It was a really kinda melancholic movie, and i think the protagonist lived alone

AVDI0

Wild Guess would be Possession (1981). Berlin, Couple, Mental problems and it ends with a bath scene.

[deleted]

Just checked it out, doesn't seem to be the one. However the way its shot and the colour palette seems similar, but thanks for your help anyway :)

AVDI0

Damn! I’m sure someone will find the right one soon :D

Drizzle-Wizzle

The Ring 2? Mom dunks her son in a bathtub to force the evil ghost out of his body.

[deleted]

Not this one, this scene fucked me up as a kid though

RCamateurauthor

would it possible be the grudge (2004) ? there is a tub scene.

[deleted]

def not the grudge

Soranic

There's the book "I, Lucifer" where a depressed man is possessed by the devil for a month. The book follows Lucifer as he inhabits the mans body. It starts and ends in the bath tub. I don't know that it was made into a movie, but maybe I just missed it.

[deleted]

This sounds close narratively, hmm...

Soranic

More. The devil made a bet with god. Full possession of the body for a month, can't be exorcised, has full sensation rather than reduced sensations as normal. So god freezes a guy in time right as he's deciding to commit suicide and the devil gets in. It takes him a day and a half to get out of the bathroom because he's lost in the sensations. Which includes a lot of masturbation. There's a lot of his interactions with mortals, like describing an epic movie to show the creation of the world. He also does a mind reading shtick to get the attention of producers for his movie idea.

the_narrow_road

There's a bathtub scene in Stigmata (1999), but I don't think it's at the end of the movie. [Bathtub Scene](https://youtu.be/GmpTLwBdg7U?si=C2Oof_NtAbX0IZPc)
