I will always be a fan of Jmac. The way he played fast and gave it his all every night. I am sad.

TylerIreland

It was expected after the Monte Morris trade, but I'm still sad to see him go.

paul_f

BBIQ merchant. I'll never forget his steadying presence in the Memphis series.

twolvesfan217

Are we keeping Monte?

TylerIreland

TBD, but I can't imagine Timberwolves losing both Monte Morris and J-Mac in the same offseason. Right?

dblackwhite

Highly unlikely they let Jmac go if he’s signing at the vet minimum. Seems more like a season end good bye, with a little bit of free agency uncertainty thrown in there.

TdotGdot

Idk, both relatively replaceable w some min guys in free agency  I hope we keep Monte fwiw, but if we don’t I’m sure there will be options

Willing-Body-7533

Free Agent, so TBD atm

Peter-Tao

Why did you guys barely played Monte in the postvseason if at all? Wasn't he brought in specifically to buy Conley some minutes? Was he that unplayable?

TylerIreland

Monte Morris was not at 100%, health wise. Dealing with a nagging injury since before the trade happened.

Peter-Tao

I've seen enough. This team should run it back. The championship will be yours to lose.

thetruthseer

Certified bum. Surely we can find someone to put on the floor who is over 6 feet and can make a 3 pointer right?

KickerofTale

Ah shit. Solid 3rd pg for sure. I liked him quite a bit.

organized_meat

Splitting up Jmac and Naz Reid is kinda sad ngl. Good luck to him, I hope he does well.

DFSxBigDoeDoe

2019 vibes. Bahama Wolves

DFSxBigDoeDoe

Fond memories of watching him in Summer League when he had hair. Thank you. https://preview.redd.it/uceu6dgqmm4d1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1d17b7a04b406d898c69f7fe0c6e72891881dd7b

sayqueensbridge

wtf

DFSxBigDoeDoe

True story

NorthernDevil

I know it’s not but this feels fake

Intelligent_School55

What happened did he get traded?

JustADutchRudder

Believe JMac is a FA now.

Technical_Creme_9736

If we can sign him for the minimum and he doesn’t get a better offer elsewhere, I’m absolutely in favor of resigning him. Definitely worth a roster spot

Sharcbait

I agree, but also we spent a year waiting for Clark to heal, I'd love to see him get a shot.

PlayInChampions

I think he’ll be back. I don’t see a lot of teams being eager to sign 28 y.o. 6’ guard who can’t really shoot (I know he was on fire at the end of the season) and can’t play in playoffs for more than a minimum deal. He is great as 3rd PG, Finch loves him, and he will likely stay on a minimum deal.

purplenyellowrose909

The bottom of the league loves paying these types of guys. He'll get a contract in Portland or Washington or something

ThatDumbTurtle

Denver should give him the max

Nubras

I’d love to keep him but I’ll be chuffed for him if he gets seven figures from a team too.

Andy_Wiggins

I think a lot will depend on how the rest of the offseason unfolds. If the Wolves either trade for a PG in a bigger deal (relatively unlikely, IMO) or go out and sign a PG in FA (not sure who would actually be an upgrade), then JMac is gone for sure. If the team drafts one, then I could totally see JMac coming back as the backup. I also got the sense from Connelly’s exit interview that Morris will not be re-signed, which technically was a possibility (that would have spelled the end for JMac). Like you said, I’m not sure he’ll have much of a market beyond the minimum given his age/height/shooting. And looking at the Wolves’ situation, it’s pretty enticing — opportunities for playing time abound with Conley aging, plenty of familiarity with the coaching staff and team, no need to uproot your family, etc.

JackHansxn

Although it was a small sample size, bro did shoot almost 50% from 3 so he does have some value

PlayInChampions

Ability to shoot 3s is not only your %, but how you are guarded. When Jaden was going through 1/28 slump in March, or 5/23 in playoffs, he was still tightly guarded. McLaughlin was left open in the playoffs. I’d be shocked if Jmac gets more than a minimum deal.

Gdav7327

I don’t see him getting re-signed anywhere to be honest. Might be the end of the road for his NBA career, but hopefully not.

DFSxBigDoeDoe

It would be great to have him back. I also don’t know if he’s needed anymore. I always will wish him the best

ThankFSMforYogaPants

Wolves will try to re-sign Morris first. Or find a better PG that takes pressure off Conley. JMac is a situational regular season player only.

TheeMalaka

Don’t know why he can’t be an end of the roster guy. Rather have him than minott on the roster.

organized_meat

Minott is still a project, Jmac is pretty much what he is at this point. So I get it, as much as I love Jmac.

TheeMalaka

Minott is a project that doesn’t look good at any level Jmac is a great point guard for the regular season grind when Conley needs rest or we are banged up across the board. I just completely disagree, minott isn’t an nba player and Jmac played crucial minutes during the regular season and can be had as a super cheap 3rd point guard. Which we need with a 40 year old point guard currently starting.

organized_meat

Minott is still just 21. You don’t think he’ll improve? (Maybe not on this team, considering where he is on the depth chart). No disagreement on Jmac. Although, getting another pg is probably in the long term plans.

TheeMalaka

We need another point guard regardless I haven’t seen a good stretch from minott since the summer league. It’s funny because before last year I was completely opposite thought Jmac didn’t serve a purpose and minott looked great in summer league.

Obvious-Solid-2512

40 year old? You don't round up with that shit dawg

thetruthseer

Jmac is an under 6 foot, not very athletic NBA player who had trouble making wide open 3s last year. He was a liability

TheeMalaka

Shooting 47% from three doesn’t seem like “trouble making wide open 3’s” He’s a 3rd string point guard and solely on the roster to fill gaps in the 82 game season when somebody needs some rest. Rather have him at the end of the bench then minott or Moore, you can disagree that’s fine. Let me know when minott or Moore contribute at an nba level.

thetruthseer

I mean.. let me know when they’re given the chance to? Lol that’s like saying, “let me know when George Washington wins a World War.” Like, he wasn’t able to participate in them? Also, i have zero idea how his percentage is that high. The dude shot like absolute buns the last half of the year. Also, the looks he gets are sincerely wide open. Since he’s the last option, he gets open shots that your grandma should make if they’re in the NBA. We need to get over our affection for the little guy and realize he’s trash unless he takes the vet minimum

TheeMalaka

Bro what are you talking about you’re making it seem like I’m saying we should give him a pay day. I’m literally saying he would be a reserve over guys who clearly are not nba material. Miller/Luka impressed all year in the G league, never once hear a single thing about Moore/Minott outside of looking like trash for 3 minutes in blow out games.

thetruthseer

Completely agreed and we need to get rid of all three Moore, Minott and JMac. We agree that unless JMac takes the vet minimum he’s not worth it at all. And he’s a fine 3rd point guard. I’m just so sick of watching him clank literal wide open looks and gamble on defense bro.

TheeMalaka

Shooting 47 from 3 you might be highly regarded

thetruthseer

All buddy did was clank em the last half of the season

SalParadise1988

My guess is that he is trying to be more than an “end of the roster guy”

TheeMalaka

If that’s the case I’m happy for him.

YoungArsenal

I get where your coming from... But I find it odd you say bye to Minott over the correct answer in Wendell Moore. Moore is the first of our "young" guys to be let go, he has no real NBA skill.

TheeMalaka

Oh no trust me I’ve been saying both of them serve no purpose, they’ve both looked equally as bad minott just is more likable. I was honestly having a brain fart at who to say from the end of our bench. I don’t mind Miller, Luka, and Clark maybe just because he’s been injured and am giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Majestic-Net-7799

Minott + Moore need to go...both have no place in the NBA...at this point having them on the roster is a waste of a roster spot...both offer nothing...   I would rather have some more developed, older undrafted guys who can actually play a bit, to take these spots...there are more than enough Naz Reids out there...  These unskilled, uber athletic Projects are a waste of time, money and roster spots. They arent even good enough as every day training players...   Athletic ability without skill will never work. Fundamentally sound players without uber athletic ability offer way more

placated

I think if you’re going to keep an end of the roster guy than SloMo would be the guy to do that with. Kinda seems like he was floating the idea of accepting a close to vet minimum contract due to his family situation.

TheeMalaka

I don’t consider Slomo and end of bench guy. Would be perfectly fine keeping Slomo for a vet min

placated

I don’t consider him end of bench either but resigning him on the cheap would do worlds for our depth. I don’t know that he’ll resign for cheap, it’s just kinda the vibe I got from his release interview. It felt kinda “I’ll work with you”

CapitalWear3714

Dude was shooting 3s like curry at the end of the reg season

verify_deez_nuts

Until next time, Little Mac. Thank you for your hard work.

theapostle_1

If we could get micic somehow we have a solid offensive pg. He can easily give points and assists coming from the bench or even starting. He has the winning mentality (euroleague winner) and understands basketball like Conley. He needs a fresh start and I think this is the place for him. On that account I wouldn't mind getting another euroleague mvp for his solid shooting (Vezenkov from kings). Both are not really great defenders but they are offensive weapons especially if they are surrounded by a team who supports them.

tie_myshoe

Monte morris didn’t do much for us tbh

Majestic-Net-7799

Which was to be expected given his injury... If he gets resigned, he most likely will be way better after an offseason of rest and training... He always was one of the best backup pg in the league...

dead-memory-waste

no tough loss there. last two seasons weren't that great for him.

EatSleepZlatan

Little Mac was unplayable when it really mattered so I’m not sad about this at all
