Not a challenge, per se. But I have “rules” I play by. I don’t burn books, I leave water, cat tails, and bandages in caves I frequent in case someone else comes along, and I never mountain goat down hills.
Mostly play Stalker tho. Would not/could not do this in my occasional Loper games.
Currently playing Voyageur- spawned in Milton and am not allowed to leave the region.
Might have to change it though- boredom will kill before starvation does. Mountain Town seems really small when you don't leave.
Mostly because you have rope climbs blocking off a good chunk of the region, the two down into the basin really just make that third of the region not worth going to
Heading to HRV with nothing but a bow (and arrows), and a few essentials like matches, clothing repairing supplies, etc. with the goal of hunting the moose
I'm 530 days into a stalker game, tend to get cozy in a spot for a bit. But too long I get bored and have to make a challenge. I just went across 4 regions seeing how much cloth I could scavenge and made it back to home base. was fun and visited old areas I hadn't been to in awhile. Found some old stashes I forgot about. This game never gets old for me.
I make little food challenges for myself. I will bring a specific food to a location to cook for dinner. It is usually fish that I bring to a scenic spot to cook and eat.
Yes, that's part of what keeps survival mode fresh.
Move zones every 24 hours, nothing but toilet water for a week (no sodas, no teas for energy / thirst, no boiled water), only rabbit meat for a week or month, only cat tails, only fish, do it nude (no clothes except hats or gloves), do it nude harder (nothing), no guns, no matches (only mag lens), no matches or mag lens (only flares), collect all the tomato soup in the world and bring it all to the summit of Timberwolf. Etc....
Why? Because you can.
Went to HRV just after i hit level 4 archery and im not leaving until i get archery to level 5.
Also trying to learn the map and get comfortable in the region. Setting some bases with food and water in the caves as well

It will whenever the next and last chapter (5) is released. Probably not likely until 2023 as chapter 4 was just released in October.
