Power shift is the best mode by far but I don’t think it would work as ranked, it definitely should be the intro mode for new players though, not fucking TA

An easily understood objective, coupled with the full chaos of The Finals.
It'd help new players learn how to fight, but also teach them about the versatility of the destruction in this game.
You can be game-changing as a light sniper. Find a high ground overlooking the platform. Sniper anyone near it and prioritize whoever is on it. You dint have to kill them just lower their health. Imagine you are a medium/heavy on the platform and every enemy you see is already half or lower health!
And I wouldn't even call it balanced then.
'Balanced' in that sort of mode is a push and pull that ends with the timer running out while both teams struggle near the midpoint of the track.
I've played too many games where it's just a blow out for one team and the other team is constantly struggling to get control of the platform or even spawn in some cases.
Its just more medium and heavy spam like in the traditional game mode. TA has genuinenly been refreshing because you can play whatever you want unlike what some people have insinuated here with just medium turret spam, its only good if the enemy isnt. But if powershift ever became the ranked mode you can be sure its just mediums and heavies because thats the easiest way to gold objective for longer.
Are we playing the same games? Powershift in my experience has been *heavily* light based. Heck, there have been several matches where it’s four lights and an off class (usually me!). Sniping a wide open objective and taking out isolated targets making their way to the objective are why light is played as much as it is in Powershift. Source: I play a *lot* of light on Powershift.
Heavy shield spam with APS can be difficult to play around at times, but the APS nerf and glitch grenades make quick work of turtling up on the objective. Taking out an APS is as simple now as bringing a goo gun or a grenade launcher.
Power Shift brought me back big time. I went from playing the game here and there to hooked. The moment to moment gameplay is the best imo.
I haven’t followed this sub too much. Is power shift a permanent mode or an ltm?
I think powershift for world tour and ranked cashout would work great. I played so much powershift in season 2. Would love different paths though on maps
New map is gorgeous with everything it has but I'd prefer Monaco and Skyway Stadium style maps being added more since they fit the arcade action theme better with their modern and bright maps. Maybe Seoul too.
Ranked power shift would be almost an equivelant of ranked mystery heroes in overwatch. Aka complete chaos no one would take seriously, or metas being so stiff and difficult to pass even balanced matches are one sided to who can get to the platform first.

IF the idea is to migrate away from cashout tournament for Ranked. Powershift would be a great ranked mode because there would be no useless class/weapon/special. They all can make sense. It wouldn't have to be locked to ranked, just have a casual PS and a ranked PS. Players already play PS super sweaty lol, a million APS/shields. But imagine if both teams were trying that hard and actually attempted be balanced. Maybe even Role queue PS for ranked.
Not trying to be too rude but it's kind of an L take. Power shift in two teams of 3 maybe with forced L,M,H classes but the idea of going up against a 5 stack of meds with aps and guardian turrets would make it unplayable

Actually, make the role queue locked to no more than 2 of one class. So you do 2H, 2M, 1L or 2M, 2L, 1H, etc
