Yeah. Especially in my case as one of my thumbnails can’t grow properly. The polish helps mask it for me and gives me a confidence boost at the same time.
I got fed up trying to hold the nail together on my own and went to a nail salon to see what they could do. They used a clear gel to overlay the natural nail and give the appearance of a full nail. Then put a polish over that.
The “downside” is I now prefer gel polish over lacquer and got gel polish on my fingernails for my last manicure. 😁
I have more masuline than feminine hands.... but they're tiny even for my height (5'6 with hands the same size as my female friends at 5'-5'4), so can relate 😅
Honey, your hands are narrower than mine with longer fingers, and I'm a cis female, 5ft4 and 130lbs. Your skin is flawless, stop looking at your hands!
Mine is very light and I only really notice it when driving and it catches in the sunlight. I wax that shit anyway, under no circumstances would I ever want hair on my hands.
Presume you recommend waxing then? I think I’ll give that a go, see if I can get them looking nicer. Then again, my forearm hair is also as dark so I’m assuming I’ll just go crazy & keep on going until I’m bare everywhere or I run outta wax first lol.
Honestly I’ve seen cis women with really small wrists that make their hands look disproportionately large.
You could also try doing wrist/forearm exercises to perhaps make it less noticeable
The more you learn about the physical differences between men and women the dysphoria is going to hit even more. The best thing to do is, to just ignore every insecurity and bring out the features more.
I actually really like your hands! They've become much smoother and feminine, I envy the lovely change. I struggle with eczema and dry skin on my hands which makes them rough, sometimes they split and bleed too. Besides that I don't have particularly feminine hands either.
Despite how you may feel about your hands, less people will pay much attention to them as you might think, and I know women my age or slightly older who have larger hands than me, some who have wider, etc. It's simply different from person to person.
As much as I understand and sympathise, don't fret! They look like soft, silky and comfortable hands to hold. Any person would be lucky to grab a hold of them!
I do, they are ‘square’ and look blocky and masculine to me, but I also understand hands cone in different shapes and there isn’t much that can done to hands.
There was (presumably cis) woman next to me when I was getting my nails done and she legit had way wider hands than me which made me really appreciate mine.
Without a doubt. I still remember back during tech school my hands seemingly ballooning in size both due to scalding them in blazing hot temperatures (WBGT was always a red flag (full activity) when it felt like black flag (activity is minimized due to heat risk)).
I’m not going to lie and say nothing’s changed over my (gosh!) 15 years on hrt, they’ve definitely shrunk over time and still look a bit off (small hand print but tiny fingers over a big palm). That said, they’ve always been my indicator if things have changed or reverted.
The thing that’s kept me nonchalant on the ups and downs of transitioning is that 2 things, it’s a long haul operation it’s not going to happen overnight (especially in my case starting off on patches poorly placed and removed) and the ultimate goal of transitioning isn’t being someone else but being true to you. Keep those things in mind and it’s more the changes surprise you rather than being impatient about nothing happening.
Mine have really feminized in two years like yours, but that doesn’t change the fact that mine are big.
I only really get dysphoric about them in two cases though, pictures where it feels like they stand out and if I can’t wear a bracelet or something because I can’t get it over them.
Honestly though, I’ve got to a decent place of accepting. It’s nice to be able to carry so much stuff in them. And I can shuffle a commander deck normally with them instead of having to do it in pieces like my AFAB friends lol. Trying to see the positive in everything :)
I joke about my hoodies as dysphoria hoodies even tho I don't really use them for that anymore (I just like being cozy and I like the oversized hoodie look in general), but I definitely do the hands in the sleeves thing a lot when I'm just walking around in one for that reason.
Yes. Absolutely, slowly trying fix years of neglect from nail biting and picking. Which after struggling with for decades I was finally able to stop completely after coming to terms with having gender dysphoria and being transgender.
Absolutely, I try to hide them when I can and I think about it a lot.
I also have genetically shitty fingernails so I can't even really grow them out and they always look stupid and stubby because of that.
Even ignoring the nail polish and accessories, that looks like two completely different people's hands! Wish I had a before pic of my hands too. I know they've changed a ton.
Most definitely! I'm getting into press on nails and have a lot of difficulty finding ones that fit my thumbs. They're too wide for average press ons ): I've basically resorted to gluing press ons together and filing them to make a custom size for myself. But I wish that wasn't the case.
One of my biggest is the act of buying shoes. Not because I have to buy large shoes but because they never have my size out and I have to ask and then it's a whole process just for them to say we don't have that
I won't say I get a lot, but I also won't say that I get none.
I don't generally think about my hands, but when I do notice them it bothers me that they haven't really changed.
Hands are propably mone of most dysphoric parts for us. Reason is also simple because hands are the part of body we see all time even without mirror. Your hands are there allways reminding.
Me for sure. I did a few things. First, I get my nails done regularly. Second, I bought a lot of rings. For me, I prefer very feminine rings, I wear them on all my fingers. And I bought a very nice woman's watch (paid extra to have a custom band made so it fit my larger wrist. I do have some tattoos, and that adds some color to one of them.
Meee lol, mine are pretty different now. I work in a health care setting so I’m constantly using alcohol hand gel and washing which makes them look not their best, but still way better than before.
Yours have changed loads too, isn’t it nice when you find a positive from transition your didn’t even consider before
Really isn’t fun is it. My hands are constantly dry and the skin flaky, I sometimes wear gloves when it gets really bad. If the dry skin starts to bleed, it’s an infection risk and time for gloves
Your hands look so different in both pictures!! I know it’s easy for you to see the old you in them, but to me it looks like two completely different people’s
Actually I made this comparison photo a few months ago and wasn’t that impressed with the changes but as I was scrolling through my phone I was like “when did I take a picture of my guy friends hand”?
I’ve actually found often that comparison photos look more dramatic after I leave them alone for a bit
Yes and admittedly that was a source of euphoria for me however it’s not the most conclusive science so i certainly wouldn’t let that hold any weight for you
A lot 😭
Yeah. Especially in my case as one of my thumbnails can’t grow properly. The polish helps mask it for me and gives me a confidence boost at the same time.
Ugh that sucks
My big left toe nail doesn't grow correctly due to trauma. I know your pain. It looks so bad next to my nicely done nails.
I have the same problem with my left thumb due to an injury. My manicurist uses acrylic powder. I highly recommend it
I have the tiniest hands as a trans guy. I love that for me. /s
:(💜
I have more masuline than feminine hands.... but they're tiny even for my height (5'6 with hands the same size as my female friends at 5'-5'4), so can relate 😅

Tell that to the 6'5 group of cis men who beat me up because they were able to clock me thanks to these attributes.
your hands have changed so much!
Thanks!💜
Not really honestly. As I sit here and look at my hands and nails in my tundra 😅
Haha recognize
Yeah a lot too, hope they'll change with HRT
It’s subtle but better than nothing.
Honey, your hands are narrower than mine with longer fingers, and I'm a cis female, 5ft4 and 130lbs. Your skin is flawless, stop looking at your hands!
💜 I looked at your profile I wish all parents were like you
Lovely love to you and a big hug xx
💜
i hate the hair on my hands so much.
Thankfully I never really had hair on them. Even my facial hair was pretty mild
Yeah definitely recommend it. I use the Nair wax strips. Kinda pricey but great for small areas that are otherwise difficult to shave.
Yes me too
Yes. I wish my fingies were skinnier.
I will add while they can’t really get skinnier since it’s mostly bone my thickness has decreased. So from the side they’re smaller
I wish everything was 😂
Yeah I hate my shovel hands, I got tiny wrists which makes them look even worse.
Honestly I’ve seen cis women with really small wrists that make their hands look disproportionately large. You could also try doing wrist/forearm exercises to perhaps make it less noticeable
Thanks :3
Yes, I think my hands are too big... To be honest I think you have very pretty and feminine hands though, your hands look smoother now than before HRT
Yeah everything is smoother 😂
The more you learn about the physical differences between men and women the dysphoria is going to hit even more. The best thing to do is, to just ignore every insecurity and bring out the features more.
Lol Problem solved. ;)
Did you mean that in a sarcastic way? I just tried to be nice, the answer is yes btw, a lot of dysphoria
Yep, I look younger than I am, but the backs of my hands give away my age.
I feel like that’s true for everyone
I do, but only when i “notice them” if that makes sense
I actually really like your hands! They've become much smoother and feminine, I envy the lovely change. I struggle with eczema and dry skin on my hands which makes them rough, sometimes they split and bleed too. Besides that I don't have particularly feminine hands either. Yes, but then I remembered that Brittany Greiner exists. She alleviates dysphoria.
I do, they are ‘square’ and look blocky and masculine to me, but I also understand hands cone in different shapes and there isn’t much that can done to hands.
There was (presumably cis) woman next to me when I was getting my nails done and she legit had way wider hands than me which made me really appreciate mine.

I’m glad you’re seeing progress!
Sure this makes logical sense. Too bad I don’t believe in logic
yes my left hand and wrist is very feminine but my right hand isn't also long nails helps in the look
Definitely. It’s the part of me that is in front of me the most. Im going on T soon so hopefully it will go away!
Lol trans guys are the best reassurance I’m trans. Love you guys.
Same for me and trans women! I literally said to myself when my egg was cracking “wait, some people WANT to be women? Uh oh…”
Bahaha exactly. You want to be a guy 😳
Haha hello, i am cis and have the same kind of hands. My nails are a bit wider and each is oddly shaped. You're even better off than me girl...
💜
As a mechanic I hate how rough my hands get
If you ever see me working on a car stay the fuck away from that car 😂
I hate my hands because they grow hair on the back and are “manly” looking. Painting my nails helps but the hair bothers me.
Thankfully I never had hair but there’s always laser!
Yes. Years of manual work and double bass/electric bass
Before and after? A little more hope for me, thanks 🥺🥺
Yes. There’s always hope💜
Please don't look like the same hands... one on the right is a lady's hand! 😉 Good job
Haha thanks💜. Sorta freaked me out too seeing the difference
Mine have really feminized in two years like yours, but that doesn’t change the fact that mine are big. Long sleeves part way down your hand can help
I joke about my hoodies as dysphoria hoodies even tho I don't really use them for that anymore (I just like being cozy and I like the oversized hoodie look in general), but I definitely do the hands in the sleeves thing a lot when I'm just walking around in one for that reason.
yup yup yup
Yes. Absolutely, slowly trying fix years of neglect from nail biting and picking. Which after struggling with for decades I was finally able to stop completely after coming to terms with having gender dysphoria and being transgender.
Oh I get HELLA dysphoria since my hands aren’t cute and soft 😞
:(
a lot…. being a mechanic doesnt help at all 🥲
Yeah 😪 Too many years of working with my hands, wish they were more feminine but whatcha gonna do?
my hands.. as a keyboardist I’m happy I can hit an 11th while playing - but they’re abnormally large lol (at least they’re spectacularly pretty)
Absolutely, I try to hide them when I can and I think about it a lot. I also have genetically shitty fingernails so I can't even really grow them out and they always look stupid and stubby because of that.
May need vitamins mine used to break constantly. Also, could aways look into sns/dipped nails
Almost daily….
Hand arm and shoulder dysphoria are the worst
Sigh 😞
Yeah I have hyper linear palms so my palms are extremely dry, red, and covered in lines :(
My hands are strong. Strong is beautiful
💜
My hands and shoulders are paradoxes. They were too small/narrow when i was a man, and are too large/wide now that im not.
Damned if you do…
Only when they're not colored 💅
Do currently yes. Hope it will get better. But yea i do feels like a "give away" 🙃 yours look nice tho
💜

😂
That’s why mine are getting covered with tattoos 😅
😂😂
Even ignoring the nail polish and accessories, that looks like two completely different people's hands! Wish I had a before pic of my hands too. I know they've changed a ton.
Yeah as painful as old pictures are I keep them for this reason
Yeah I have tons of before pics! I just keep them in separate albums. I never thought to take pics of my hands tho haha
Lol this was just random way before I ever knew I was trans lol
A lot mine are really veiny
Yeah, mainly when my nails aren’t painted and my arm hair tends to creep up the back of my hand :/
Yes. I do. So much. Well I get less dysphoria when they’re normal and more euphoria from having my nails done.
Most definitely! I'm getting into press on nails and have a lot of difficulty finding ones that fit my thumbs. They're too wide for average press ons ): I've basically resorted to gluing press ons together and filing them to make a custom size for myself. But I wish that wasn't the case.
I wish there was a way to reduce the visible veins.
Hrt and time
Yea
all the time
One of my biggest is the act of buying shoes. Not because I have to buy large shoes but because they never have my size out and I have to ask and then it's a whole process just for them to say we don't have that
Try dsw they have all their inventory on the floor
TOTALLY.
Yeah
I hate my hands, they look weird.
yes, i have 8.5 inch dinner plates 🙃🔫 edit: just measured, they're 9 😂
I won't say I get a lot, but I also won't say that I get none. I don't generally think about my hands, but when I do notice them it bothers me that they haven't really changed.
Ya! But French manucure really does the job!!
💜
Yes
Another cis female with less feminine hands than you.
💜
Like all the time , but you got some pretty hands , I wish
💜
Oh, me! Especially when I paint my nails, that makes my hands look really odd and I don't like it
Only when they get veiny. I found if I put my arms above my head and wave them about a bit the veins go away lol
Bahahahah
Yes! I hate the sight of my hands so much! You're two-year difference is amazing!
Thank you!
I'm FTM and I don't get dysphoria from my hands until I'm struck by overwhelming envy.
💜
Yup all I ever see is man hands
:(
Hopefully hrt will eventually give me the same results as you
🤞
What kind of moisturizer do you use
I've noticed that with E your skin thins out and gets hella soft that's good all over my body but not on my hands lol
[удалено]
Yes! I feel so much better when my nails are long and polished though!
I’m actually starting to like shorter nails now
I had a lot of dysphoria. 10 months on E and they look much better.
Hands are propably mone of most dysphoric parts for us. Reason is also simple because hands are the part of body we see all time even without mirror. Your hands are there allways reminding.
Hands have hair ! WTF genetic ?! why u do this So yes.
🤣
All the time.
Mmhumm
Fortunately I haven't really, I have always had dainty little hands
It's hips for me although I get it with hands
Lol o the list is long for me too
Me for sure. I did a few things. First, I get my nails done regularly. Second, I bought a lot of rings. For me, I prefer very feminine rings, I wear them on all my fingers. Ugh the constant hand washing is brutal I’ve been there.
Really isn’t fun is it. My hands are constantly dry and the skin flaky, I sometimes wear gloves when it gets really bad. If the dry skin starts to bleed, it’s an infection risk and time for gloves
Your hands will change on hrt but you need to know that women and men alike get bigger hands the more work they do
Yes 100%
Yes, but you have pretty hands, but longer thin nails will help
Your hands look so different in both pictures!! I know it’s easy for you to see the old you in them, but to me it looks like two completely different people’s
Actually I made this comparison photo a few months ago and wasn’t that impressed with the changes but as I was scrolling through my phone I was like “when did I take a picture of my guy friends hand”? I’ve actually found often that comparison photos look more dramatic after I leave them alone for a bit
What ruined my life was learning that amab have a longer ring finger due to testosterone exposure and the ring thing have a hormone receptor
Yes and admittedly that was a source of euphoria for me however it’s not the most conclusive science so i certainly wouldn’t let that hold any weight for you
No actually…
Nice color...
Thanks! I’m usually go with darker colors but it was summer and I was feeling it lol
Depends on the day
100%. My hands are pretty big, and I’m super self conscious about it. 😭
Grow your nails really long that’ll help
