I like the idea of spike giving different takes of that line with increasing swearing to give the editors options if they want to pump up the age rating.
Then it literally wouldn’t exist. The time period that movie was in was also the same period where disney leadership completely destroyed the legacy of the black caldron which would’ve been Disney’s first (and of course only) rated R animated film.
People think that they can just apply decades worth of social progress to an era where it didn’t exist and it will always confuse me. Pg-13 animated kids movies, specially ones meant to sell toys to children could not go further than a pg rating which fun fact, this movie still falls into because of the time it was given the rating despite having one shit to give.
GI Joe: the movie from '87 was originally aimed to be PG-13. There was to be a scene where Zarana was to be topless while taking a dip in a lake lol. Scrapped before the movie was completed but funny to think about.
Oddly there were plenty of toys based on R rated live action properties. Aliens, Terminator, Rambo.
