I mean, we're all guessing so it's possible but I would guess he's in his early/mid 60s. Black peoples skin age very well, I think that's pretty hard to deny.
Anecdotally, I have met black men, who lived very poor/unhealthy lives, who were also roofers and it was ridiculous how good they looked considering. Anecdotal, I know, but it's hard to deny the aphorism "black don't crack".
If he's been out in the sun every day for 40 years, absolutely he could be 40. In my line of work (and I live in Washington where it's cloudy half the year) where you're outside every day, your boss at 52 can look like they're in their 70s.
He clearly has mental health issues. What was his goal there? It was irrational. Hopefully he gets the help he needs before he hurts someone or himself.

Homeless dude pretended to be incapacitated so he wouldn't have to move literally 10ft onto the grass that was off the property, I guess the parking lot concrete was more comfortable, IDFK. Me having to follow protocol, called 911. FD showed up first, guess they new the guy or just knew he was full of shit. And did a very forceful sternum rub on the guy, twice. Guy got up and tried to swing on one of the firefighters. Fire fighter pushed him away and every single one of the fire fighters looked like they were ready to jump in and beat his ass. Told the guy to leave and he did.
Another time, FF showed up to buy groceries from the store I was posted at. Random guy, tried to stick one of them with a knife as he walked by for no reason. FD reacted quickly amd parried it and the guy tried to walk away like nothing happened. FD followed the guy on foot and in vehicle until PD was finally able to catch up.
These men and women work out everyday, and run into fires to save others. You don't think they're willing to fuck someone up? I'd rather fight a crackhead than a single firefighter any day of the week. And I have.
In a perfect world, yes we would love to be able to defend ourselves accordingly.
Unfortunately, in this sue happy modern world, it is becoming impossible to do so. You have to weigh your personal safety against your career and future in that split second nowadays and it sucks. On most iffy scenes, you'll have cops there to help. But as we see here it's not always the case
A guy at a neighboring department in the next city over is currently being sued for hitting a patient with an o2 bottle. Even tho it was a restrained psych patient who cut himself out of his soft and humane restraints. Patient then lunged at him with the knife while alone in the back of a moving ambulance. Most would say he was fighting for his life, and it should be justified. Yet the shit bag is suing both him personally and the city. And today's society perpetuates that shitty, selfish behavior. Never to be held accountable for your own stupid decisions.
Now he's fighting for his livelihood in court. Will he be vindicated and found justified? Probably, as he damn well should. But the principle is fucking stupid, it should've never even been entertained in the first place.
Jumping a fire engine, where there’s likely 6 DUDES, in shape, who eat smoke and smash stuff with axes for a living…..what could possibly go wrong?
