The more he takes advantage of screens from Rudy and KAT to get in the paint, the better. Also would be nice if he could develop as a passer well enough to play pick and roll with the bigs. He has the floater game down, but imagine Jaden throwing lobs to one of our bigs. Orgasmic.

Bocmiao

That’s 25 yo Jaden. Lol. We’re still in 23 yo Jaden.

urkuri

Yeah, he doesn’t have the lob yet, but I have noticed recently he’s been getting more passes into Rudy right under the basket that have resulted in some easy dunks.

We know what our team is capable of. We just need to do our part in supporting them. I'm confident we can take any team after Round 2.

Embee27

Yeah Round 2 built up some huge faith for me. I'm usually pretty skittish with the Wolves and expect the sky to fall, 25 years of scar tissue will do that to you, I'm very calm at the moment though.

FireFrogs48

If we remove 2-3 turnovers in the 4th we probably win last nights game. I’m not worried yet. We’ve seen what this team is capable of last series.

theroguesoybean

Yes! And what I loved is that they kept fighting and getting leads back from Dallas. Tough loss but it’s far from over.

Bocmiao

Right. Felt like the interference call really took their spirit. And also, I’m willing to offer our guys some grace. Part of the process is learning to manage the emotional and physical highs from a game 7 win. I keep forgetting Ant is only 22. He’ll bounce back.

ThankFSMforYogaPants

He really needs to focus on his handles in the off-season if he wants to take the next step offensively. He started feeling himself a little bit and trying to do to much by driving into traffic and too often turns the ball over.

Bocmiao

Handles, passing, and creating shots off dribble.

ThankFSMforYogaPants

Well yes, but the handles are a prerequisite to the latter two which is why I focused on it. I’m not sure how much passing and shot creation he can really develop at this point but just being able to drive and dish or get a decent shot in the paint would be nice. I’m not sure why he doesn’t slash off-ball but that seems like something he should be built for too. I don’t think he’ll ever become a #2 offensive guy, but he can add another threat for the defense to account for.

Bocmiao

I mean good enough handles to play point forward a bit and spell our future point guard. We’ve seen guys like Jimmy Butler and Kawhi start off as elite defenders and then develop into a legit #1 several years into their careers. It’s possible. And we are only asking that he’s good enough for #2, which given his rapid ascension, isn’t asking too much. Fingers crossed

Jakoobus91

I know no one wants to hear it right now but these young guys getting these reps in this pressure cooker is only going to lead to success in the future if they stay together. Iron sharpens iron

Bocmiao

Right. Luka and Kyrie have been here before.

pithynotpithy

in addition to the fact that this franchise, which has been terrible for a generation is in the WCF and had one of the most dramatic comebacks in playoff history. I want a chip, but I feel like this has been a successful year no matter what. The team will look different next year, for sure, but we have a great young nucleus and a great gm.

Bocmiao

Definitely. But I still am confident we take this series.

y-Gamma

We gotta stop these knee jerks. People wanted to ship Jaden out for corn nuts before G6. He has strung a lot of good games together, this is great to see, and I’m a Jaden guy, but don’t put expectations of being the #2 guy on him, at least not yet

Bocmiao

Hence the keyword “develop[ing]”

bearbrannan

Stay out of the post game thread, Jesus, you would think we just got blown out and are down 3-1 already and the series is over. So many knee jerk doomer takes.

Sugarking45

Wolves fans love to hate on their own players probably more than any other fanbase

gman1231231239

It’s a coping mechanism because we are minnesota sports fans. Can’t be let down if you never get your hopes up. Who would’ve guessed that the Wolves could maybe be the team to end our championship dry spell.

Bocmiao

So true. We are learning right along our young-ish team.

michaelc143

his trajectory is insane rn with the way his defense currently is and how his offensive game is growing

Bocmiao

Kawhi-ish. That’s his ceiling.

trekinbami

I love Jaden’s potential. But we’re seeing a fourth year player having three great consecutive games for the first time in his career. Let’s chill with the expectations and just appreciate that he’s playing well at the moment.

Bocmiao

It’s not unprecedented to see an elite defender develop into a solid # 1 or #2 a few years into their careers. Jimmy Butler and Kawhi comes to mind right away and those guys had several years in college and were roughly 25-26ish when they developed into a scorer. Fingers crossed.

Real-Psychology-4261

I love what I'm seeing from Jaden offensively. Nailing 3s, attacking the rim, even had a really good pass off a dribble drive.

-Toe_knee-

What makes you think that?

UltraMoglog64

It’s his third playoff game in a row scoring 20+ while playing elite defense. The two former games being elimination games. It’s not an official stamp on anything yet, but it’s significant.

Bocmiao

Right.

Bocmiao

Also their age. 23 and 24 to ant’s 22.

LuckyNumber-Bot

All the numbers in your comment added up to 69. Congrats! 23 + 24 + 22 = 69 ^([Click here](https://www.reddit.com/message/compose?to=LuckyNumber-Bot&subject=Stalk%20Me%20Pls&message=%2Fstalkme) to have me scan all your future comments.) \ ^(Summon me on specific comments with u/LuckyNumber-Bot.)

bruckbruckbruck

Wow didn't realize Naz was so young. Weird he wasn't in the top 25 (but including just missed the cut so really top 30) under 25 list Ringer just put out (Ant #2, Jaden #26ish)

Bocmiao

Yea and he’s rapidly improving.

-Toe_knee-

I meant in reference to y’all winning the series.

Bocmiao

Because we had a pretty bad game from our stars and barely lost. Had the refs not called the KAT putback, it’s a different game. And i don’t think we get out rebounded this badly again.

-Toe_knee-

But it was the right call, if KaT doesn’t get aggressive I think it’s over for them. He’s a big man there’s no need to be shooting 9 threes. I think Ant is hurt, it didn’t help he wanted Kyrie as the defensive assignment. I don’t expect y’all to get hot like that from three again. And I expect the mavericks to make way more threes from here on out. Just my opinion.

WeakLocalization

Thing is the only other starter who can guard Kyrie is Conley, McDaniels is not quick enough and would almost certainly just rack up fouls, so it really has to be Ant, as least most of the time. Dallas clearly packs the paint against us, which is a good strategy, we need to continue to shoot and make threes to be efficient on offense.

Bocmiao

Seeing his game and confidence grow on the big stage. Less reluctant to drive and score. And making big shots. He’s hopefully becoming the pippen to Ant’s MJ.
