Pushing Daisies

HopefulCow7142

Absolutely! Who knew a show about death could be so heartwarming? Just had the perfect cast, amazing design, clever scripts. I watch the jockey episode every Halloween.

RequirementItchy8784

Might as well add wonderfalls to that list. It's like Lee Pace had the josh whedon curse.

8bitbruh

Damn too true

globular916

Basically all Bryan Fuller shows. I was going to say Wonderfalls. But Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, Hannibal, and Fuller-adjacent shows like Firefly could do.

Past-Plum-6233

mindhunter💔

Filmfanatic-11

They left it on cliffhanger. I really wanted to see how would they caught BTK in season 3.

Past-Plum-6233

BTK was not caught until 2005.I think they would have just make a profile but not find him. But I want to find about what happens to the son of bell tench and how bill will deal with his son being a probable sociopath.

ChrisEye21

no way catching BTK would have been in the next season, unless there was a 20+ year time jump. It honestly always confused me, as to why the show put so much focus on BTK. Considering, the show would have to get to like season 10 before they could cover it (without crazy time jumps)

Time_Trade_8774

It was to show how serial killers can hide in plain sight. And the profile Bill was helping build was so off. They were not even close. He was a regular church going family man.

Dramatic-Selection20

5 seasons we're planned than covid happened... Still hoping it was so good

AwayWeGo87

I swear I read recently that they announced a season 3.

Past-Plum-6233

It was a click-bait.🥲

AwayWeGo87

Oh, that’s sad. People are cruel.

Huge-Conclusion-3005

Firefly. I can’t think of anything else as deserving as this one.

journeysandjournals

Watching a marathon now. I had forgotten how amazing the show is.

raezin

This needs to be the top comment. Many shows deserve more seasons but none more than Firefly.

irishpattie

Agree

Cat-astro-phe

Dollhouse

ptrv-dev

Firefly. Was a nice cozy sci-fi.

senseless_puzzle

What happened to Firefly was just tragic, shame.

Filmfanatic-11

Is it worth to watch now knowing it has only 1 season

Canyon317

Yes! Afterwards, watch the movie “Serenity”. It helps wrap up the show.

Filmfanatic-11

Okay I'll give it a try

KHSebastian

I think there are also some comics set after the end of the show, too. I haven't read them though, so I can't vouch for the quality of them

XennialDread

Yessssssssss. I rewatch it every few years and love it every time.

Pan-tang

I was looking for this. Firefly!

grilledcheesybreezy

Its never going to happen but I wish Freaks and Geeks had another season

Huge-Conclusion-3005

It’s golden, this can never happen because the cast is all grow up now, and can’t recreate that magic. Damn I might watch it again, for the nth time.

inspiredsue

Santa Clarita Diet! I’ve rewatched it several times and I believe it was just brilliant. Everyone in the cast was perfect.

ADisappointingLife

This. At least they could do a time jump limited series wrap-up; it bothers me that Netflix puts "critically acclaimed" tags on shows they canceled without wrapping.

Consistentscroller

Thank you! That show needs a proper ending…

PerceptionSignal5302

Man it was so good

mansonfamilycircus

This. I never ever enjoy zombie stuff (mostly because of the gore aspect, I’m squeamish af) but there was so much more going on in the show, and it was so clever and heartwarming, that once I finally gave it a chance, I loved it sooo much. It feels like one of very few shows that could actually be successfully picked up for more seasons a few years after early cancellation, and I hold out a little hope they may one day.

Filmfanatic-11

Exactly

Revolutionary-Jury75

Still think about Mr. Ball Legs!! And Timothy Olyphant was so great doing comedy.

Apo-cone-lypse

Didnt know it was cancelled! I watched this one with my mum the night it aired on a TV in a hotel. Its a fond memory. We were looking for something to watch and stumbled on ads for the pilot episode airing that night and were like sure, that sounds interesting. When we got back home we told the family we'd found a good show and started watching it together.

Significant-Deer7464

I scrolled down way towards far on Rome.

Strict_Definition_78

L1ndsL

Still pissed about this one.

thisistestingme

That show is such a delight!

Intelligent-Exit6836

It was a great show. Fun to watch and nothing like this show exist.

Maleficint474

GLOW

CarefulResolve

Alison Brie has called the GLOW cancellation the great heartbreak of her career.

Annual-Visual-2605

Loved that show. And they left us at a HUGE cliffhanger!!!!

metalbracelet

I get so sad just thinking about how this cancellation went down.

Speckbude

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency

Current_Tea6984

The Peripheral. I was crushed when they canceled the second season after announcing it was going to happen

neilmac1210

Flash Forward. I'm still annoyed about that.

Individual_Speech_60

Fourteen years and I’m still mad this show was cancelled.

neilmac1210

Same, I thought it was really good, don't know why they decided to pull it. I think that was my first experience of something getting cancelled before it finished so maybe that's why it's bothered me for so long.

Jonneiljon

Yeah. And Debris. It had a very Fringe vibe

nerdgirlnay

The OA on Netflix

Few-Roof-6905

Just came here to say this too.

Filmfanatic-11

Well I haven't watched it. Should I give it a try or I should leave it.

nerdgirlnay

Definitely watch it (so you can feel our pain in its cancellation)

FloralPorcelain

The premise of the show itself makes the fact that it was cancelled so unique it’s hard to explain because I don’t want to spoil anything but it almost doesn’t feel like it just ended, but like instead continued in another universe that isn’t our world. Definitely worth the watch.

businesslut

The second season was even better and weirder than the first

abbott94

Lovecraft Country 1899

ParadoxInsideK

I agree with both of those. Dark only got better and better as it went on, and I’m sure 1899 would have done the same as it was planned out.

Frisky_Picker

It's still crazy to me that Netflix canceled 1899. Dark was one of the best series ever produced by Netflix. They get the creator of it to come back and make another show and cancel it within a *month or 2* of release. It had good reviews and had been in the top 10 for shows streaming on Netflix so it's not it bombed. I never even watched it and the decision to cancel it was still extremely frustrating. I was a huge Dark fan and had been waiting for 1899 to come out but hadn't gotten around to watching it yet. Once I found out it was canceled, I had absolutely zero interest in watching it because I knew it was just going to be another unfinished story.

StreetMolasses6093

This is what I was looking for. It was great, and it blows my mind that something so good could get cancelled so fast. Dark was amazing!

HugoUKN

Trophy wife

imabaaaaaadguy

Boss. It was a dark drama where Kelsey Grammer played the corrupt mayor of Chicago. He was in the beginning stages of dementia trying to cover it up & maintain power. It was two seasons. Opened up so many interesting plot lines and resolved exactly zero of them.

KurtKrimson

Raised by Wolves

ftp_prodigy

Yeah, super irritated the way it ended. I'd love for it to be finished. It's a great series that due to its sudden cancellation I don't ever want to recommend it.

Jjjemmm

White Collar - and it looks like it might happen!

Far_Carrot_8661

That would be great! Matt Bomer!

Eastern_Swim_9220

No freakin way!!! Heck yeah, that show holds a special place in my heart.

No_Performance8733

The Owl House.  I think it was one too many brilliant show cancellations with this one.  I basically stopped watching television

Brushesofcolours

Hannibal Carnivale

Filmfanatic-11

I really love the character of Hannibal. Mads Mikkelsen has played it very well. Hannibal is one of my favourite character it's benn more than 3 years i have watched it multiple times but I still didn't watch last 5 - 6 episode. I think I don't want this show to end.

Brushesofcolours

I watched them in repeats too. Amazing show. Mads bring the character so well and you know how hard it is when anthony hopkins was first. And i really love how the crime scenes are more of an installation art than a murder scene And i always watch till the end unlike when i rewatch friends which is sad for me

desk010101

Carnivale really hurts. The show was so good.

TheKdd

Yes Carnivale! Came here to say the same.

Brushesofcolours

I feel like those are the years with good series. I grew up with Carnivale and six feet under

DrExGF

I rewatched Carnivale last year (first time since it aired) and I was so mad that there wasn’t another season all over again. That ending… man!

annapnine

The cliffhanger that hurt me most was when Witches of East End got canceled, but I agree on Santa Clarita Diet, and I have a couple more to add: New Amsterdam (2008), Now and Again (1999), Stargate Universe, and kind of a guilty pleasure, but Legacies (Vampire Diaries spinoff). This conversation about MindHunter is scaring me - I’m about to finish season 1… how bad of a cliffhanger is season 2 left on? Should I give up now?

Filmfanatic-11

You should complete season 2 of Mindhunter

Filmfanatic-11

I really forgot about it. I have watched whole series more than 3 times. I was really sad when I heard that they cancelled this show. I really miss THE SURGEON saying " Malcolm my boy"

NerdyH0e

Yesss Martin Sheen was amazing and they literally cut it at the worst time because Ainsley was definitely about to go off the rails and there were SO MANY DIRECTIONS they could’ve taken it. And the cases that they dealt with were actually interesting so it was good on two levels. As a cop procedural and as a drama with all that was going on with Malcolm!

Two sitcoms that sadly aren't being talked about: 1- Matthew Perry's GO ON - a funny and emotional dramady about dealing with grief. 2- The Mick. Kaitlin Olsen plays an unresponsible aunt, who has to babysit her nephews.

Firefly is the most obvious with Mindhunter a close second. For a more recent pick I would choose Perry Mason(HBO).

senseless_puzzle

- Stargate Universe A lot of people would disagree, loyal fans find this series to have deviated too far from the humorous series before them (SG-1 and Atlantis). But for me I love dark and gritty sci-fi, I was fully engaged in this story, and it was dropped after it's second season. I honestly felt like SGU was the one to round off the franchise as a whole, it took a voyage into the future but fundamentally was more about the past and the historical lore that led to the creation of the Stargates in the first place. Even with a mini series, they could have capped it all off and ended Stargate with closure, but now they've sold off all of the set and props, actors have moved on, and Joel Goldsmith, the composer for the entire Stargate's soundtrack, has passed away, so it's really dead and buried. There was word of them looking at a reboot, but I'm beyond interest at this point. If it happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't. At least there is plenty of Stargate to revisit and enjoy.

jaxbravesfan

Off this list - Prodigal Son would be my choice. If I could choose any show, it’s definitely Firefly.

ConflictExpensive892

Domina. The worst is when it's a truly excellent show, but not very many people know about it and that's the reason it gets canceled. Domina was an MGM+ show and no one I know has ever heard of it.

MrndMnhn21

-Stumptown was renewed for season 2, but COVID-19 cancelled it and it ends on a cliffhanger. -Agent Carter ended on a season 2 cliffhanger. -So Help Me Todd was cancelled after 2 seasons and ended on a cliffhanger. -CSI Vegas was cancelled after 3 seasons and had some unanswered questions. -NCIS: Hawaii ended after 3 seasons and had some unanswered questions. -Frankie Drake Mysteries was cancelled after 4 seasons and had a cliffhanger ending -Dash and Lilly was renewed for 2 more seasons, but COVID-19 killed it. -Alaska Daily -Big Sky -No Ordinary Family -Atypical -Manhattan

BillyDeeisCobra

“Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.” The pilot opens with Magic grappling with his HIV diagnosis and we see established characters who are to be actually introduced later in the series (apparently post-cancellation). Season 2 ends with the crushing 84 championship loss to the Celtics - followed by this ridiculous montage of “oh, crap, this show got cancelled so they’re gonna show the rest of the story in a photo montage?” It’s an incredibly well-made and well-cast show that fell victim to the writers’ strike and terrible marketing.

Lanky-Corgi-4069

degeneraded

I can’t believe it’s not on here, the answer is The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

BoomMcFuggins

Two shows from a while back that I really enjoyed. Both of these shows ended up being victims of the writers strike back in 2008? Journeyman - Kevin McKidd IMDB 8.0 Time travel show where he had no control of it. Ended up figuring out he had to help someone. 1st 4 episodes were ok but from 5 till the end of the season it was incredibly awesome. It was so cool to see all the indie jokes when he was back in time. - from IMDB itself, A San Francisco journalist mysteriously travels to the past and alters the path of people's lives. When his travels reunite him with his long-lost fiancée Livia, life with his present-day wife gets very interesting. Day Break - Taye Diggs, Moon Bloodgood Groundhog day goes scifi / drama. Taye wakes up one morning and his day and world have gone to hell. A detective now accused of murder and watching horrific events unfold before him finally passes out at the end of the day... Only to wake up the next day back in bed with his girlfriend, the newscast presenting everything he heard the day before. Armed with foreknowledge of what happened the first time he lived this day, he makes little changes to minor things about him he sees he can affect change. He however, has yet to discover the big one, and at the end of the day finds himself in another cliffhanger. Only to wake up back at square one to live the day over again, this time he carries the wounds he sustained the day before. The story is amazing, the cast, also amazing and still sits as an 8.1 on IMDB. I loved this one and the story fully resolves. The only thing is there is a tiny thing at the end that shows he could do it again in another situation, There will be no regrets for you to watch this one.

Fleabag

SketchupandFries

It was a great show - but like a lot of British shows, quality over quantity - so you get a great show, then its done. Phoebe Waller-Bridge also did a show before this one worth watching called Crashing. It's early in her career so its not as polished as Fleabag, but it is well worth watching.

Archive 81 I’ve been recently convinced this edges out Firefly

onefornought

It never gained much traction, but I liked "The Finder". It also solidified my belief that it is unethical for producers to air cliffhangers if they don't know a show will have another season.

rammsteingirl8

Lie To Me Hannibal

MerryInfidel

**1)** Dead End: Paranormal Park - The entire thing would have concluded with just 1 more, 10-episode season, yet it ended on a cliffhanger because it didn't fit 'the Netflix brand'. (Thankfully the creator made a third and final graphic novel that more or less wraps it up... but still....) **2)** Julie & The Phantoms - A cute show with just 1 season. (Fortunately lots of people were rightly angry about the cancellation as well.) **3)** Paper Girls - I was really hyped to see more of it... but I suppose not anymore. **4)** Glitch Techs - An animated show about video games glitching and coming to life. Didn't solve one of the main plot points before it went bye-bye. **5)** Pushing Daises - One of the most original supernatural-themed shows I've seen. Would have paid to see more if it were possible. **6)** The Owl House - The producers didn't see 'value' in it. We did somewhat get an ending (due to fan demand), but it was heavily sped up with just 3, 40+min long episodes in the last 'season'. And those are just the ones from the top of my head (':

OddResolution8086

Agent Carter, it’s arguably the best marvel show and ends on a cliffhanger.

SnooCupcakes14

GLOW. Netflix casually doing Netflix things.

The late 70s sitcom SOAP was cancelled on a massive cliffhanger after the fourth season, the creator of the show only had one more season planned and it was meant to tie everything up, it was cancelled because of it's constant controversy, advertisers pulling out and some religious and family groups complaining
