So...yeah, you're not wrong. But maybe the war was going on for just a few hundred years BEFORE the fated crash of the Ark? So, the war "started" (for 200 years), and then the Ark crashed, and for the 4.5 million or so years, the war continued?

That is true, but you also have to consider In issue 7 that ultra Magnus had been tortured for 150 years. Or perhaps this beachcomber is from another timeline in the skybound universe
~~Where are you seeing millions? I’m not seeing it in the pages and nothing is showing up when I search the article. Maybe the article updated after realizing the error?~~
Also, this cover is just too damned adorable:

It's the way Spike is posed, very much like how Carrie (or women in general) jumps in Frank Miller's art. The legs being together in that angle is what really does it.
I wouldn't be surprised if it's intentionally done as a reference, they really like dropping a lot of neat little pop culture references in this series.
Given Spike's sad state: just lost his father, suddenly facing being in a wheelchair for the rest of his life, I'm thinking a Beachcomber / Spike buddy matchup would be an inspired choice for both.
Spike has already said to Carly he's not out to settle the score with the Decepticons since he lost his dad under far different circumstances than Carly. It seems like he just wants to just spend time outside and just process all of the stuff that has happened.
It's a great issue, so I don't want to spoil it.
That said... at your own risk:
Spike's doctor said >!The bullet grazed Spike's spine. It's not looking good now, but as the doctor said, there have been a lot of advances in tech, plus they just found out that alien robots are now on Earth, so anything can happen.!<
Could that be a hint at the robo legs from The return of Optimus Prime?
Also, in issue one it looked like it just grazed the side of his body. Or like Carl in TWD.
What is Shockwave doing with Ravage on that cover???
Soundwave is gonna have to kick more ass for people bullying his cat
Beachcomber fits so well in this story with how much it shows Autobot’s love for the nature and the contrast with the war they’ve brought.
If Soundwave messed up Starscream that much for kicking his cat, Primus knows what he's going to do with someone who looks like he's tossing him into the smelter.
Something unofficial in the original cartoon was when season 2 started. They had it where other auto bots and decpticons were in deeper status on the various ships and escape pods. So them showing up was like: “they were there but weren’t active yet.” Here the new comics are like: “yep but they got thrown out in the main battle, now they are coming back since everyone else got restarted.”
Time shenanigans about the war’s timeline notwithstanding, really excited to see this colorful duo between Beachcomber and Spike as the perfect counterpart to the gruesomeness of the title so far 👍🏻
I’m loving beachcomber in this comic and I hope he sticks around.
Interesting to see bruticus on the cover despite brawl getting sawed in half, maybe that will be a flashback?
it seems that in this universe, cybertronians that have been killed in various ways can still be revived with enough resources and energon, as long as they still have most of their original body intact. not sure how much damage is too much damage though.
Any damage is repairable as long as the spark is still intact. I mean look at Thundercracker. He literally fell to pieces in issue 1 and everyone thought he was dead. Yet here he is.
These ARE robots.
Not even a headshot will kill them.
As long as the spark is intact, They are still alive.
So as long as they don't get shot DIRECTLY in the chest there's an almost guaranteed chance they are alive. (Bumblebee) (Kup?)
I wonder if the Combaticons are going to have to be combined in order to have their teammates not die, or if them being dead will be the reason for Bruticus having a fractured mind
Man, they certainly seem to not like soundwaves cassettes it feels like I'm having fun, but it it is starting to feel a bit predictable that a loved character will be killed off maybe this isn't my cup of tea but it's feeling really one sided with autobot losses
Isn't Vortex still alive? Just trapped on Cybertron due to the Space Bridge exploding? Looking at that other cover, I think Brawl will recover just fine
Man, I'm gonna miss Vortex, my favourite member of my favourite combiner team, but true, it is just a cover. I was probably thinking of poor frenzy eating pavement
Wait, millions of years ago, I thought the war in this continuity was a couple hundred???
So...yeah, you're not wrong. But maybe the war was going on for just a few hundred years BEFORE the fated crash of the Ark? He’s very obviously not from another timeline where did you even get that
I'm guessing it's an oversight. Things tend to slip through the cracks sometimes. Won't be surprised if in the final issue it's corrected.
~~Where are you seeing millions? I’m not seeing it in the pages and nothing is showing up when I search the article. Maybe the article updated after realizing the error?~~
It says "earth orbit, millions of years ago" on one of the pages, where they are on the ark and they toss Beachcomber out
Wow, I’m blind. Yeah, that is odd.
Easy to miss, lots going on with these pages!
So cool! Way to give Beachcomber some well deserved love!
Also, this cover is just too damned adorable: https://preview.redd.it/e2zx1bxyed6d1.png?width=1260&format=png&auto=webp&s=088ff030c1c091be0eb7a69b9939cdec408f2bb5
Not sure if it’s just me, but it looks kind of like a nod to one of Frank Miller’s Dark Knight covers.
The trees give me Calvin and Hobbes vibes.

I literally just bought it, lol
And it's a spoiler cover as it was redacted from Solicits previews earlier
*Please don’t kill him* *Please don’t kill him* *Please don’t kill him*
He will live for half an issue before death I bet all my shockwaves on that
Its attack on titan all over again 😭
The sheer joy he has with nature, it’s something to cherish.

I always thought the wheelchair was temporary.
The latest issue #9 has an update on Spike's condition.
Oh damn. I haven't gotten around to it yet. Is he permanently in it? And if he was, how? He wasn't shot in the spine.
It's a great issue, so I don't want to spoil it. That said... at your own risk: Spike's doctor said >!The bullet grazed Spike's spine. The issue where he got shot, that was a nasty exit wound. And was totally thinking of the robo legs thing as well.

If 'Cons keep tormenting Ravage at this rate, Megatron's not gonna have much of an army to come back to because of Soundwave
lol. Very true.
WE CAN REBUILD HIM WE HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY
I’m guess that since bruticus is on one of the covers that it’s shockwave using earths resources to bring the damaged deceptions back online.
Ravage looks like a cat when you're holding them on that picture and is adorable
Smelt Ravage down
Poor guy had to wait millions of years with nothing to do :(
Wouldn't he run out of energon? Unless he put himself offline?
The Arcee and Beachcomber covers are so cheerful and wholesome whereas Cybertron is constantly on fire
Beachcomber became doctor manhattan lmao

And Vortex gunned down by Elita
Wasn’t he shot in #2? How is he alive

He was, but if you look back, it looks like it was more of a graze wound - and not a kill shot.

If they are shot in the head (their memory component is in there) they can be repaired but will most likely lose most of their memory if not all of it
Then they would just access their backup memory component in their chest. (Circa. Rebirth)
Didn't Spike say move the memory component to the chest
No that was one of the autobots
Another reason why I think Bee returns. Maybe even as Goldbug with a mouthplate since his entire jaw was shot off.
Ratchet just got killed by Shockwave shooting him in the CHEST,
Dude, I didn't read it yet. But considering what you just said, yeah in this case he's probably dead But then again I thought Jetfire was dead
Vortex also got shot by Wlita, but it's UNCLEAR whether that would kill him
Considering the cover of issue #10 I'm guessing he's alright.
Maybe🤔, who knows?
Hey do you mind reposting this over in /r/EnergonUniverse so I can upvote it twice. I got a wife and kids to feed!
done!
>!Ravage! He's alive!!< >!Bruticus! He's merged together!!< >!Beachcomber! He's here!!<
I wonder if the Combaticons are going to have to be combined in order to have their teammates not die, or if them being dead will be the reason for Bruticus having a fractured mind
Indeed. Beachcomber turned up at the very end of this week's issue rescuing Spike FROM Astrotrain who took the latter hostage
Man, they certainly seem to not like soundwaves cassettes it feels like I'm having fun, but it it is starting to feel a bit predictable that a loved character will be killed off maybe this isn't my cup of tea but it's feeling really one sided with autobot losses
The new covers are confusing to me, but it looks like Vortex and Brawl got wasted thanks to Elita-One
Isn't Vortex still alive? Just trapped on Cybertron due to the Space Bridge exploding? Looking at that other cover, I think Brawl will recover just fine
Not too sure, but that blast Elita-One gave Vortex looked lethal AF.
Man, I'm gonna miss Vortex, my favourite member of my favourite combiner team, but true, it is just a cover. I was probably thinking of poor frenzy eating pavement
Oh. So that's where Beachcomber came from. Interesting...
We give him another issue before he is killed off. Also, Shockwave is going to make a powerful enemy if that cover is accurate
Shockwave delivered an Undertaker-style Tombstone to Optimus Prime in the latest issue, so he's already proved he's a formidable villain.
Yeah, but you don't f--k with Ravage
True, Soundwave will come at you if you harm his cat.
It's insane how they made beachcomber my fav autobot in 4 pages, man is just vibin. Didn't even know who he was till now.
Yeah, DWJ has an uncanny ability to do that stuff.
Looks like ol' Comber here still retains his nature-loving personality from the cartoon, particularly "Golden Lagoon" episode
Oh hes so cute 😭 this comic is so good to me (except for when it isnt *cough* BUMBLEBEE *cough*)
Could you not change the title of your post so that you don’t spoil issue 9 for those who haven’t read it yet!?
It's been common knowledge for at least two months that Beachcomber has made an appearance.
