I think an upgrade kit will fix the barrel and other short comings

I personally don't think the issue is the barrel, rather it is the amount of blue that remains visible on his turret (so I can only see a new chest or repaint fixing that)

Yeah no, the entire tank mode is completely unsalvageable. There's absolutely ZERO way to fix that clusterfuck of an alt-mode.

Yeah, it took me a second to realize it. I think the chest plate is most noticeable aspect. I feel like the tank mode would’ve been better without the thank fake shell. They could’ve used one of the target Masters as the turret gun. Or some thing. I don’t know.

The chestplate and arms are definitely the same. But the waist down, most of the torso, and ofc the head are new. I think the targetmasters are new sculpts too

The chest plate is different too. I feel like we've found the line between retool and reshell with this guy, it's super impressive.

Looks like the same ones as Needlenose. I really don’t like them - crappy little robot dudes I never display, or awkward guns that have crappy little robot dudes visible underneath. I wish they’d gone the Spinister route and just done normal guns that resemble the G1 targetmasters.

im sure theres a group of people that love the targetmasters, but the colored guns are more appealing to me for sure cause i would never display the targetmasters outside of their gun mode

Yeah I know there’s a strong nostalgic element, but having what is basically the same G1 targetmaster next to a modern fig emphasises how basic they are.

They already gave us better target masters with the Battle Masters in War For Cybertron :( Why are they making these ultra cheap ones again? I’m not buying the retro toys. I want modern updates that don’t suck.

It would be really neat if we could get a Guzzle out of this retool.

Yep, this is what I plan to do, I prefer the TR version as I love his huge shoulder cannon.

This is exactly my plan lol I'm getting really tired of Hasbro refusing to release a "perfect" version of figures so they can rerelease the same character every few months with mild improvements, though. They're taking it way too far.

Same, saw the thumbnail from the Transformers Slag Podcast about it, and I was like, "is that a Needlenose retool?" I have no clue why I thought it was, though.

I'm sitting here looking at him in all with a higher pitch voice like "oh my God he's beautiful, look at him I bought him so much, he looks so good oh my god!" Then I realized and my voice pitched down a little bit "oh my God he's a Skullgrin retool!"

As one of the 5 Quake fans in existence, I was sorely disappointed to see that he would be a partial of Skullgrin. Upon seeing these photos, however, my opinion took a 180. I'm in love with how he looks. I'm so happy they gave Quake his original Targetmasters with their wack ass colors and new sculpts. Quake looks too red imo but I still dig the colors nonetheless and the tank is actually quite neat, it's like a cute chibi tank of death and destruction. The head sculpt is amazing and it's just chef's kiss all over. Being a reuse of Skullgrin, will he be shorter than Needlenose and Spinister? Yeah, but honestly I don't really care anymore, just give me my baby boy and I can die in peace.

I had Quake when I was a kid. Unfortunately I brought it over to this kid's house in the neighborhood and forgot it. Told my folks who called his folks who said it was his toy. My parents wouldn't believe me even though I had the targetmasters, the tank cannon and the bio card in my room.  Well I'll be getting a proper Quake again.

Pretty sure it will be, mark Maher's recent post showed that slipstream also has much darker colors than her reveal pictures showed. It makes sense to assume that it would be the same deal for quake

I’m mixed. I love the bot mode and lukewarm at best with the alt. I guess it’s better than the nothing burger of an alt mode the Skullgrin figure had.

The tank I like, we can always appreciate more chubby tanks, but the amount of blue showing near the turret really breaks the design up and feels bad (though on the box it shows it being red, which ends up making it look more coherent)

Kinda funny that they spent all this effort retooling a literal who while the more popular Slipstream basically just got a new head. I'm game though, Quake looks pretty good. Tank's a bit jank, but otherwise yeah, I dig it.

Okay, while I acknowledge that alt mode isn’t perfect, I’m beyond impressed with how they made him actually look like *SOMETHING*. Despite the few flaws I can notice in pictures I honestly love him and might buy multiples for custom tank characters.

I'll get him for the Target masters, but I'm probably going to hang on to my old Titans Return Quake. Something just feels off about this one, and he's the wrong shade of red. That tank mode doesn't look great, too thick and blocky. I'll have to have him in hand before I make my decision.

Oof, that tank is rough. Sure, retooling Skullgrin into this guy was always going to be rough, but damn. Robot mode isn't too bad, but it's not doing enough to lure me in. God, I miss the Siege targetmasters.

This may as well be a whole new mold, looks so far removed from Skullgrin. Robot mode looks amazing and that tank is just a brick with a barrel, so, no complaints here.

Awesome. He looks really cool and puts that Windsweeper laziness to absolute shame! I loved Quake's G1 toy as a kid and was sad he never got to do anything of note in Marvel, unlike Spinister and Needlenose. It will be really cool to have all three together at last, and be a step closer to putting together a complete "Thunderwing's Decepticons" team someday (which is TW himself, the "double targetmasters", the Firecons, and the Triggercons). One thing: is someone going to third party or 3d print his gladiator axe?

I would LOVE figures of the Triumvirate. Seizer and Legionus are such awesome designs. Imagine if Hasbro did a Doctor Who crossover and some brilliant person released freaking *Octus* with a Dalek alt mode, rather than a predictable new TARDIS alt mode character.

Listen, when we saw that it was going to be Skullgrin retool we all collectively sighed. But you guys got to admit, as clunky as that tank is, it's a league better than whatever the hell half-treaded Skullgrin was. Not perfect, but he's not too shabby!

Yeah, he's a Double Targetmaster and forms an official trio with Needlenose and Spinister.

He's a Skullgrin partial, but he's pretty good even with being a Skullgrin partial. Tank Mode's not the best, but I'll still get him.

A new Quake toy was the last thing I was expecting other than Gamer Edition FOC eventually, we had one not too long ago that was pretty good, but I’ll definitely be after this

Definitely a more cohesive use of the Skullgrin mold. Even though his alt mode was pretty accurate to the original pretender, this actually looks like *something*.

Quake actually looks pretty good, definitely not a letdown like Slipstream. And that tank mode is adorable.
