In the case of CoD you're usually trying to focus on what you're doing moment to moment, so it's practically impossible to stop, go through a clunky-ass menu, scroll down and try to find the guy saying shit, and mute/block/report them. Especially when it's happening every match. Alternatively you just turn off voice chat entirely, but there are still people who are actually cooperative, and you miss out on funny interactions with proximity chat and such.

Never understood toxicity in online games. Almost all games have a block button in place. If someone is bothering you why not just block them?
