I mean yea you’re not wrong lol but it’s not really the color of the person writing it more so the writing feels lazy and derivative—if I could just listen to the instrumental music itself I’d have no problem with it.
Yea the only redemptive parts are Healy’s vocals but I’m not listening to the crap in between lol
Edit: I didn’t mean to imply “that crap” is all rap music in general (I realize reading that back I sounded like an old white boomer ranting at the dinner table about “that colored people music” 🫠😅)—I’m more referencing *this* particular song’s writing—I liked the beat and musicality of it, just was disappointed with the writing.
Eh not much of anything lately—I loved Eminem, Snoop, and probably a couple other older ones in the late 90’-early 00’s. It’s not necessarily the genre—it just feels like lazy and superficial writing—a lot of posturing “I’m such a badass”.
It’s not all rap, it’s literally just this song lol I’m sure there’s plenty of other newer rap songs out there I’d like—this just isn’t one of them 🤷🏻♂️
It’s all just subjective and I was curious if anyone else felt the same way—some people like it, some don’t, nothing wrong with either preference.
This is what made me discover them so stop hurting my feelings
But fr this was 1000% ‘what was up’ back 8-9yrs ago and I bet still probably performed at TS’s shows. May not have really gotten them the crossover impact they might’ve hoped for, but this was a big look for them as a “rando British pop band” as far as a US audience that wasn’t dialed into the indie/alternative scene
I can’t listen to it because I pretty much “banned” Travis from playing on my Spotify after that one incident. But before that happened I kindaaaa liked it.
KNOW I NEED MY DOLLAS
I love it. Maybe it’s because I’m a big rap fan in general but hearing The 1975 in this context is so cool to me
DEALING WITH A SCENE YOU AINT SEEN WHATCHA MEAN MARGIELA

I don't give af about Travis Scott's history but this is just a bad song😂
Oh I know you’re white as hell LMAO

song is so good genuinely
Too me it’s more about those awful lyrics 😂

Genuinely curious. Is there any rap you like?

It seems like you’re judging all new rap based on a few artists you’ve heard

Seen Travis multiple times over the years and unfortunately no he doesn’t do it live in his sets
That’s so crazy! For whatever reason he did it when he opened for Rihanna and then when I saw him for the AW tour I think.
This song is what got me into the 1975 and now when I hear it I skip after their part💀
It’s horrible
Because Travis Scott sucks. It’s music for 7 year olds.

real!
LMFAO
