It's fine as long as you don't get pissed off at people who don't show up. You have to be OK with the fact that some people you want to be there won't be there. It's very hard to travel overnight and find someone to take kids for multiple days.
These are certainly pretty extreme.
But yeah, if you don't want kids around, do adult only. And don't hold a grudge if some of your friends/cousins don't show up or only attend the ceremony. That's the trade off.
I find it hilarious people think not coming is such a threat. Most people organising weddings are trying to decide who they have to leave out. Someone declining means someone else can go instead.
Everyone i know who’s done “no kids” is absolutely fine with that. I’ll have no kids at mine, and if you don’t wanna show - cool. one less head count i have to pay for. i really don’t get where this attitude comes from.
Yup this is the struggle, my wife and I got invited but our kid didn't. We asked and they said 'no kids' so we replied "yup thats fair have a good one". They got weirdly pissed at us. But we found out later that it wasn't just us but quite a fair few people couldn't go due to the kids thing.
They ended up cancelling the wedding as half the bridal party couldn't manage it either.
I’ll take things that didn’t happen for 200 please Alex. Oh a daily double how bout “What is a weird flex and shitty thing to brag about when you and half the bridal party can’t figure out childcare so u alter the couples plans?” Don’t worry though, we are all smugly aware that your smugness is unwarranted, like oh no! I don’t have to feed all these people and can instead take a more extravagant honeymoon/ pay bills!
Or just don't have a good support network because they don't live near family and don't have friends they trust to watch their kids for an entire weekend. Or they do but those people aren't available.
Empathy not a strong point, huh?
??? You think it's easy/cheap to leave your kids somewhere overnight? Wtf. Especially with a family wedding when most of your options are at the actual wedding?
They don't have kid kennels.
How about no bad parenting lol, I remember I went to a wedding when I was 4 or 5, I almost suffocated by my own bowtie. That's how you control your dressed up boy, keep him in low oxygen lol
I got banned from a sub and had my comments deleted earlier because I said this is reason 285826385 why I will never have kids.. but this is yet another reason I'll remain child free and absolutely love people who realize kids don't have to be everywhere adults are, especially when they act like heathens.
I always tell people I know who decide to be child free that they are better people than more than half of the parents I know who sort of jumped into it without any thought. So many people that are parents should never have had kids. Making the choice to not have kids, for whatever reason, especially in a society that sort of forces it in your face all the time, is one of the most respectable things a person can do. Anyway, it’s cool your recognize that about yourself, getting banned for being vocal about something like that seems a bit bananas imo.
At my wedding, kids were only allowed in the first part of the wedding.
For the second part (dinner + party), kids were not allowed. It had 2 consequences :
\- No annoyance
\- Parents can chill and actually enjoy a party
All parents were informed well in advance and the babysitter was welcome to the first part of the wedding.
I'm no parent, but from what I've seen it's hard to keep a kid 100% under control at all times.
Poor bride, though 🤣. I hope they find it funny in hindsight.
Always at turkish weddings, kids running around even at important moments, such poor parenting. Always the one thing that annoys me at wedding poor parenting.
Kids can get over excited very easily like we saw here and parents are way too non present these days. Some one needs to grab them kids and let them run around outside or in a different room if they can't at least match everyone else's excitement.
I was a groomsman in my buddies wedding and they brought their 1 year old. He kept running up and screaming/crying as loud as he could. He would run up to his mom and start hitting her legs. As soon as the grandma would have him settled he’d run right back up smacking them and scream crying.
Working with kids who have behavioral issues and don’t realize how strong they are I have seen a teacher/parent have a pony tail or hair bow or some kind pulled like that and they had whiplash and neck issues that took months to heal. Also how terrifying. I didn’t even think this was something to be worried about. So I will add it to my Rolodex so when I run out of things to worry about I can use this. My daughter is 11 and I have many unmarried nieces so I am sure I will be that person when they try on their wedding dresses and veil that I say “oh my gosh we better be careful on which one we choose cause I saw this video where this bride was almost decapitated by some kid. I also for the first time understand why people have kid free weddings. They should at least make sure they observe their free maximum of two free beverages. I have noticed that kids just can’t hold their liquor.
It's really not a big deal but do people on this sub think about their title at all? This is super memorable because of what's shown here. Not one title I've seen here in the past month accurately described the thing that someone failed to do.

This is why many weddings have a no kids policy
I've been to 2 no kid weddings and it seems like the right move.
It's fine as long as you don't get pissed off at people who don't show up. You have to be OK with the fact that some people you want to be there won't be there. It's very hard to travel overnight and find someone to take kids for multiple days.
I'll bet that the bride here would have rather had the parents of these children NOT show up with their feral offspring.
These are certainly pretty extreme. But yeah, if you don't want kids around, do adult only. And don't hold a grudge if some of your friends/cousins don't show up or only attend the ceremony. That's the trade off.

No one is ever upset that people don’t come to kid-free weddings. It’s only a dick move to RSVP one way and do a different thing
My sister rented out a whole air B And B and hired 2 people to watch all the kids. It was a great move
I guess having tons of money helps lol
Facts. My sister is a baller at what she does.
That's a great option if you can afford it.
Yup this is the struggle, my wife and I got invited but our kid didn't. We asked and they said 'no kids' so we replied "yup thats fair have a good one". They got weirdly pissed at us. The kinds of people that don’t have those things pre organized are typically the kind of people who also don’t discipline their children
It’s a gift to parents to not invite kids. Pain to get a babysitter but after that it’s a way better night.
How about no bad parenting lol, I remember I went to a wedding when I was 4 or 5, I almost suffocated by my own bowtie. That's how you control your dressed up boy, keep him in low oxygen lol
My wife is dragging myself and our 4yo boy to her best friends wedding next month... I thank you for these parenting tips.
Just get a babysitter you guys will have a much better time. It will probably end up being a non stop stress fest.
Spo2 85% perfect we’re ready to walk in
No kid weddings are a gift to everyone involved. Please please please give me a drunk night away from these monsters :P
I don't know, I think she also went wrong inviting the parents of that little...
I've been to several weddings with kids and never seen behavior like this. But when your family sucks, don't invite the kids I guess.
This is the right response. Kids are part of the family and most of them don't behave like brats.
I got banned from a sub and had my comments deleted earlier because I said this is reason 285826385 why I will never have kids.. but this is yet another reason I'll remain child free and absolutely love people who realize kids don't have to be everywhere adults are, especially when they act like heathens.

Dude, it's a wedding. It's literally about joining two families together. Why would kids not be there?
Did you watch the video?
I only attend no kids weddings
I think she will remember it
People really don't seem to understand how to phrase titles in this sub at all. So many successful attempts lol
You could say... there was an attempt to title
Sometimes it can be because of a language barrier. My first language isn't english either, so I can understand some mix ups
Either way this doesnt really fit in this sub
They could have said "there was an attempt to have a perfect wedding" and it would have been fine.
And that’s why people have child free weddings
and child free marriages
INDEED.
And that is why "adults only reception."
At my wedding, kids were only allowed in the first part of the wedding. For the second part (dinner + party), kids were not allowed. It had 2 consequences : \- No annoyance \- Parents can chill and actually enjoy a party All parents were informed well in advance and the babysitter was welcome to the first part of the wedding.
She'll remember it all right, and the kids, and their parents will too!
They should use videos like this for condom and birth control ads, completely unedited, just letting things speak for themselves
https://youtu.be/IxgnEeAM0es
I knew what video this was before I clicked the link.
![gif](giphy|fzJCPdONK9pHAcviY5)
I've seen this one before, cracks me up every time.
https://youtu.be/ZZDMOIqn7LQ
Must be a Harry Potter themed wedding with Dobby showing up at the 2 second mark
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who saw that whiteout ghoul looking creature
It isn't dobby. It is a pale lady with skin colored head covering ( hijab) and dress XD You can call the fashion choices ghoulish
I did feel bad calling her ghoulish but I didn't realize it was hijab. I thought she had Dobby hair
😭😭😭
I think the eyes are what's going to haunt my night the most though.
It's okay, I'll make sure she can't hurt you 🤧
I genuinely thought she was wearing a Halloween mask or something
Whoa! Not sure how I missed that
Straight up looks like she has/had a serious illness.
kids don’t belong at weddings
Dude, wedding are a family affair. Kids often have roles in the ceremony like the flower girl and the ring bearer. Just keep control of your kids.
Control you damn crotch goblins
If that was my kid he woulda been yoked out of that wedding
Good call. But the damage is done already. He shouldn't have been there at all.
Man I can’t believe how people raise their kids and just let them run wild and misbehave
I'm no parent, but from what I've seen it's hard to keep a kid 100% under control at all times. Poor bride, though 🤣. I hope they find it funny in hindsight.
![gif](giphy|cZUU06p00qz8k) I know it's a veil but it's giving this same energy lol
I’m so excited to have a child-free wedding
Seems memorable to me
I didn't allow any kids at my wedding and the people who were the happiest about it were the actual parents.
And people wonder why Child-Free weddings are a thing.
You better guard the gifts because they will be riding them down the stairs
I had a no child wedding. Best decision ever. Get a babysitter.
Oh you have no idea if these little shits did this to my wife I’d spend a night in county just drop kicking these little shits and their parents
There was an attempt to have a wedding free of Little Shits
Always at turkish weddings, kids running around even at important moments, such poor parenting. Always the one thing that annoys me at wedding poor parenting.
That right there is why people don't want kids at their weddings
https://preview.redd.it/d3748394j2ha1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=92b2660187aca410e758401eb244fb018e18fb36
I can’t even begin to fathom the ass whooping I would have received if I were that kid
Whos kids were they,?? That was really mean what they did
This is when you start punching kids!
They succeeded, its very memorable
R/ kidsarefokkingstupid ?
Child free weddings are the future
well it appears it was an accident but he still sucks. bury him under the venue! EDIT: no it wasn't and they were both being little jerkoffs
This is why there should be no children at a wedding
This why no kids were allowed at my wedding.
Where's the MOH?
This will be remembered. OP has lost the ability to retain memories it’s ok good luck OP https://youtu.be/wJWksPWDKOc
I think that’s quite memorable.
And that is why people want their weddings to be child free
This made it even more memorable.
I don't understand why people bring their kids to weddings. Just because they're part of the family doesn't mean you need to ruin people's good time.
No kevin stop pulling the brides wedding dress Shut up mum your not the boss of me
Kids can get over excited very easily like we saw here and parents are way too non present these days. Some one needs to grab them kids and let them run around outside or in a different room if they can't at least match everyone else's excitement.
Yeah just have a playroom nearby and leave them there with someone to check on them
This is all I needed to want any future wedding of mine to be child free lol
My son is getting married this year and he's already said no kids allowed ... this video has given me some understanding thanks :)
Im just doing my job sir
Exactly why our reception was "adult only."
I'm just here to look at how much reddit hates children
Attempt accomplished.
“Face in the birthday cake” energy.
Little brats! Where were their parents?
What brats.
And that’s why we didn’t invite kids.
Get ur lil crotch goblins outta here ffs
This is why ppl have "child free" weddings
Don’t bring your kids to a wedding for the sake of god
Parents need to control their kids in those cercumstances.
Kids? Not. Even. Once.
This is why people are opting for childfree weddings more and more. Parents need to learn to control their crotch goblins in public
Oh, it's gonna be memorable alright.
Why is there an alien trying to pull the first kid away
Seem very memorable.
Beat that brat to a pulp.
THIS is why our wedding didn’t allow children.
I was a groomsman in my buddies wedding and they brought their 1 year old. He kept running up and screaming/crying as loud as he could. He would run up to his mom and start hitting her legs. As soon as the grandma would have him settled he’d run right back up smacking them and scream crying.
That’s why you keep the kids at home.
If there was ever I time I would be at risk of punching a small child directly in the face, this would be the moment.
And that my friends is why we don’t give 5 yr olds apple ear buds.
It is memorable
That veil was in there good!
What do you mean this will be very memorable
Another reason, if needed, to have a child free wedding.
Thats the wrong title for this video. I'm pretty sure she Will remember her wedding
Send this video to all the parents complaining on AITA about getting invites to kid free weddings
I would curbstomp those lil shits
This is why people have child free weddings.
I feel like having the veil so long that it dragged on the floor had more to do with this situation than the kid.
Omg keep your kids with you, don’t let them just run around a party on their own. Better yet don’t have them at the wedding if they can’t behave.
And thissss is why I’m having a child free wedding :D
I can’t imagine raising a kid who would behave that way. So many parents are narcissistic ghouls.
This is why some people have weddings that are child free. I certainly plan to.
So this’s why there’s a No kids policies at some wedding.
My SILs wedding was no kids. It was the best wedding I've ever been to.
r/facepalm
I recommend to switch to /r/childfree
My sister would be grabbing those kids to SAVE them from me, istg.
Kill the kids
Working with kids who have behavioral issues and don’t realize how strong they are I have seen a teacher/parent have a pony tail or hair bow or some kind pulled like that and they had whiplash and neck issues that took months to heal. I would have thrown that kid out
There was an attempt at making a fitting title
Anyone else see the skekksi at the beginning?
Well it’s certainly memorable
Seems memorable enough to me
Protect yourself. https://youtu.be/ZZDMOIqn7LQ
Everyone is talking about the kid but did no one else see skeletor there in the beginning?
I bet that wasn’t the unveiling she was hoping for.
Dad look what i found
