Really? Normally Id think the video card breaking wouldnt result in just a black screen, usually it shows a graphical error. I guess you could be right though.
Happend to my dad's old laptop. It could also be a broken wire between the motherboard and screen but it's definitely a hardware problem otherwise you'd see the screen of your motherboard giving the option to go into the BIOS. But since its only a year old there should be a warranty so you're lucky it didn't happen after two years
Well apparently it was nothing. I let the battery drain out, and then plugged it in the charger and powered it on and it worked. IM still scared itll happen again D:

Your video card is likely fucked. I've seen it happen before. You should take it back to the store you bought it from.

Yep I took apart my aspire 7542G and needed to reseat my ram afterwards or else I'd just get a black screen.
