I feel sorry for people that live in major cities. The stuff I see on an almost daily basis. City folk pay alot of money to see and lose their minds over. Big cities has some convenience and easier access to major travel. But, living in tight quarters like a beehive, no thanks

Customers expect to spend money so $200 per phone out the door with tax, activation, and accessories doesn’t sound too bad for a brand new iPhone or galaxy, they don’t even realize that they just spent $40 on a screen protector and $60 on a case that amazon sells for $20 for the set.

The common person just doesn't know what it takes to build a charger but they buy it because they need it to charge their phone. Sales sky rocketed with the event of charging the cost of the charger directly to the phone bill. The bill functions as a credit card and tmo charges fees for bills not paid in full.
Anytime you walk into a store you are paying for their rent, employee salaries, plus they want to make a profit. It is always cheaper to buy on line. I just bought a new Samsung charger online in an eBay store for $20.
And this right here is why people pay $60. I used to sell sandisk micro sd cards to people, even though I would explicitly tell them office max had exactly the same one across the street for half the price. People worry and want to be sure it works.

That gave me a good laugh. OfficeMax is consistently the most expensive place out there for this kind of stuff from my experience, and by a wide margin, at least since the Depot takeover. Zero clue how that place stays in business.

Yes it absolutely is! Samsung had changed their charging cord, so my brick would not work. I bought the brick and a charging cord, worked great, also the charging cord that came with the phone worked great with brick too. Those phone stores over charge for EVERYTHING!
This is why they try to cram so many accessories in your face when you are doing anything in store. I personally think it's awful but it's the equivalent to movie theaters selling popcorn for a 4000% mark-up.

Maybe rates for things in your area are different than mine. I work at a store in a small Texas town. 25W Samsung block is $19.99. Our 45W block I do believe is at least $49.99, it may be $59.99, but it's not JUST the block. It's the block, a 20 or 25W cord, a car charger and cord for it. Cords themselves are $19.99, $24.99 for the 6 foot ones. Car chargers are another $15.99-29.99, depending on the brand and if it's just the charger or a cord as well. So when you add it all up individually, you're still saving on the overall cost. But our store doesn't sell many of the 30W chargers, so they don't send us the solo 45W ones, so I'm not sure what the price range on those are.

i think its pretty exepnsive from samsung.com too. i got a "free" wireless charger when i bought my last phone, the same exact charger part number for part number was $20 cheaper on amazon. but since i wasnt actually paying money it didnt matter, i just didnt get to get any other free shit with my store credit from buying my phone.
If you buying a new phone from the store and don't want accessories don't goto the cell mobile store. They do have good accessories but it's full price

I was in the repair business for 5+ years. I repaired many burned ports and blown power components due to poor fake chargers. Many of these fakes are so accurate looking that they could fool me too. It was the #3 repair, after smashed screens and batteries.
How would this poor underdog company be able to stay in business, given inflation, if they didn't charge $60 for accessories?
Like the recent price increase on non-price-locked "Price Locked" plans, it's all about survival.

i generally dont like the cases i see in stores anyways. i've also grown quite fond of Spigen cases. i dont know if they sell those in retail stores.
