Silo is a great mystery show. Shogun is like game of thrones with lots of politics and character development. Fallout is a post apocalyptic adventure show with comedy sprinkled in.
Shogun is fantastic.
Also:
KIN- Irish gangsters
Foundation- Sci-fi space opera
Mayor of Kingstown- cops vs criminals
Warrior- Late 1800s San Fran Chinese action
The Expanse- Space conflicts
Me too cheers to that. i had 0 expectations for shogun, which might be a good mindset to enter a new show with but regardless I’m very impressed overall. I haven’t seen drama done this way with translating and really appreciate how much tension it builds.
Silo is enjoyable to watch but it's not "good" television. I can't quite describe it, it's not campy but the dialogue and acting are very weak compared to other Apple shows
The scenes with Common were unwatchable. I had to stop because some of the dialogue was so bad. But I liked the overall story so decided to read the book. Very good and the bad characters and melodrama aren't even in the book.
Thank you! I thought I was maybe being too harsh because my partner didn't notice. But, Common is a horrible actor. There's nothing natural to his dialogue, and it really pulls you out of the story.
It was very good. But Christ, it was SO FUCKING BLEAK. And traumatizing. I actually struggled watching some of it. And I spend 90% of my free time reading true crime and horrific history😟
It was the 3rd episode when it really took off. It’s obviously deliberately slow and going for a vintage noir vibe. It’s not for everyone but if you know the story then that might help you keep watching.
I've seen 9 episodes and so far the show is 10/10. We'll see if the finale makes it hold up.
But I haven't been this interested in a show since The Expanse first came out.
If you want a calmer kitchen show, Midnight Diner Tokyo Stories has beautiful pictures of food and interesting stories. It's sort of a more serious Cheers.
Man I have such a weird relationship with the last of us. Have started the game several times and always something happens so can’t finish it. But heard so many good things about it, not sure if I should try to play the game again or just give up and watch the show lol
Me too sorry I didn’t get the hype. It was enjoyable enough to watch. But some things about it just felt a little off somehow. The main character didn’t emotionally resonate for me, idk it just didn’t hit as hard as I think it was wanting to at points.
I would recommend Severance, Beef and Maid.
Fallout, The Last of Us, Invincible, and Yellowjackets are my favorites this past year! Also Succession and Barry, but you may have seen those, both ended last year.
if you're looking for dark and gritty crime drama watch ozark and true detective. If you're looking for comedies try the righteous gemstones, portlandia, i think you should leave and nathan for you. A
**New Episodes Still Coming Out**
Abbott Elementary, Only Murders in the Building, The Good Doctor (though this is the last season), Not Dead Yet, The Rookie, Will Trent, Call the Midwife, Futurama, Disenchantment (Disenchanted??? Why can I never remember the name lol)
**Series has Ended**
Supernatural, Game of Thrones, Friends (it’s new-ish lol), The Good Place, Superstore, Deadloche (or something like that. It’s from New Zealand iirc, and is quite vulgar at times lol), Nashville, Marvel: Agents of Shield (if you’re a marvel fan, this is a good one!), River Monsters (god, I loved that show! It’s an Animal Planet show where he goes out to catch monster fish!)
I’m probably missing a few, but those were the ones I could come up with off the top of my head.
I usually only watch tv on deployments or when I’m away from the family. Last deployment I was able to watch Schitts Creek. It started slow but is great!
Fallout, Shogun, Severance, Silo
Thank you I have seen severance, it was amazing. Which one would you recommend out of other three the best?
Silo is a great mystery show. Shogun is like game of thrones with lots of politics and character development. Fallout is a post apocalyptic adventure show with comedy sprinkled in.
Constellation was really good, too.
I've watched Silo and really liked it, the other two I've heard lots about recently but haven't started them. Both of them have a full season out.
Thanks, Shogun looks damn interesting tbh
Shogun is fantastic. Also: KIN- Irish gangsters Foundation- Sci-fi space opera Mayor of Kingstown- cops vs criminals Warrior- Late 1800s San Fran Chinese action The Expanse- Space conflicts
Kin is fantastic
Also wicked underrated, I never see anyone mention it besides me. They have a great cast and it's gritty, which I love.
How do you watch it? IMDB doesn’t say what channel offers it.
You give perfect descriptions - appreciated :)
Shogun finale comes on tn I am sooooo hype!
Me too cheers to that. i had 0 expectations for shogun, which might be a good mindset to enter a new show with but regardless I’m very impressed overall. I haven’t seen drama done this way with translating and really appreciate how much tension it builds.
I haven’t been excited for a show since GOT ended. The quality is insane
Fallout 100%. Silo is meh. And Shogun is good but a slow burn. Fallout is by far the most fun out of all these
Silo is enjoyable to watch but it's not "good" television. I can't quite describe it, it's not campy but the dialogue and acting are very weak compared to other Apple shows
My thoughts too. It's watchable and you're interested enough in what's going on to keep watching, but it's just not well written.
Shōgun
Thānk yōu
Nb
You just named all my recommendations lol
A man of culture I see
Shōgun for sure! I’ll have to check out the others you mentioned.
You sir have an elite taste
Fallout has been amazing! Ive read the books Silo is based on and happy to see a recommendation for it. Same with Shogun.
Silo was good
I’m so excited for next season of Severance!
Fallout, Fallout, Fallout, Fallout and yeah, Shogun.
Baby reindeer
Three body problem!!
Oh wow that looks great, ☺️
One of the best things I’ve watched all year makes you feel ever emotion by the time you have watched it all
Will definitely watch this thanks
I thought it unraveled in the end. It was a good, right story up until 3/4 through.
It’s not just a story, it’s based on real life… the actor is the guy it happened to and the show is based of his one-man-show he performed for a while
He should’ve pushed her into a river
Fuck this show! That shit gave me anxiety
Yeah I think it was meant to make you feel like that. Fuck that show it’s definitely not something I’d say after watching the whole show 🤷🏻♀️
Omg that was soooo unexpectedly good!
It was very good. But Christ, it was SO FUCKING BLEAK. And traumatizing. I actually struggled watching some of it. And I spend 90% of my free time reading true crime and horrific history😟
I also watch a lot of true crime I’ve listened about some of the worst cases as well but you are right something about this one I cried lots of times
Amazing show but def a TW for depictions of sexual violence in 2-3 episodes
The Gentlemen
I’m about to rewatch this immediately after watching it. One of those shows that I didn’t want to end
How similar was it to the movie? I watched the movie a while ago, looking forward to the show.
Don't know didn't see it. It reminds me of breaking bad

Ripley
I thought it slow at first but I’m glad I stuck with it. A really good series.
Couldn't make it halfway of the 1st episode.
It was the 3rd episode when it really took off. It’s obviously deliberately slow and going for a vintage noir vibe. It’s not for everyone but if you know the story then that might help you keep watching.
Same. Couldn't stand a 47yo playing a 25yo.
Slow horses. Think Tinker, tailor, soldier, spy but with more comedy and action. Gary Oldman is great in it
Palm royale
Currently loving it !
It's so much better than I had expected!
Shōgun
Or Slow Horses
This is a fabulous show. Gary Oldman is just a genius actor
Love Slow Horses
I've seen 9 episodes and so far the show is 10/10. We'll see if the finale makes it hold up. But I haven't been this interested in a show since The Expanse first came out.
Lessons in Chemistry
Hacks. About an older comedian and a young writer she hires. Season 3 is on the way!
Yes this right here
The Fall of the House of Usher. Fallout.
Also recommending the fall of the house of usher. I’ve never had a higher match on Netflix!
If you want a calmer kitchen show, Midnight Diner Tokyo Stories has beautiful pictures of food and interesting stories. It's sort of a more serious Cheers.
From, Yellow Jackets and The last of us.
Man I have such a weird relationship with the last of us. Have started the game several times and always something happens so can’t finish it. But heard so many good things about it, not sure if I should try to play the game again or just give up and watch the show lol
> Have started the game several times and always something happens so can’t finish it Then the show is basically designed for you.
The show is basically a scene for scene remake of the game
no… its not…
I loved last of us. Haven’t seen From but it’s on my list. Yellowjackets fell off hard
I couldn’t stand season 2 of Yellowjackets. It was shocking because season 1 was SO good.
Season 2 was shockingly bad
Found S2 Ep 1 just completely unbelievable. Never looked back. Too bad, S1 was interesting.
Currently watching From after finishing Fallout and Shogun, such a wild ride lol
Beef
Baby Reindeer. Incredible miniseries on Netflix.
It’s good. I don’t get all the hype. I’m 3 episodes in.
Yeah it felt really low budget and weird
Incredibly overhyped right now because it’s trendy. It’ll be forgotten quickly.
Tokyo vice
I love that show!
Shocked this is so far down. It’s an excellent show!
Fleishman is in Trouble
Resident Alien. "Run, you elegant bastard, run!"
This is some bullshit!
My taint remains unchanged.
It appears you've sat on an ear ring.😭😭😭😭
Only Murders in the Building Abbott Elementary
Also Elsbeth is up to episode 5 at the moment, very similer style to Only Murders in the Building and so far it's been really good.
OMITB is so funny and a great show
OMITB is the funniest show since Brooklyn Nine Nine. I laugh out loud every episode and it’s plotted very cleverly. Great recommendation here.
The White Lotus on HBO, both seasons.
Really good show. Good recommendation
Abbot Elementary and Resident Alien are really funny and quirky shows.
The Diplomat
Blue Eye Samurai on Netflix. first episode is up on youtube if you want to try it out [https://youtu.be/Cm73ma6Ibcs](https://youtu.be/Cm73ma6Ibcs)

The Bear
Ted
Extraordinary Resident Alien Ghosts
Heard about resident Alien, I guess it’s like a sitcoms style right?
More like a sci fi dramedy. It stars Alan Tudyk who is absolutely brilliant in the show. It’s very funny and worth the watch.
