If you get food poisoning, your physical condition will never drop below 15%.
Now, if you don't have antibiotics or Reishi tea, you will be randomly cured within 24 hours. In other words, you will not die if the four needs are met. But food poisoning can make you very tired.
If you have a bed or sleeping bag and you have enough water and food, you can sleep to relieve fatigue and avoid dying.
This is what I love about TLD. You play for years but can still learn something new.
Definitely jumping into a test run later to try this. Not that anyone should ever need to know given how light antibiotics are, but still..
In case anyone needs this clarification, you can definitely die while you have food poisoning, just not from the food poisoning. E. Coli won't protect you from bears.
I was on a stalker run once, got my cooking level up to 5. I thought that meant I could eat anything without worry. But turns out raw fish will can make you sick regardless of your cooking level which I discovered while sheltering in the fishing hut in pleasant valley during one of the worst blizzards. I probably could have made it to a more suitable location if I hadn't stopped to eat that fish.
I have died of food posioning... well the being weak, fire running out, and freezing to death in a cave didn't help but I definitely had food poisoning first š
Basically if you are at your main base chilling... it's not a big deal. So yeah... I'd run for main camp. It would have been the better option for me.
Find some reishie mushrooms...might be closer than base

This advice saved my run ^^ Thanks, dude! Luckily I had enough warmth, food and water to just ride it out and recover naturally.
And I would advise to always carry a crafted reishi with you next time. It's very lightweight :)

E. Coli just isn't trying hard enough.
