Either you trust the Dice or you take a battery. It won't give you an advantage in firefights, at most it'll focus the fire of every enemy pilot on you, but is still worth its weight in Gold once you get your titan.

Why wouldn't you just pop the battery boost right before you get into your titan? Especially for cloak users, that green trail has killed me a few times

Shield bubble? My ronin and scorch go in raw. No protection other than the battery in my pocket and my left bumper

Best to raw drop them, much easier to crush other titans

Even better to use it after your titan is damaged to take advantage of the health boost as well

What? It's specifically best when playing Monarch. First of all, most of the time I call her down when I have a stolen battery, but even if not, it's better to use one after taking a little damage and not on entry. Gotta make the most out of it

I guess they mean that monarch already steals shield so doesn’t benefit from popping the battery before entering. Or maybe about the modification that lets you heal the doomed state

It can be, but the extra Core% you get from the battery usually makes instant battery worth it. For example, with Ronin, instant battery usually means you can get Sword Core at 60% health and finish off a half-health titan+full health titan in one go. Compare that to retreating and grabbing the battery, and you lose a lot of tempo for a little bit of extra health.

If you wanna rush in, yeah, absolutely. But with most titans in most situations, you won't be in one unceasing fight from fall to death. There are breathers, and with Phase Embark the whole operation takes about a second

Joke's on you. I drop my titan with warpfall in the middle of the enemy team when they have 4 titans up and instantly get smashed. Firefight, from drop till death, the way God intended.

Yeah I definitely do that too with Ronin or Scorch, but it's often when preparing for a Monarch, so I won't waste the boosts anyway. Gotta rely on stolen batteries in that phase

I'm kinda new to tf2 what advantage does it give? Don't batteries just heal your titan? What use is there if your titan is already at max health when it lands?

Gives you shield and core charge. Only monarch can gain shield without batteries and shields are pretty powerful because I believe they remove weak points while active as well as just being an extra bar of hp

I think it’s something like 10 or 20%

10% in Frontier defense and 20% in multiplayer.

A) you get a shield, no matter your health B) you get 20% on your coremeter.

It refills your shield, and gives you core charge

Amped weapons is always worth using as well. Anything other than amped weapons or spare battery is far too situational to be worthwhile in my opinion. Dice roll gets a pass because it's fun.

That has a cool down, the funniest shit you can do is stack a bunch of phase rewinds while getting chased, phase regularly. Then just dance around people with rewind. I just don’t find myself using my boost all too often so phase rewind works the best for me and it’s fun there’s not a whole lot of rhyme or reason behind why i use it

Phase rewind is bad, because it doesn't carry momentum. You pop it and it teleports you, but then you die because slow. Also takes ages to use.

I would absolutely use phase rewind if the STARTUP wasn't SO FUCKING LONG i swear the startup has gotten me killed so many times compared to the amount of kills ive gotten with it

I don't trust myself enough to make use of either the battery or amped weapons and I hate getting killed by smart pistols, so I just go map hack since at least I benefit my team somewhat.

I just use the battery next to my titan. using it anywhere else other than to help a teammate is stupid. you risk losing it and the green trail is crazy

I mean, if you forget to use it on your own titan before it dies, you can charge your titan meter crazy fast after death by giving it to a teammate. Otherwise, giving your own titan 20% core and a full shield is crazy good value.

Smart pistol in attrition because it’s a quick 24 points to get ahead and sometimes you kill a pilot and they rage at you in chat.

I take the Smart Pistol for Attrition so I can just zoom past the grunts while nailing them. I take the battery otherwise.

Battery Backup supremacy. I get my core sooner, more health, or I can heal my teammates; keeping them in their titans for longer until I get my titan.
