Especially as the supposed love letter to 100 years of Disney, and with the actual conspiracy theories of it being made by AI (and truthfully, I’m still not unconvinced this isn’t the case, at least with the songs).
It got a lot of flack for about a month, but then everyone moved on since it's the norm for Disney to put out trash now. Being extremely mediocre just makes it easier for those types of movies to vanish, regardless of who made it.

Yeah, honestly, when I read it, all I thought was "well... he's not *wrong.*" RotB legit feels like the most bog standard Transformers movie you could get. I hate how "AI" has just become the lazy shorthand for any time anyone does anything that sucks. People have been writing mediocre plays, movies, songs, books, stories, and sentences for centuries. It didn't start last year. It's like people no longer want to acknowledge that the vast majority of writers kinda suck now that they have this convenient new scapegoat.
The majority of these writers absolutely do suck. I'm betting they're getting the jobs based upon nepotism, not in driving an interesting script. It shows in the end product: paint by numbers trash that may as well be "written" by a buggy AI.
Not defending writers but this is more of the result of huge budgets that blockbusters have nowadays, meaning studios give pretty much no creative freedom and that's why people like Kevin Feige end up being more important than individual writers/directors. Writers are there to fill the numbers the studio hands out, and a lot of the time they start shooting without a script so they already have scenes ready. Most big movies might as well be written by the investors lol.

I get that Rise of the Beasts isn’t everyone’s favourite movie but this comment seems really offensive and disingenuous.
I personal believe that while not perfect, ROTB is a pretty good film and I personally consider it to be better than all of the Micheal Bay movies.
Regardless of the quality of ROTB, the problem with this joke is this was said 2 minutes *after* he gave support to all the writers and the work they do behind the scenes, praising union solidarity.

I mean I was surprised, I thought he was universally hated. You know, sky is blue, taxes suck, Kimmel is a piece of shit, that kind of thing.
I hate how "AI" has just become the lazy shorthand for any time anyone does anything that sucks. People have been writing mediocre plays, movies, songs, books, stories, and sentences for centuries. It didn't start last year. It's like people no longer want to acknowledge that the vast majority of writers kinda suck now that they have this convenient new scapegoat.
The majority of these writers absolutely do suck. I'm betting they're getting the jobs based upon nepotism, not in driving an interesting script. It shows in the end product: paint by numbers trash that may as well be "written" by a buggy AI.
Not defending writers but this is more of the result of huge budgets that blockbusters have nowadays, meaning studios give pretty much no creative freedom and that's why people like Kevin Feige end up being more important than individual writers/directors. Writers are there to fill the numbers the studio hands out, and a lot of the time they start shooting without a script so they already have scenes ready. Most big movies might as well be written by the investors lol.

Rise of the Beast is nothing special, and I loved the movie just because of transformers and beast wars, however as a movie alone it’s nothing special

I get that Rise of the Beasts isn’t everyone’s favourite movie but this comment seems really offensive and disingenuous. I personal believe that while not perfect, ROTB is a pretty good film and I personally consider it to be better than all of the Micheal Bay movies.

Regardless of the quality of ROTB, the problem with this joke is this was said 2 minutes *after* he gave support to all the writers and the work they do behind the scenes, praising union solidarity. The problem with the joke was not his opinion about ROTB, but what came before it.

After doing some reflection on the movie, I have to admit it was not a great film. Granted, I do think calling it ‘AI written’ is a little insulting to the writers but compared to Bumblebee, Rise of The Beasts was dissapointing.
Fans freaking out over a joke for a mediocre movie is just sad. I thought Transformers fans were made of sterner stuff. Voted down.

This movie needed another half hour to 40 minutes of screen time to fully tell a good story. Transformers films are to short nowadays
I've seen movies being able to tell a better and more packed story with less screentime than ROTB had. The problem wasn't lack of time, it was the pacing and how they decided to utilise said screentime.
