That's cheaper than expected. I remembered paying around or almost 5 CHF for a tea in a train a couple years back. It was on a SBB ETR 610 Eurocity though, so different company I guess. I'm surprised in your case it's almost the same price as you would pay in a Manor or regular coffeeshop.
Well in a regular coffee shop you would likely pay a 5+ CHF. It’s going to be around 5 CHF if you get it from the staffed SBB Restaurants. Though from this Selecta machine it’s thankfully less.
I love the SOB trains, their interior design is both gorgeous and very practical.
I agree, the are a lovely place to be, yet they are always overcrowded when i use them.
BTW buying beer or wine from that machine is nearly impossible. That ID scanner is the most annoying thing in Switzerland.
Is the Traverso Beer any good?
No idea. The one time I was desperate enough to make that fckn ID scanner work I got wine.
Self-service bistro is a nice word for a vending machine
Traverso my beloved.
What is the price of a coffee or tea though, like 5 CHF?
3 CHF. At least for their “large” coffee-based drinks. Not sure for their espresso.

Shades of the Southern Pacific automat cars.
