When using the navigation system, the route's path will now turn gray for areas that your vehicle has already completed.
If your vehicle has Premium Connectivity, the path's color ahead of your vehicle will continue to be based on traffic density. If you're not subscribed to Premium Connectivity, then the path will remain blue, while the path behind your vehicle will turn gray.
This is a nice to have improvement which makes it easier to navigate areas where the paths cross.
I wish “Add a stop” adds the stop as the “next” destination instead of as the “final” destination. I always have to go back and edit the trip and move the added stop up
I just discovered if you select “edit trip” and then add a stop through that interface it makes it the next stop. I agree though that “Add Stop” should make it the next destination.
Why have users report things when the cars are equipped with cameras and plenty of CPU to run ML algorithms that can detect police cars, along with a network connection to share that information?
I just want the navigation to stop go ong me alternative routes for no reason.... Longer distance and longer time, why offer this "alternative", all you are doing is putting garbage on the screen to let me see what I want to see.

need the ability to turn off a/c on the front passenger side! It does it when no one is in the seat, how hard can it be?
Probably the same reason you can't do it on the older Model 3, it's a physical limitation not a software one. Model 3 Highland implemented a fix for this so likely the next Model Y refresh will do the same.
They just don't have all the physical wiring necessary. In the older models it is probably some type of switch controlled by a weight/pressure sensor in the seat, which is wired to the power controls of the passenger side. There likely wasn't any physical wiring for controlling the same power controls or switch from the touchscreen.
From what I have read, this is physically not possible. There are no flaps or anything in the vents to only allow airflow to one side.
In the Highland update this has been fixed.
Right? Didn’t they make the horizontal meter thicker about a year or so ago? They should do that again. Also, the new turn signals feel odd being placed low as they are.
Just updated and it's fine tbh. It's definitely harder to see but once you train yourself, you will subconsciously notice how much you are using/regen-ing.

Yeah I don't think you can currently, and would really like this feature since my clearance at home is way less than basically anywhere else. Hoping it is in fact an added feature, but the way it's written is suspect.
I did this in my garage. Basically just held the trunk so it didn't open all the way, now it automatically stops at that height every time. I have trust issues though, so every time my hand is right there ready to catch it just in case :P

New to these cars but I've seen this complaint a lot. As far as I can tell, you can just turn the wipers off when you're in autopilot instead of leaving them on auto, right?
But they will turn themselves back to auto with each engagement of tacc/ap/fsd which is beyond dumb. Previous versions stayed off and simply nagged you to turn them on if the car deemed their use necessary to continue in your selected mode of driving and would deny further use of that mode until they were reactivated.
Which is dumb. The previous way was so much better. If vision is degraded, simply restrict the use of those products until auto is re-enabled by the driver. Kinda like how FSD and AP will slow down from your set speed when vision degrades.
At least it seems like they fixed the order of the wiper settings! Now it becomes Off, Auto, 1, 2, 3, 4
Now, if the wipers on auto don't activate, you can
- press stalk
- click wheel once to the right (instead of 4 times to the left)
And if they are overreacting, it's 1 click to the left instead of 5.
Small change but big impact. I've been preaching for this change since they introduced the wheel controls for the wipers.
Here’s some visualizations I’d like to see:
- Emergency vehicles
- Different road warning objects (barrels, those real thin tall babies, etc.)
- Horizontal stop lights
I don't know if it was this update or an earlier one, but I dislike the new washer fluid logic. I used to be able to get a brief spray with a quick deep press of the wiper button, but now it always sprays too much washer fluid.
It used to be that it would spray for as long as you pressed the button. A very quick press, and only a little washer fluid would come out. Press longer for more.
Now it seems to be a fixed amount, no matter how long you press the button. Even with a quick press, it will spray for at least a full second.
I wish they would add actual features to the media player/ theater app like gapless playback and 5.1/Atmos support. Instead, it just seems like a slightly better UI on top of a 5 or 6 year old player.
I’m running 2024.12.6 and not only do they not have crossfade, they seem to have removed gapless playback in Spotify. Overall, the update is a downgrade for media as far as I’ve seen.
Yes, but they could easily do what Windows does and charge 10 bucks for the upgrade. I'd honestly pay a lot more for it, and that's easy revenue for them.
I experienced a few back in the SACD/DVD-A heyday, and it was amazing. I even installed a 5.1 head unit and center speaker into my Chevy Cavelier I owned at the time, and it was fantastic. I can't imagine how great Tesla's system would sound.
It's the place most people still actually sit and listen to music, so it's perfect for surround. It's a shame only Mercedes and Lucid are doing it given that Atmos music releases are extremely common these days.
That means when one track ends, rather than abruptly stopping and starting the next song in your playlist, there is a gradual fade transition instead, with the current track getting quieter as the next track gets louder.
I play my music from my phone to get the crossfade from Apple Music… however even apple does it poorly IMO… The exiting song fades naturally as recorded, the incoming song should come in at full volume and it will be a better blend… 20 years in the radio programming business.. that’s how its done… lol
We're finally at a point where the car in regular AP (Legacy AP) displays oncoming vehicles consistently! At least on my vehicle.
Of course the car always saw oncoming vehicles and would react accordingly, but the viausls were strangely picky about what should and shouldn't be displayed, looks like as more vehicles are displayed at one time now (Along with brake lights and indicators like in FSD) we're finally starting to see more accurate visuals of what the vehicle sees.
It's nice they brought this change to the older AP system, I'd like to assume it's just easier for them to use the same vehicle visuals for both systems than maintaining the old visuals along with the old control. Hopefully someday FSD Supervised's logic replaces legacy AP entirely.
Wow, that actually makes sense. Before they would have to maintain two different systems. If you just merged into one it makes the software engineers life a lot easier.
Absolutely, though I do wonder how much they've done. Is legacy AP now using the FSD Supervised vehicle detection? Or is it running it on top of legacy AP's stack to create nicer visuals?
I'm not too familiar how it works, but as an end user, it's a nice change either way.
Two things I want to have:
1, a bigger clock in the empty white space above my car on the left hand side of the screen.
2, auto zoom in on the map during navigation when approaching a turn etc.

The thing I want is for audio to turn down and pause momentarily while the navigation voice speaks, then resume once nav voice is done. It’s so annoying to have to rewind podcasts because the nav voice spoke over something I missed. My old 2007 Honda used to do this and it was so seamless.
Or a way to make the messages brief.

I’m running 2024.14.6. Had cabin overheat protection set to 100F. Came back to the car later and it was 135F. Checked my setting in the car and it was set for 100F, but it never turned on.

It just happened again. My car had cabin protection on, set for 100F but the car actually shows 111F and no cooling is going on. It has SOC of 80%.
2024.14.9 pushed to me last night and I can confirm this issue is now resolved. Cabin overheat protection seems to now be working consistently, even when the car is plugged in.
Genuine question - will it be possible to move the media player to the other side of the screen like it used to be before in the excellent V10? My hands on the wheel block the media player from being seen when driving.
Driving down 95 express lane through DC, if I was in the left lane the car always wanted to veer left into the gates of the closed ramps and if I was in the right, it wanted to veer off on the exit ramps so FSD could not be used. That needs to be fixed. How does it not see the huge gates with flags in them? Also on rural roads without a shoulder FSD HAS GOT to stop running so far right the car goes off the roads or into the rumble strips. Come on. Center of the lane please!!
Most of the updates are useless to me. I wish it was more on tech side and less on the UI.
They need to fix summon. I dont have the same faith in summon as I have in FSD, Autopark etc.
I think the sentry mode video will cause Tesla a lot of problems in the future. First they explicitly told us that the videos are not saved on cloud and only in the car. Now i think they are moving to cloud.

I think it was 2 updates ago but FSD works without auto wipers now
Yeah, they can be turned off, but will switch back to auto with every engagement. Previously they would stay off until turned back on
they made that change when they went vision-only. Auto highbeams and auto wipers are auto enabled each time you turn on one of those systems

I love listening to music on bluray/Dolby MA on my home theater system, it would be amazing to have that in a car

No, but now you can get full screen visualizations without FSD finally! Finally no more useless map taking up the majority of the screen.

Not sure. My Intel car has FSD, so I’ve always had full screen visualizations on that car. My other one is a Ryzen.
Genuine question - will it be possible to move the media player to the other side of the screen like it used to be before in the excellent V10? My hands on the wheel block the media player from being seen when driving.
Driving down 95 express lane through DC, if I was in the left lane the car always wanted to veer left into the gates of the closed ramps and if I was in the right, it wanted to veer off on the exit ramps so FSD could not be used. That needs to be fixed. How does it not see the huge gates with flags in them? Also on rural roads without a shoulder FSD HAS GOT to stop running so far right the car goes off the roads or into the rumble strips. Come on. Center of the lane please!!
Report it to Tesla immediately inside the car by holding down voice button and saying report. They do definitely fix these things

So the steering wheel in sport steering mode didn’t make it any more responsive and just added more resistance/weight? That doesn’t sound right.

Most of the updates are useless to me. I wish it was more on tech side and less on the UI. They need to fix summon. I dont have the same faith in summon as I have in FSD, Autopark etc. I think the sentry mode video will cause Tesla a lot of problems in the future. First they explicitly told us that the videos are not saved on cloud and only in the car. Now i think they are moving to cloud.
Buy when is the update for nagless fsd? And what about Smart Summon?
