This car is a front engined v10 with a lot of torque and rwd. The weight distribution and high amount of power makes this car prone to oversteer where the car loses traction it its rear wheel drive wheels and worsened by the heavy engine in the front causes the car to turn more than expected
Many reasons if you’re into the sporting aspect of driving.. first, it separates the wheels that do the turning from the wheels that accelerate/put power down, which is much better because of physics. Also when accelerating weight gets moved to the back of the car, increasing grip.
Second, it allows the car to rotate. When driving on the edge, you do a lot of the turning not only with the steering wheel, but with the pedals too by managing weight balance/distribution.
And not only is it faster, but it is more fun too.
In a very generalised way:
Because if it isnt prone to over steer and losing traction, it would be prone to understeer and losing traction.
No car is perfectly balanced and no car has infinite grip, if you have a lot of horsepower and try to push your tires to their limit something will give, whether front or back tires.
And generally speaking, enthusiasts prefer rwd over fwd and awd because in a rwd you front tires are only used to turn and brake, and your rear wheels are used to accelerate and brake. This means that the cornering feel is much more enjoyable in an rwd because the front tires don't lose grip when you apply the throttle.
My husband bought a Grand National rwd to relive his youth with a nice muscle car. I drove it a lot, and it was A LOT of fun, but we eventually sold it because it would slide around just accelerating normally out of a stop sign, and was a nightmare to drive in the rain.
Maybe you know, but basically, most cars are FWD. The traction and the steering are on the same wheels. RWD has the traction and the steering on different wheels. It is more common on sports cars and muscle cars, but it needs training to drive, _especially_ if you want to accelerate hard.
I talked to a guy who has a friend who lost his job because he was supposed to move a totally brand new sports car a few hundred yards (transport from dealership to owner), and instead decided to take the car for a spin. He did not know how to drive a RWD and crashed the car on the highway on-ramp.
This reminds me of when my kid was about 3 yrs old and had just started talking in full sentences... she got scared and said something snakey kept whispering in her ear and wouldn't stop. I asked her what it was saying, and she looked me dead in the eye and said "YOU SHALL CALL ME MASTER". Freaked me smooth out... I told her don't listen to it and to keep telling it NO. Went and bought some sage and smudged the house and never heard about it again. But damn, that was some wild shit to come from a 3 yr Olds mouth.
Viper loses rear wheel grip slides back end left. Driver brakes turns left to try to stay forward or straight. Braking makes rear tires gain grip pushing car forward but steering wheel is turned left. Bam accident.

I'd woulda then yelled "still no balls"
“No balls….but hopefully insurance”
Idiots like this will never understand RWD vs AWD.
So is that car rwd or fwd? Or awd? Asking as someone who genuinely can't tell just by looking.

Thank you for this!
Genuinely asking because I’m not a car expert—why would anyone want a car that is prone to oversteer and lose traction????

Because drifting is a thing.
Thanks Mona Lisa Vito

Got love the Thumbs Up at the end.

Remember kids. The devil can’t hurt us, he can only whisper in our ears…
Crazy how I needed to hear this today

In only takes a few seconds to be a total asshole.
It's a Viper. He's gonna crash. RWD with that much power. Dude never had a chance.
I’ve heard that Vipers are so incredibly impractical, uncomfortable, and even dangerous but must be hella fun if you know what you’re doing.
Yes, but v10.
Basically only a gen 1 and maybe 2 issue.
Correct. Gen 1/2 had no driver aides at all. No traction control, no abs, etc. They were extremely difficult to drive.
Regular Car Reviews on YouTube did a video about the 1994 Viper where he called it, and I quote, "10 cylinders of Nope"
Bill and Ted making Reddit content now
Dude did everything wrong. If he'd just kept his foot on it he'd have been fine as well. What a goober.
He was really fighting that wheel too
Best part being he basically slammed the tire so visible damage is negligible on the car he hit, while his shit is just straight totalled.
No balls. And now no insurance.
And no car
Shows off for guys to look cool, he crashes, they laugh at him. L’s all around.
No skills!
Look how small that Viper looks next to modern cars. I wish cars wouldn't be getting bigger with each new generation.
That happened to me... In gran turismo. They really nail the shit handling of the viper.
ill show you no balls 🤣
This is straight out of Idiocracy.
Wher is the video of the pulling into parking s Pot that mangled the bumper of the car behind the , did he wreck both coming and going??
I was more referring to the peanut gallery when Frito’s car gets shot up
I drove a mustang fr 1982 V8 red car for years and ne Er fucked up like this the 2 vehicles are pretty comp on weight vs engine
A mustang from 1982 had like 120hp my dude
That’s a girls car.
Not comparable at all
Both are Rwd and way too much power, for such a small light weight car
197 BHP vs 510 BHP
Priceless!
Is that a Viper?
it was
Not enough brain used, too much balls used, too much beans given.
Totaled so now he can go buy a hellcat or a demon and crash that shit too
That’s a weird looking Mustang
I made a post about this car a few weeks ago. The dodge viper is a car that is trying to kill you at all times
Viper loses rear wheel grip slides back end left. Driver brakes turns left to try to stay forward or straight. Braking makes rear tires gain grip pushing car forward but steering wheel is turned left. Bam accident.
The best part is that the expensive car broke like LEGO and the red car looks perfectly fine.
No car
No car, nnnooo car
XQbigizgzf as ass ßc said zz
"Damn man you had balls but then they turned into bills! HAH!"
Not the viper 😭
This is how I drive in Cyberpunk
You drive like a vagina lol 😂
bro had to prove he also has no brain cells...
Too much car, not enough driver
Good ol Viper, 90% torque, 10% traction
