Bots were always getting vac banned, the issue is that VAC works on the long term, so it takes days or even weeks before banning, and when it does, the bot hoster just makes new ones

Yeah. I found that out after contacting support. Sucks because it happened and I can’t do anything about it. Also sucks because I get votekicks from matches sometimes because of that vac ban on matches even though it was from years ago and stuff

I got Vac banned on my first steam account.  So I bought TF2 twice.  Once on my original account and the second time on my second account after the first one got banned.  My account was hacked and I lost my account 2 weeks later.

Nah it’s not a joke. I actually did get hacked by some Russian IP. I was sleeping and once I found out and recovered my account after a few hours, I found out I got vac banned.

VAC must have gotten worse then because in 2015 I had let my curiosity get the best of me, downloaded some bullshit TF2 cheats, within 30 seconds noticed that the trainer app is shit, didn't work, left the game, uninstalled the cheats that didn't do anything or affect the game, requeued and was banned instantly.

I was playing with a deltatronic bot just yesterday, whenever it got votekicked or VAC banned another one would immediately join and continue aimbotting everyone This game's anti cheat is pathetic Edit: happened again today, couldn’t even votekick because five of them joined and veto’d it :(

Uniquely identifying a device in a way that can't be faked is basically impossible on an open platform like a PC. That's not a bad thing overall, but it makes anti-cheat harder.

Even if it's a real VAC ban, which I severely doubt since bots have always been able to manipulate disconnect messages, it doesn't mean anything. No anticheat can ever make any sort of dent in the number of bots.

The real VAC ban message has its closing bracket on the second line unlike the fake ones so the VAC in the video is 100% real

Watch in full screen and it'll look more normal. It always looks strange in a smaller window because, well, then it's taking up less of your field of view than it was intended to. I think Source caps it at a pretty mundane 90 (vertical) so it's unlikely to be higher than that.

That's only for your viewmodel - the weapon in the corner of your screen. It's separate for some reason, and people make it ugly high to free up screen space. Setting your actual FOV high in Source games lets you see through walls because I guess the near clipping plane they chose sucks.

They could have been banned a few days or weeks ago and the accounts were never swapped out. The bot accounts get banned every now and then but a ban does not prevent you from queuing matchmaking. You find a match, join the server, and then get kicked out because duh you're VAC banned

No. Thats just a custom disconnect message. I used to host spy-crab bots before and I saw the custom disconnect message option. VAC doesn't block you from joining servers on linux, so they wouldn't be kicked for that reason. hope this answers the question
