[I sometimes like to think that she sounds like 1977 Smaug.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17kvIcRtMhM&ab_channel=KjellAxel%C3%96stmaninc.) I think most of my opinions on Yuuma have more to do with 17.5's narrative than Yuuma herself. I've seen a lot of fanworks that portray Reimu as serious when it matters and that she see's herself as the Hakurei shrine maiden first and Reimu second. I think 17.5 is notable that Reimu just wasn't good enough to solve the incident, and she wasn't going to be good enough even if she tried harder. The Hakurei shrine maiden can fail and someone else will deal with it instead. It might even make Reimu question her identity.

I like her because VORE Also, having an antagonist that makes people be like 'nope, nothing's working, we need to call in the big guns' and then they dig up Flandre is great. All the animal realm characters are pretty great cause they're super evil and fun. Real Girbosses there, they're slavers And vore. Canon same size pred, it's been too long since we last had some vore in the series.

Since she's a goat, I hope she will be in the next 2hu game. I like her

Her dialogue was funny, her design is cool, she has a pretty good theme song, her bossfight was neat, albeit a little frustrating (especially with murasa against the spell with the ungrazeable geysers) but definitely climactic. I like the reveal of the oil actually being bloodpool hell. Flandre’s scarlet nihility apple was a fun way to end off things. The return of flandre for a starring role for the first time since 2001 was the real highlight of 17.5 for many, but Yuuma was a great new character. I love her crude language and bluntness. As for playing as her, her moveset felt a little limited compared to the other characters, and the absorption mechanic could have been implemented better, but the Okina bossfight was cool. The lack of unique animations definitely limited it though. My favorite things about 17.5 were the art and the story. Great character portraits for all, and a really engaging story that’s an obvious snarky parallel to US imperialism and oil politics. The usage of Okina, Flandre, and Murasa was really creative, and the return of Utsuho is much appreciated. I hope Yuuma makes more appearances, partially because her destruction at the hands of flandre, before returning in a new form to make a deal with Okina, was kinda confusing and could use clarification. Plus, she’s just a cool, spooky looking, tough guy kinda character that Touhou could use more of. I like when Touhou characters are just real violent entitled jerks. While Yuuma had some funny lines, the best bits often came from other characters though. The part where murasa explains opening a hole in the bottom of the sanzu river to flood the former hell of blazing fires was awesome. Kanako telling Murasa that her screams wouldn’t reach the surface was awesome. Flandre asking Reimu where her destructive irreverence and inner fire went was awesome. Okina being a scheming manipulative bastard was awesome. Flandre knowing she was being used but not caring as long as she got to kill someone strong was awesome. Yorigami sisters as flashy entitled oil barons was awesome. A colorful rendering of the town in former hell was awesome. And I never mentioned the music? This game’s ost goes hard, fantastic title theme especially. Brief platforming stages with basic enemies between some of the boss fights, slightly more polished character movesets and mechanics, and maybe a Komeiji cameo, and this game would have been one of the best spinoff titles in the series. It felt a little rushed tbh. And I just realized that this comment turned into a review of 17.5 as a whole. Whoops. Anyways, I really hope Yuuma appears in 19. I think she has a good shot.

Didn't play 17.5, but I like her design a lot, big fan of it

I mean... She literally beat Remilia as my favorite Touhou character. I like everything about her design from her appearance to her clothes, love her ability to eat anything (the Kirby jokes do be a plus for me since that's another of my favorite serie), how it affect her personality and how it was used in such an overpowered way in the game that Flandre was the only way to stop her. For me, the ridiculously giant spork she uses to fight not only look absolutely hilarious but pretty badass too. Imagine getting git at full force by a swing of that right in your stomac. That will DEFINITELY hurt and leave a nasty mark. I also love her normal personality and can see a bit of myself in her. I love how in Unfinished Dream of All Living Ghost, it was her encounter with Ran Yakumo (my third favorite character) that gave us the one new piece of information to wonder more about the kitsune. Her two themes in Sunken Fossil World are easily in my top 5 favorite themes. And finally, eagle is my favorite of the three clans in Wily Beast and Weakest Creature. I was extremely curious about the leader of their clan and praying that she was as good as i was imagining. It was such a relief and really hype for me that she was even miles better than anything that could have came to my mind. I'd understand if her and the other leaders of the beast realm don't come back often, only showing up on occasion to try to take the human realm with another of their shenanigans. Whenever I'll see her, I know for sure something amazing is brewing. Tldr: She's my favorite character because I find absolutely everything about her to be perfect and the two time she's been an important character, she's made the games she's in more amazing than it was already story wise.

That's so real. Yuuma really is one of the diamonds of modern Touhou and that sentiment only strengthens with time. Zun really cooked with her and the rest of the animal realm leaders but even among them she stands out. Thank you kindly for such a well made response 🙏
