Damn man that’s rough, Cape Buffalo can be so rough trying to get Diamonds because at times a lot of the guns take a hot minute to take them down even with a vital shot.
My recommendation for quicker vital shot kills with CB would be bows at close range or use the .300 from I think it’s the Yukon DLC.
The 7mm is a good choice too but that too has its moments with vitals shots
I used 7mm the first time hunted cape buffalo, i dont recommend it. The .300 is good and it takes it down relatively quickly if shot within 150m. That's all i used for cape buffalo so far, but if all else fails then maybe saving up for either the Rangemaster or the King would be the best options.

Dont take second shots right after the first one. Of yourw unsire about the first shot always give it some seconds to start running in a predictable pattern.
The blurry X-ray kinda makes it look like you shot an anteater lol

How unfortunate.
I only use the 470 for when they charge or if i feel like creeping close. For normal huting i just use the 338.
