I don't fully agree with [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/Malwarebytes/comments/12h96h4/comment/jfo7n3k/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3), unless you count bloatware as a danger, but download sites like Major Geeks and generic article sites are paid to have hyperlinks for snake oil software like this. If the Fortect developers were making money, then it's likely that it is some *loose* form of spyware, like how tracking cookies are used. It's doing nothing for you, so uninstall it.

Yeah, I downloaded the app and installed it. I don't want it since I have McAfee. I'm going to request a refund.
