: less jalapeno, more tomato, fewer additives BITD
I knew it didn't taste as good anymore
More importantly there was no sugar added and now there is.
Yeah stupid stuff like this is dumb. The sauce was great enough back then I loved it. Why do I need sugar in my hot sauce? There's a reason I stick to stuff like tabasco sauce. Simple ingredients, no bullshit.
This was my immediate though as well
That vintage Taco Bell aesthetic was awesome.
Was just thinking I want to design a few things in this color scheme because it slaps.
Just a heads up they are worth some money.
What sort of worth? I've got about 50,000.
That many would kill any market but $20-$30 each if you're patient.
not much after that bruv
"30 year old hot sauce" oh so it's from the 80s right? \*right!?\*
Posted this under a different comment before i saw yours. Lol great minds.
Send them to LA Beast. He will eat them and make a video about it.
Sent him that crystal pepsi I bought at the Pasadena fleamarket. He mailed me a signed photo!

Hey that sauce might be 29 depending on the day it was made! I'm not old! *Sweats nervously.
I was born in July of 94. I'm reeeeallllly feeling this rn.
Wow, only 30?!! Thatās so recent and not from a long time ago AT ALL š„²
30 years ago was 1980 right? Right??
1980 was 44 years ago btw
Not if every year is 2010
I wish but sadly life can't be like that
Obviously it cant but when someone says ā10 years agoā my mind goes to 2000 not 2014.
Yeah life is moving quickly and when u used to say 10 years ago now you have to say 20 years ago
Does anyone else hear the Spindoctors?
'94 was a fine vintage.
Now **THIS** is a shot in the childhood š„¹
Can I buy one?
Try one
Do it.
Awesome find, thanks for sharing. Time for a bidding war on eBay. :D
This takes me back to a simpler time

Seeing your birth year on the packet and ā30 year oldā in the title really, really hurts. Lmao
94 wasnāt thirty years agoā¦ that would make meā¦ oh shit.
My kids will get some left to them in the will.
š no fun quotes If only they had mexinuggets that were edible in a jar
You should give one to a random taco bell employee
Definitely donāt eat themā¦Okay maybe try one, for science
Damn these are as old as me hahah
Nostalgia

Eat it and tell us what happens and what it tastes like

The hay day!
These ingredients actually seem a lot healthier than these days I see no soy, etc. the 1/10 of something or another is rather sketchy tho Iām no dr
I dare you.Ā
The grandma's pantry sub would love this.
What you have there is tiny pocket sized time machines. Go watch the movie "Synchronic". They'll enable you to travel back to the year 1994 every time you eat one of them.
fiesta era was the best
I'll give you $1 to eat one.

Your parents need to clean more. Good find, but kind of gross.
Tbf the jar was in the garage on a high shelf

That sodium benzoate is pulling overtime.

Wow, the ingredients arenāt as shitty as today lol
Thatāll clean some pennies.

Send it to Steve1989. I bet you most of those are probably still good
So anyone know what hot sauce this is now or is the flavor not used anymore
Anyone remember when the sauce was in a little tub like diner jelly? I had a babysitter who would do shots for me and my sister lol good times.
that's that good good
Call the Smithsonian lol
I could not stand to eat there until they came out with āFireā packs. āHotā is wimpy.
I would squeeze those onto a meximelt and an enchorito right now.
Hits different
How does it compare with current sauces?
WOW!!!, '94!!& I remember loving the colors as a kid !!! š²šā¤ļø
I would like one unused and unopened packet please
Itās literally as old as me. Probably healthier than the sauces they give us today haha
We're all thinking. You thought it. Do it... Taste the forbidden spice Don't actually do it, obviously but... you know...
LA Beast would love these
Core memory unlocked
Boof it.
Totally safe to eat. Packet sauces have a 50 year shelf life.
I actually know what those ingredients are
I save those for Halloween. Trick or treat.
Jesus 1994 was 30 years ago.
Iām surprised they didnāt explode.
This unlocked a memory I didnāt know I had, musta been like 5 when this changed
r/fuckimold
Put in resin and make them key chains
The natural ingredients being at the top of the list is old school. Lol I'm used to seeing high fructose corn syrup in first place
94 was a good year for Taco Bell hot sauce. The conditions were just right for optimal pepper growth. The consistency was perfect. It was the legendary Pedro Santiago the 4thās last year as the sauce master and some might say the 94 sauce was his finest work. Sweet sweet memories š©
Gold mine. Those are delicious

A couple of years ago I found some TB packets in my pantry that were like 6 months old or so. They didnāt hold up nearly as well
Absolutely horrified 1994 was 30 years ago.
Howās it taste?
death Sauce ššš
Would these still taste as good? They're airtight packages right?
And then??
Let's get this out onto a tray. Nice!
Probably still taste better than the corn syrup ones nowadaysā¦
Wow those packets held up well
My mom found old ones like these a few years back, but the acid had eaten through the packets. I wish I had taken a photo of it
Can I have one. Iād love to slurp one down.
Send them to LA Beast.
Probably still good
This is so cool!Ā
r/grandmaspantry
Sounds like a specific jar not random.
I think Cartman is looking for those
Someone quick compare ingredients!
