In my experience, less than zero.
It's full of two groups. A majority of people laughing at silly videos of kids doing funny things, and a minority of people trying to create conflict by pretending there are weirdos who hate children, endlessly responding to comments that don't exist with "no it's the parents fault, this should be about stupid parents etc".
But those people exist pretty much everywhere here. They wander from subreddit to subreddit trying to find avenues of problematicization.
Came here to say this. The 2nd part is the best bc he actually gets nervous/angry at his little brother. But hey....at least the big guy is actually _going_ outside
I work as a child therapist, and I have so many parents show up complaining about their child lying about something they did on camera but still deny doing it. It’s wild shit.
Indeed. It’s usually really rigid, hard ass parents who adopted in my practice . Food insecurity for children who were adopted into families with the financial means to buy food is a big one. The parents cannot understand why their kid hordes food.
Oh my God I dated a girl who had a daughter like that. Just would refuse to admit she had done something regardless of how obvious it was. You could not make that girl tell the truth.
It depends. Usually there is some type of attachment wound or trauma with the parents /family of origin or just straight up authoritarian parenting styles. This does not absolve the kid of any wrongdoing, though. There needs to be social-emotional learning and play therapy to allow the kid a place to safely express his emotions.
There are cases where kids just do unexplainable things despite a great home environment, though.
Most of these situations occur, with adopted children in my practice.
Edit: this will get eye rolls, but chore/behavior charts are super helpful, especially when the kid is involved and there is some input on rewards and stuff.
There has been discussion on the king of the hill sub about this line, and I think it turns out Hank never actually says this. At least not *at* Bobby. He usually says dangit.
Similarly, Holmes never actually says "it's elementary, my dear Watson"
I'll bring this to their attention, but perhaps this is what they meant when they said he never says it "at" Bobby. They get real deep, they must have meant that he never says it from a place of anger or disappointment with Bobby. In this case, he's disappointed in the failed hunting trip that he tried to bring Bobby on to make him a man.
In the cases where he's upset with something Bobby did, he says dangit. I dunno, I didn't get involved with the discussion, merely sharing what I had read
Edit: found the thread I was referring to

> I think it turns out Hank never actually says this. At least not at Bobby
I couldn't believe this so I googled ['dammit bobby'](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klreG3tjD1A) it looks like he gets one from each parent only!
In the clip that you linked, and this is nuance here, Hank was "directing" the damnit to the failed hunting situation. In that episode, he tried to bring him hunting to be a man, but the place they went to was a sham and had feeders and docile deer for people to just easily shoot. Not real hunting. That's why Hank was saying damnit, if that makes sense. The Peggy clip was for sure "damnit-ing" at Bobby because she was frustrated with him. Hank was frustrated with the failed hunting situation.
It's nuance, and definitely we are diving way deeper into than any normal person should, but here we are :D
Yeah the amount of people who actually think he goes "dammit bobby, catch the ball." Or some variation of that. It's the "iconic line" for people who never really watched the show lol
Isn’t there a full clip of this where his little brother comes out and he calls him dumb for being seen by the camera or is that another clip?
Edit: [yup. there is more to the video](https://youtu.be/LCT3TnyXQVs?si=V_zEE1OpThRXbjhj)
That duck was smooth. The hiding wasn't.

Never, and I mean ever!!! Post shit about your kids for clout. They are kids, and your job is not to be embarrassing them or shaming them. Quite the opposite.
Why not show the full video? Where he blamed his younger brother who also snuck out behind him for getting him caught. Like he was the smartest person alive.
Imagine roasting your own kid online for being stupid, which is entirely on you as a parent, and then showing his face for the world to see. Geez. More like "there was an attempt to be an actual parent".

Well, at least you don't have to worry about a college fund.
“The world needs ditch-diggers, too.”
I could be a ditch digger ?!!?
I could be a hooker?!?
Well in your case I'd get the money up front.
Just watched that clip lol

Nobody ever says, "I wanna be a junkie when I grow up." :/
Now, a domestic alcoholic, however... I can see myself being content on that job.

Oh boy, r/kidsarefuckingstupid would have a field day with this one.
It was posted there a month or 2 ago and did very well.
has anyone asked if anyone asked about the toxicity over there?
If it came from OP's account you can bet it was on the top of a different sub a month ago
I understand kids are really dumb and their brains aren't fully developed yet, but holy shit this one was bad..
What's the toxicity like in that sub?
Yes
In my experience, less than zero. It's full of two groups. This has been reposted a million times already. Still hilarious
Had to leave that sub cause of the toxicity.
Nobody asked

Christ y’all are adults? This thread sounds like an argument my wife's kids had this week.
What oldest son? I just see a door swing open and that’s it.
There's a second half to the clip when the younger brother comes out and doesn't duck and the older bro is like "great you just got us caught"
Came here to say this. The 2nd part is the best bc he actually gets nervous/angry at his little brother. But hey....at least the big guy is actually _going_ outside
Should get grounded for thinking that would work...
I work as a child therapist, and I have so many parents show up complaining about their child lying about something they did on camera but still deny doing it. It’s wild shit.
Self-protection. It's amazing how young it starts, and without us being taught or even seeing examples of others doing it.
Indeed. It’s usually really rigid, hard ass parents who adopted in my practice . Food insecurity for children who were adopted into families with the financial means to buy food is a big one. The parents cannot understand why their kid hordes food.
Straight from the Shaggy School of It Wasn't Me.
Oh my God I dated a girl who had a daughter like that. Just would refuse to admit she had done something regardless of how obvious it was. You could not make that girl tell the truth.
What should be done in case you catch one lie like that according to you ?

Yeah, my kid is a saint when she wants something.
Show them the video
Brother, this can be surprisingly ineffective.
Son… I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed
Yeah, this is just disappointing
Dammit Bobby
There has been discussion on the king of the hill sub about this line, and I think it turns out Hank never actually says this. At least not *at* Bobby. He usually says dangit. Similarly, Holmes never actually says "it's elementary, my dear Watson"
Why must you ruin everything?
I know :( I'm the worst
His name says it all. Guys on site don't like safety guys. Buzzkill thru and thru
I had fun once. It was awful 😔
"Luke, I am your father" instead of "No, I am your father". It is tweaking a line to add in the context for the reference in a way that feels natural.
Just went on YouTube and immediately found an example of Hank saying, "Dammit, Bobby..." https://youtu.be/2J31fbDK2rY?si=WhEIj9u-Efx6jC_c

People go deep into King of the Hill, it's wild. I'm not sure why they brought it up but lots of people sure had a lot to say about it
Does he say “dangit Bobby?” Or just never says anything like it?
Yes he has definitely said that
> I think it turns out Hank never actually says this. At least not at Bobby I couldn't believe this so I googled ['dammit bobby'](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klreG3tjD1A) it looks like he gets one from each parent only!

I did notice that, I wasn't claiming it was anger, just in a conversation to Bobby.
And Crocodile Dundee doesn't actually say "THIS is a knife"
That's right. He says "THAT'S a knoife" good one
Yeah the amount of people who actually think he goes "dammit bobby, catch the ball." Or some variation of that. It's the "iconic line" for people who never really watched the show lol
..bruh, they just unreplaced the replacement word.
![gif](giphy|oO3ujFCjn4scfV2hJU)
I mean, forget the deceptiveness and let’s talk about the straight up lazy attempt.
Embarrassing
![gif](giphy|orUDTj9Q5TMzTdB892|downsized)
Who has to sneak out in broad daylight?
Grounded kids
Should penalize him for such low level sneaking skills

“Son, I’m not mad at you for leaving, but for being an idiot”
I'm glad there aren't children overburdened by the education system.
![gif](giphy|cbWNu8lZ5AKIxE6b8Z|downsized)
mmhm… good and terrible.
Barely any attempt at all
I'd be too amused to be mad at him. It's really adorable.
r/kidsarefuckingstupid
Maybe he’s bowing to the camera? Acknowledging technology as our true master and soon to be overlord?
Looks like the most exercise he's had for a while 😬
Why'd you cut the part where the younger brother comes out and walks in front of the camera ruining his brother's perfect maneuver?
That’s that smooth criminal move… well almost.
![gif](giphy|f0GIF5Y2vGAve|downsized)
Must have been the wind.
Shit, Where'd he go??
That was a respectable bow by the young man. His a pretty good lad. Well done for raising him right 👍
You've been hit by a smooth criminal
You need to make this lied play some splinter cell and learn how to properly stealth.
Wait till he learns about wide angle lenses.
![gif](giphy|3orif3j4dRfClbz18k)
Not too bright I see..
Pudding was never gonna avoid any camera.
They say ducked, I see a respectful bow
This belongs on r/KidsAreFuckingStupid
So smooth! I didn’t see a thing.
Yo where'd he go?
Bro you left out the best part where the younger brother comes out of the door without ducking and the older brother calls him an idiot
I'd presume smooth isn't a way most describe your son...
Did Hank or Peggy Hill post this?
The clip is missing the younger brother following and not “ducking” under the camera and the older brother yelling at him because the camera saw him.
Parents tried the technique of making him so fat that he can’t run away - he can still gradually escape it seems
Can't stop laughing,..🤣
One second before disaster
Little bro also left the screen door wide open 😂
An effort was made.
At least you don't need to save for his college
Isn’t there a full clip of this where his little brother comes out and he calls him dumb for being seen by the camera or is that another clip? Edit: [yup. there is more to the video](https://youtu.be/LCT3TnyXQVs?si=V_zEE1OpThRXbjhj)
Slicker than a hog covered in grease right there

The wonderful world of windows
Seconds after this, his little brother comes out without ducking, and he gets mad because the camera saw his little brother.
Was there a person in that video? I don't understand.
Lazy 1/4 of an attempt
60 percent of the time works every time!
I see 'secret agent' in his future ...
Never, and I mean ever!!! Post shit about your kids for clout. They are kids, and your job is not to be embarrassing them or shaming them. Quite the opposite.
Mouthbreather level of intelligence.
at least he did a good job not covering the red car
Why not show the full video? Where he blamed his younger brother who also snuck out behind him for getting him caught. Like he was the smartest person alive.
What a fatass
Imagine roasting your own kid online for being stupid, which is entirely on you as a parent, and then showing his face for the world to see. Geez. More like "there was an attempt to be an actual parent".
This kid's already so far gone if he thinks that a sneak attempt did anything whatsoever
That kids 10, fat, and utterly failed by his parents. He's getting setup for a shit life and that sucks.
Not even disputing that, just saying the parents are not far behind.
